1. When I see Jedson's and original Futuramas going for skywards of £300 I think if somebody buys them they are classic more money than sense. They were crap planks with strings then and definitely won't have got any better. £300 would see me with a good MIM. YES they do exist
2. If it had been Fiesta Red it would have been me that got it. It wasn't, I didn't!
3.
Whoever had this bass before you must have been mad to let it go ................ 4. Yeah, tried Bumtree and Freelove but little joy and quite a lot of timewasters sadly. Hopefully a FEEBayer will come on here and buy through this website. If not, as I say, last stab. If I keep it I will make sure I gig it occasionally, to justify having it bad back = " Stunning bass.good with e bay". Thanks Jamie. Your offer was very close last week. If you are still as interested, perhaps you would pm me at some time, we may be able to work something out. Cheers, Karl.
5.
'karlfer' I need a lie down (and to put all 4 of my basses up!) Karl. MB1. ...Now that'll make your eyes water? Fnarr Fnarr!
You really are a tad smutty aren't you
6. Oh dear, I'm in love again Questions. 1. What is the weight please? 2. Is that 3 rotaries and a micro switch? 3. What do they all do/ 4. That thumb rest, is that original? Looking forward to the answers, cheers, Karl.
7.
A Lake Placid Blue, matching headstock jazz bass with rosewood 'board, pearloid block inlays and cream 'board binding... Lightly relic'd.
Get a Lakky Daryl Jones and a sander!
8. Thanks chaps. Bungie, that Sterling Onyx is stunning, I'm sure you have treated yourself to a beauty there. Cheers, Karl.
9. Wish I could take photos like that. Scream for me Wigan
10. Now on FEEBay All attempts will be given up after that. It's an excellent bass at a good price (on here). Cheers, Karl.
11. Thanks chaps. PM's replied. Prefer sale. There is a second hand one of these on FEEBay right now at a BIN OF £1250! Once one of the three sells (if I live long enough ) I will remove the other 2 from sale. Cheers, Karl.
12. I'm a bit confused . He says it's a 70's "repro" and calls it a Road Worn. How can you tell if it's one of the legendary Mex Road Worns, or it has just been towed 150 miles up the M6?

14. Nigel Kennedy in horror shirt plays a blinder. World's best cover band , BBC Symphony Orchestra. Stay in this night every year for this. Wish I could get tickets, just once
15. They are appreciating but that is currently far too much. Superb basses but so heavy. That one doesn't look any different to the 1981 photo following
16.
Oh crap.
It ain't that bad (actually, it's better than the Japanese Geddys I've had coz it's not as bloody heavy)
17. Well, that answers that then! Might as well take my Mexican Geddy off sale now Good job I rather like gigging it then
18. Got to be one of the very best jazz basses up for sale on here at the moment IMO. The difference in tonal variation between v/v/t and stacked knobs is actually rather surprising. American Vintage Re -Issues are generally considered to be extremely good. Very surprising that Fender don't do more of it, as stacked knobs are simply more versatile. Tim is a top bloke and the luthier he uses does excellent work from what I have seen. Somebody is about to get a stunning looking, sounding and playing bass that is unlikely to do anything other than appreciate IMHO. Karl.
19.
I believe many people buy (and in some cases sell) these things in good faith when they may be getting a 'bitsa' or out and out fake. It is hard to tell so I think its best to post on here to get a few opinions.
So true Ash!
20. Too many basses and wives Thing is Jody she gets things every year from gigs. Earlier this year she got three days in London, a night at the ballet, the next night at a show. I even went to the bar all the time. Understanding can be subtlely bought
21. Hiya Dave, hope you are recovering from some of the disappointment. I love my little GK MB500. No valve pre amp, all clean tranny noise. UNLESS you use the boost channel If I use my 75 RI Jazz live, I give the bass and low mids a touch of boost. With my Precision I cut them both back just a tad. All very easy, very powerful, very light. I am really becoming minimalist. We do about 45 pub gigs a year. All I need is that amp, the BF S12V and one bass. I take a second in case I break a string. All the tonal variation I need for the classic rock we do comes from a little amp eq, a bit of bass rotaries twiddling and my fingers (or on Children of the Grave, that creation of Beelzebub, the plectrum! ). My advice to you? Look out for a EBS TD650. They go down to 2 ohms, built like a tank, bits of effects built in, sound MAGNIFICENT and can be hired out for fracking. Only reason I got rid of mine is it weighed more than my current amp head and cab, together. But wahat a sound. Dave, don't worry, half the fun is trying these things. All the best Mr. Cheers, Karl.
22.
I knew I had an old photo...
Oooooh, lovely, Guitarses be afraid. Mr. Castle, don't you be looking
23. Some of you lot would cause a punch up in a convent. Some interesting thoughts as ever. Whilst there is the inevitable staters of "they are crap, period" from the usual ones who have played 2 or 3, there is the other extreme of devout followers. No surprises really. The comparison with Japanese always astounds me. I have had a lot of Japanese Fenders. They are always beautifully made, usually heavy and often a little less ballsy than their US counterparts. They just seem to be a bit kind off soul-less.But that's food for another thread. For me, my EXPERIENCE over the last couple of years is that every Mex I have used has been pretty damn good. The title of the thread was a complete accident. When it was pointed out and I finally twigged, I was just a tad embarrassed
24. OK, it's been done before but how about an update? Some think Mexican Fender's are atrocious. My experience, FSR Deluxe, Sea foam Green, suberbly made, excellent bass. FSR Antigua Precision, as above. Latest model Geddy Lee, as above. Those are from recent personal experience. Only sold because I'm a fickle magpie entranced by shiny new (to me) objects. The Road Worn series are immensely well thought of. Why do people who have not tried every Mex Fender made, insist they are all awful??? Right, your thoughts and experiences please folks.
