Would those same volunteers also put it in writing, witnessed and legal that they would be fully liable to BC for any losses, damage and costs involved if one of them made a mistake in his diagnosis of real or fake which led to either legal action from JH or a shut down of the site? I can't believe that there are still BCers gnawing on this bone when it should be obvious what the issue is and have done with it.
5 pages back I asked a genuine and honest question. As yet nobody has pointed out where it has been brought up time and again, (after the original thread was put up). I also asked the Mods to delete if inappropriate. Is it really "gnawing the bone" asking if there is any change in opinions after about a year?

But the sale of real Rick's 2nd hand doesn't need THE CURRENT MODS. I have little doubt a "real" expert and a faker expert would volunteer to do it. That's the nature of most folk on this site.
Apologies for my misunderstanding. I also dislike the 'big guy' mentality about this whole thing and my immediate instinct is also to kick back about such things, but pragmatism takes over eventually and my feeling is that the whole thing is more trouble than it's worth. I couldn't care less if Rickenbackers (genuine and fakes) disappeared from the face of the earth tomorrow so it's just not something to get worked up about. If everyone felt that way then JH would have nothing to cause trouble about. Instead he's probably having a lot of fun putting the wind up people who do give a sh1t. Well, not me matey, you can keep your Ricks - fake or not.
You dislike the "big guy" mentality. But sod it because it doesn't affect you. Selfish, but honest. Irony? Well spotted Hiram 1st to notice. Your prize is in the post (that's a blatant lie ).

As has been alluded to, it appears that EBay don't get heat from Ric from about midnight Fri our time until about 2pm Monday our time, hence the quick BIN ads.

Jon, I was reading your post whilst on the phone to my 81 (I'm nearly 82 you know) mother. She seemed quite stunned at my bursting out laughing. I really did not want to go through "shonky overprice American tat" with her. Right or wrong, you have by proxy, got my mother in the sulks over her inattentive son

No. I'm disappointed because of the attitude shown over a question posed. Things change over the course of time. To ask a question then to see a response that considers it is sh*t stirring is disappointing and shows (in my opinion) a fundamental misunderstanding of why the question was asked. Perhaps I have missed all the other debates after the initial thread asking members opinions and stating the owners position on the matter. If that is the case, my bad. The last thing I want to see is Basschat getting serious hassle from RIC, but it was a serious question. AND BY THE WAY, where exactly did I have a pop at Basschat? If I have done that, then I apologise unreservedly. Basschat is very important to me (even if my subs appear to have lapsed ).

Looking for Jedson short scale telecaster bass
karlfer replied to Milton Gibbs's topic in Basses For Sale
Quite often one or two in FEEBay, but £50 may be a bit hopeful. Good luck! Karl. There ya go. Nowt to do with me but seems to be what you are after A Vintage Jedson Bass -
I don't think anyone expects that. I'm guessing the point of this new topic is to explore ways of advertising Rics without the risk of the fight.
Exactly.

So, the asking of a question is sh*t stirring Mr Apple? Disappointing response. As for exhuming horses?? I asked a genuine question as to whether it could possibly be looked at, that's all. I also requested if the question was inappropriate, please remove the thread. Most people have entered into the spirit of the question but more than one has to be the clever one about it. Oh well it's the internet . Strangely enough when I was thinking about adverts having to be authorised by "committee" the Faker expert I had in mind was the blindingly obvious one, namely Bassassin. By the way, for anybody who thinks otherwise, Mr Hall has been AMAZINGLY successful in getting ads for Fakers pulled and the result of that seems to have been a very strange downward pressure on their selling prices. Thanks to everybody for their thoughts nonetheless.

Mods, please delete if you think inappropriate. And my apologies if it is so. Really just what it says above. Is it possible to review the situation regarding the forbidding of Rick sales here? There have been a couple of comments requesting looking at allowing real ones to be sold again. IE, possibly allowed after being vetted by a small committee of real bass and fakers experts. I for one find it sad such an iconic instrument is missing from our sales section. And yes, I know all the original reasons for the ban. Again Mods, apologies if I am out of order, the intent is not to stir it up, but perhaps to look to moving forward. Cheers, Karl.

That is one beautiful bass. Please don't take this the wrong way Innobassion, but your avatar implies you are in Tokyo, Japan. With likely shipping costs around £100 to UK, plus VAT, customs import duty etc, to buy your bass people would need to budget around £1100 to get it to UK, based on your £800 asking price. Hope the Mods and you are both ok with this guess, as I would hate to think somebody would get carried away with the beauty of this bass and then find out the other bits too late. Mods, please feel free to delete if I have crossed the line. Cheers, Karl.

** SOLD ** Rickenbacker C64 (McCartney 4001) bass for sale

They were obviously gutted, not, Damon. They pm'd a bass player on NWB before I got home from rehearsal.
-
So I chickened out until the end of rehearsal. I said to them they would need to get a new bassist but that I would work with my replacement as much as they needed until he/she were ready. I also said I would do all the gigs until somebody was ready. The Troyen guitarist asked, quite sharply for him, what my reasons were. Unusual for him, he really is a nice, gentle man. I mumbled I had my reasons. Rather empty inside at the moment, but to me, I needed to do it. Not fun, but there you go. Thank you to all you lot for the last week. The supporters and the ones who think I'm a tosser. For good and bad, you have all been the musical sanity in the vacuum between my lugs. Thanks all.

Aha, little bit of research and I'm sure I could "sniff" you out from NWB. I'll have to Seattle for watching bands perhaps
