1. Fabulous basses, just too much neck for my fingers (I've had 2). Well done Mr. er Meister Now the work starts, persuading the boss you need a second amp, for both pup outputs Enjoy, these basses are fabulous and the scalloped bits really help bending.
 2. They have a bit, my sunburst was £760 ish. Prices on Japanese basses have rocketted over the last few years due to exchange rates, increased labour costs, vat changes etc. Have a look at a Japan 75 RI now for example. £750, plus import plus vat plus transport equates to around £1050 AND THAT'S SECOND HAND! The move to Mexico meant the Geddies and Millers came down a little in price. Certainly not in quality, as can be seen from various members comments over the last year or so. The finish, set up on my Mex Geddy is superb. As it was on my Mex FSR Antigua and Mex FSR Sea Foam Deluxe. Enjoy it while it lasts, Fender will put their prices up next Jan. Edit. The following link has some interesting comments on Mexican basses. The Road Worn series are also very well thought of. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/216053-which-fender/

 4. Sorry to hear about the probs Dave, but, it's a pisser that you will be laughing about in a couple of weeks. Don't stress, it's just a frustration that you will get around. Oh, and get a Thunderfunk (I can't afford one so I 'm sticking with the delightful GK MB) Chin up dood! Karl.
 5. Spare bedroom/music room Jody. Only 3 basses live in that room, usually in a 3 bass Fender rack. The cases live above the wardrobes so she can't see the bits I missed painting. The Glaub is usually on a stand in the front room next to the telly, just in case there's nowt on Having said that, we've been married 33 years, don't really listen to anything she says now. sh*t, gotta go, she's coming
 6. Gorgeous but I haven't got anything worth £400 (in my eyes anyway ) GLWTS
 7.
How can we complain when politicians, big business, and so on are all giving bad examples of just making sh*t up.
Doesn't make it right though does it?
 8. Why do people just make stuff up to flog gear? 1. Never have been and currently aren't made in China. 2. They stopped using US pups on this bass in 2006 2009 NEW FENDER GEDDY LEE JAZZ BASS UNPLAYED W/ FENDER TWEED CASE + BILL OF SALE 717669029890 | eBay
 9. Perhaps I should not have turned down Jamie's kind offer of £560 and I pay the insured delivery. Live and learn. Except I rarely do . Gratuitous photo. 10. Cheers Tim. All the rig needed as backline at a recent large outdoor festival. Certainly all that is ever needed at the pubs that are our bread and butter. And most Saturday or Sunday mornings around 2am, my back thanks me for it

 17.
Love them or loath them they save my back! Love my wee PF800
Amen brother, amen. This time a year ago, my EBS TD650 head weighed more than the amp AND cab I use now. No difference in tone or volume cos of them funny little knobs on the front of my amp
 18. Must admit, if either my Geddy or Lakland went, I would find this hard to resist.
 19. Sorry to hear that Martyn, fingers crossed bud. Hard to take, but it's not always for the worst. I moved back to England for a big paying job that went tit's up 8 months later, no redundancy pay, nowt. Now a few years down the line but I found a franchise that works well for me. Not rich, but comfortable and if I want an early finish for a distant gig I take it. Hard at the moment but you will move on. GLWTS and everything else.
 20.
+1 The best Fender you'll ever play.
Closely followed by a Lakland.
 21.
I have a 73 4001 in Fireglo with original case, that has been valued by a bass specialist retailer at £2500, although what it's valued at and what it will sell for are very different things. As has been said, with the loan you have had £1200 sounds a great price to me. I don't think that is expensive for what seems to be a Rick in good condition, and you like this one, you may find it hard to get another one you like as much. Ta very glad BIGd
The specialist retailer will have the time to wait it out, and will be wanting to make a good bit on it. At £2500 he would be looking to make a minimum of £400/£500 on a used instrument (double that on new). He will want to make this because it is not an everyday bread and butter seller. Most likely it will be on a commission basis , so he has everything to gain, no investment, no money tied up in that stock item so time taken to sell is irrelevant. The reality is the vast majority of second hand Ricks that ACTUALLY SELL privately are going for between £1000 and £1300. NB, female musical instrument retailers are available
 22.
MB1.
See I resisted, but you couldn't could you!
 23.
The shop I help in recently sold one of these that had also been set up as a passive (albeit a stacker). I totally agree that it works better in passive format. Great basses, great colour, great price, what's not to like
Yup and that one was stunning as well. As is the one you have left (normal rotaries). AS IS THIS ONE
 24.
Better quality alternatives.
Above, oh yes! Where do you live? I live in Wigan and have 1P, 1 P/J and 2 J's. More than welcome to come and have an hour or two pratting about on them. Not much use if you live in Southampton obviously, but I bet someone round there would make the same offer if they were aware.
