1.
That's probably a good thing. Wouldn't want giant catfish when the normal ones are big enough . . .
Pah, Mekongs, they quiver in fear at the very mention of Ebro's Big Boys
2. I had no GAS. I wanted to get down to 2 basses. THEN YOU DO THIS!!!!!!!!! Now if somebody does buy one of my basses I;m going to be in trouble again The perfect jazz, good luck with your sale.
3. Think for me the Sadowsky has just stopped any thought of Fender CS. Mind, some of the stuff that Peterbuilt do is AMAZINGGGGGG! And most of it seems to be South of £1500. Before Christmas they were showing the most stunning fretless "jazz" I've ever seen. A darkish Sea Foam Green, ebony board, tortie plate. The Candy Apple Orange one was something else, as was the Burgundy Mist P. Superbly made as well according to a lot of owners. Mind, I would think if you got your vintage replica of dreams and needed to move it on, you would lose quite a bit.
4. The catfish don't appear to be suffering Skank. The incredible thing is these are fish in the reactor's cooling pond and some have been aged to BEFORE it all went up
5. Thank you Mr Makak. PM's replied. Regarding the colour, if you look at post #2, photo 3 you can see the top horn. The bass appears darker in this photo. Awkward colour to photo but very good under changing stage lights.
6.
Is that squirrel on a Bonsai tree, or is it a massive mutant squirrel which has grown through radiation poisoning? (That's how radiation works, right?). Either way - Isn't it a bit... arty for the French?
Quoting Jeremy Wade, radiation appears to have stunted the growth of Catfish around Chernobyl.
7.
A number of pubs I play in have instruments hanging on the wall, usually a Strat and a P-bass, maybe an old trumpet, etc. They're not there to be played, it's more "look, look, this is a music pub". I can't be the only person who checks to see if any of them are actually cool and valuable vintage instruments that have been hanging there since before they were cool and valuable ...
You aren't Jack, buy I still have to find one worth anything. In fact, finding one with all the requisite bits would be a start
8. Didn't they recently change it to withholding more of sellers money? I am fairly sure they used to be able to withhold in some circumstances, but they have now massively widened the range of sellers (ie under 100 sales). Added to which, if I read the mail correctly, they have recently decided to charge 10% of your DELIVERY charge. Yet more money for the ***** Sadly though, they do still have a bigger market for bass sales, even though prices on there are getting stupid in some cases.
9. And now for the "not David Bailey" moments . It's a slightly darker blue than Sonic, can look greenish in some light. Very retro though, IMO. Edit, looking at the photos, it will be cleaned before it goes anywhere
10. Over 30 years ago played bass with the chap on the right, guitars, keys, writer etc. At 15 his skills were stella. Chap called Dave Bainbridge, Iona one of his projects. He has played with the likes of Jack Bruce, Steve Hackett and philharmonics. Got a backstage pass to meet up again in April after he contacted me through Facebook. Genuinely glowy feeling. Be warned Celtic/prog ish content. http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=Uz8o9Q1y5WY
11.
Did they come with a couple of books then though, like this one?
12. Thought these were about £1800 when they came out? Fender Bass Guitar | eBay
13. Cheers Andy, hope you enjoy the black one. Dougie, hope you like the 75RI as much as I love the Sadowsky. Thanks Marc, I must admit a Mex Fiesta Red road worn jazz is an itch I have yet to scratch .
14. Bloody Hell Lozz, that were quick lad Wonder I should spray mine black and knock £50 off Nah, , well done fella.
15. You don't mention whether or not you would consider trades?
16. Further PM's replied. Despite it being up for a month, it will not be getting reduced. £700 is a VERY fair price in my opinion, for a bass as good as this. Or you can get a new one for £1150 . The scratchplate would help you spot the difference Cheers, Karl. Bass in use last Saturday night at The Griffin, Earlstown (fat ugly git alert)
17. OK the chap coming round tomorrow night can't make it so a bumpo. A bass of this quality for 2nd hand Mex price . Rude not to
18. Fabulous Andy, if my Yam Att Spec goes and this is still up I'll happily have a jaunt over Snake or Woodhead
19.
http://cotswoldbassg...co.uk/index.htm
Shame he is selective about what questions he responds to.
20. Copy of mail I sent yesterday, with no reply. Shame really as he set up a few months ago under two different names and has had some nice gear in. Most of it reasonably priced. Smeg, and now with link Fender Precision Custom Bass - Japan Mid 80's - Reliced! Dear cotswoldbassguitars, Hi there. If you take the neck off, the body will have a stamp, for example PB57-OWUS, which would be Precision Bass, 57 re-issue, Olympic White, US pick ups. It is possible to trace the kind of wood from that code. The heel of the neck would also have some info, although it is most likely only to be a production date. A photo of the neck pocket would be great.
