1. And here's me thinking I'm just a grumbly male menopausal grumpy old git!
2. Has this got the 40mm nut that the Japanese 70's RI's usually have? I had a white one, sold a couple of years back. Regretted ever since
3. Nobody can sell anything . I have quite a few hundred quids of gig money currently burning a hole. Quite a few of the basses I am very attracted to are collection only. EG, lovely Inca silver Lakland Osbourne, £700, Swansea , 460 mile round trip. It would actually be cheaper buying the gorgeous green one in Bassgear at £800 (although for me it is a touch overpriced) Gibbo Ltd Explorer bass Cardiff, £600, be almost better getting a new one delivered at £750. Beautiful 64 custom shop 64 jazz, £1800, Stirling, not even the same piggin time zone. The list goes on. THEY ARE CUTTING OUT 70/80% of their own potential market because they can't be arsed to get a big box from Halfords (like I did on Sat) and box it up for a courier to collect. So frustrating. As you were.
4. Read the rules, 36 hours between bumps please.
5. Gorgeous bass but thankfully couple of hundred quid past me at the mo. Just a question really, where and how are the leds controlled please?
6. I have a simplistic view perhaps. I reckon the supply situation will always help those of us who have good conditioned used ones, in terms of resale price. Just speculation though. As to why some sell? Some of us are magpies, attracted by the latest shiny thing. Them pretty ones from the Swedish company for example
7.
I've no idea what you're talking about. My dad used to say 'shazbat'.
Lying git
8. Shazbat discreet? Age being shown, nanoo nanoo
9. Beautiful and a good price. I need to have a good think about this. The thinking bit is wether I can live with sunburst for such a wondrous bass.
10. This is possibly the most stunning jazz I have ever seen. Thankfully it is a bit more than I can afford at the moment so I don't need to sweat about it. Gorgeous.
11. ? Click on his name, phil421. When the page opens up, 2nd block in from right hand side saying" send me a message". Worked for me 30 seconds ago. Contact Mod if it isn't working for you.
12. I don't normally do this, but a copy of an update I sent by PM to Mike "Hiya Mike, just a quickie. Just thought I'd let you know I've been gigging that 75RI Jazz for the last half a dozen gigs. Loving it fella thanks so much for the deal. The irony is when I first joined Basschat I sold my original natural 74 Jazz as I thought it was too expensive and irreplaceable to gig with. Now I am completely hooked on using an almost exact replica American Vintage RI, as I started off with in the first place! Thanks again bud, all the best, Karl."
13. I seem to remember that was created by me during a bout of gastric 'flu.
14.
Here's how it might look, without the badge - someone else has done a Newcaste P: http://www.ultimate-...d.php?t=1034887
SUPERB, ta
15.
That bass will easily do as the basis for Harris tribute axe , but if you wanted to really be pedantic then I think Steve's bass is a true white rather than the usual Olympic White , which has more yellow in it . Not sure what effect the Toon sticker will have, though - you might find the bass gives a poor performance despite costing you a fortune and provides you with year after year of dissappointment and broken dreams .
I'm used to that And thanks jezzaboy, cracking idea.
16. See, I have the following and I have put a mirror plate on it, but I was convinced 'Arry's was a slab and that the binding wouldn't work.
17. Thanks everybody (except TheGreek and Dingus obviously) . Lot of food for thought. It's a slab body with the binding painted on and a thin chrome-ish scratch plate. The Irons bit is probably just a sticker and would be replaced with a Toon one anyway.
18.
speak to John http://www.bravewoodguitars.co.uk/
I know he's superb but I would guess around £1500 and that is more than I can afford.
Fender?
It's the slab body and artwork that are not in their catalogue.
19. IMO obviously. So, anybody got any idea who could build one for me, without the second mortgage? 20. Now that, with just 2 x12's and in that Fender-ish Tweed colour on top, bottom, back and sides. Front exactly as is Hope I live long enough to work out the cost
