1. Mike, for me it would be the Terror and BF S12. When I changed my GB I was going to get another Terror, but the GK MB was £100 cheaper and looked simple. Added to which I had heard EAD's and loved it. For me, my GB didn't seem to work as well with the Barefaced hence the change. TC 450 I had seemed to lack power and there was too much going on at the front panel for me. I did the £25 valve change with my Terror (the 500) and from big to small pubs , never went beyond 3 on either master or gain. Even a clown like me could not get a BAD rock/jazz sound out of the Terror. As we all know, trying stuff in bedroom/shop is a waste of time. Try and find a local gigging bassist with gear you are looking at and go and listen. All the best Mr. Karl.
2. Absolute bargain. I'm after a Fiesta Red roadworn and can only find one second hand, in GuitarGuitar. At an eye popping £800 GLWTS, you shouldn't need it!
3. Brave gigging with that round Govan. The original owner took his eye off it and Rab C Nabbed It I'll get me string vest.
4.
Thanks I got the bass from vintage and rare in London and I does have a serial number on the neck plate ;-)
Sneaky ol' Fender, . Bump.

6. Some of the early Shergold's had the big tree things that were left over from when they bought Hayman IIRC. There is a Shergold fan forum somewhere, think it's on Faecesbook. I had a loaner Marathon in 1980 when my Kasuga Rick had been nicked. I didn't want to give it back, that's for sure! The one on FEEBay, paint would strip easy, I'm having a Sea Foam Green/tortie plate fantasy
7. Who needs a serial number! . Very interesting! Bump. http://www.zoominfo.com/p/Michael-Doyle/1162669395
8. Wonderous beast. There are some wonderful basses up at the moment around the £1200 mark, a chap is spoilt for choice. Couple of Sadowsky's, that stunning 75 RI, LPB P Special, 4003 S of the unmentionable variety. This one is probably as near to the perfect bass normal people can justify. GLWTS Karl.
9. The original neck on this bass would have been jazz dimensions despite the designation Precision Deluxe Special. Presumably it was changed out because it was rosewood board, or there was some kind of issue. I have had a couple of these, and in both of them the original necks were pretty damn special IMO. The basses did play superbly well. GLWTS. Karl.

...

And you couldn't be accused of being easily led astray could you Lozz
11. Cheers Mark, really glad you got the fab Attitude and REMOVED TEMPTATION FOR ME!!!!!!!! All the best dude! Karl.
12. Well my little shoal of piranhas, all sorted thank you very muchly. A combination of the recommended eq. changed gain/master setting and pick up adjustment and the P sounded rather jolly nice thank you. Basically gain to 12 o'clock, bass 9 o'clock, low mids 3 o'clock, high mids 11 o'clock, treble 1 o'clock, master at, erm, 8 o'clock (or on about 2 in old money). Oh, and loud. Very loud. Was through the pa for first set, took me out for second set due to overpowering guitarses and drummer. Not convinced but nonetheless Seriously though guys, many thanks for all the advice
13. Lovely bass Lozz, I really should have bought this when it was in Stockport, but I just couldn't get the timing right. Have a bump fella, all the best. Karl.
14. You lot better get this bought. The ONLY reason I haven't pm'd James is my mother is here and I can't get to Sheffield until next week!
15. As you know Mark, sound is a very subjective issue, not just ruled by bass but style, strings, set up, amp, amp settings, cab, room and all the other things that can make tiny differences. What I will say is that with the middle pup solo'd it is a typical P, but the jazz dialed in just a touch makes it that bit spicier. You have all the good stuff from a PJ WITHOUT the volume bleed that is usually associated with a P/J. Currently set up with flats, best idea regarding an unbiased comment on sound is to pm timmchale2009. He gigged it quite a bit more than me, and isn't in a position whereby he is trying to sell it. Cheers, Karl.
16.
Hard to tell with the ashtray in place, but the bridge pickup looks more like the 60s position to me? Pretty little thing though...
So with Fender's track record it will be a 75 RI then
17. From those photos, everything from the front says 75 RI. Didn't know Mexico did them though . I appear to have lost the facility for paragraphs so please excuse me, but Arpi's questions plus is gig bag/case included?
18. Hello Mark, nothing really changed to be honest. Still on FEEBay at £700 BIN (plus courier costs). Not really bumping it here as seems little interest, even though for the reason of fees etc it is still £100 cheaper here (plus courier costs). I allowed quite a lot for this when I got it so really won't be going any cheaper. Part of that allowance was because of the costs of the mods (over £200) but I wouldn't expect to get that back. However, other Glaubs have gone on here for £600 and more, so I think I am asking a fair amount. Especially with a Gator hardcase included in the price. Guess by the fact it's still here others must disagree Oh it will very probably be at The Flying Shuttle in Bury on Saturday night.
19.
Wow, is this a north/south thing?!! I'm just trying to keep the cost down and I'm not in a hurry to sell! If for 800 I can get you a hard case and ship it, then I'll do it with pleasure. I have UPS coming on Saturday for another bass. But not in a gig bag, I've seen it go wrong before so I won't take the chance. Cheers!
Nope, just a bit of light hearted banter It is frustrating though that so many good basses can not be couriered. Bump.
20. Stunning basses, put it on the Bay at a BIN of £1300. Fabulous.
21. See, I know all you lads in London have a tough time. None of you appear to be in a position to go to a guitar shop and buy a £15 cheap padded gig bag. Or scrounge a large cardboard box from Halfords. Or get some bubble wrap from the Post Office or B and Q. I can only presume that London has none of these outlets, unlike us in the Arctic Circle (or Lancashire I believe some call it). Seriously though Chiliwailer, it's not a pop at you, it's just it happens SO often that folk down south can not courier basses. At least you ACKNOWLEDGED the post. I do wish you good luck with your sale, but you are one of three currently that I may well have spent around £800 with, but not if I am expected to do a 400 mile round trip as well. Bump.
22. Very nice but a 400 mile round trip means one potential buyer out. GLWTS
23.
What the f*** did you have to do that for
I saw one in the UK acouple of weeks back, pushing a grand. Get this one bought you tart
24. Perhaps I'm just naive, but a bass with that much paint missing? I would expect the back of the neck to show a lot more wear than that one is!
