karlfer replied to Muzomatt's topic in Basses For Sale
Perfectly reasonable to ask openly if someone would consider an offer - but all discussions on price should be via PM, hence I've edited a couple of posts above
And this from a MOD with the R word in his avatar!!!!!!!!!!! Stunning bass. Bermp as Mr Sellers would say. -
Mid set action check.
An explanation of that move is given above the same photo,in my "For Sale " thread for that Geddy. How's that for a completely shameless plug And yes, that is a big shirt. I'm going to change it into a dress, but that's another story

Loud and proud today. The bass player on before me had his two Ampeg 410's throught the PA. I was not jealous. My tshirt was bigger than his rig (EBAY order after the pub
Because I had an email saying "Your cab is almost finished, full payment is now due" Followed by silence, then after I chased it, a rather brusque one saying they are short staffed after Alex injured himself on his bike. Just the thousand pounds of my money!!!
I had similar delays, frustrations and also the same feelings about having to pay up front. I got the feeling at times that Alex's customer skills were similar to that of a stereotypical mad professor (no offense intended Alex). Even worse, after it finally arrived, I didn't like the sound and wanted my Schroeder 410BMF back. Then, after about 4 gigs, it started playing nice and I very much doubt I would go back to anything else. If anybody doesn't like the asthetics, don't buy the bloody things. Me, my back and my fingers are delighted at the 40/50 gigs we do per annum. As are my ears. Expensive, not to everybodies taste, but a great compromise in all areas that count.

Yes because for instance somebody selling another bass of around the same value, can not say they would seriously consider trading with one of the unmentionables. Sadly as we all know the owners were put in a position where they had little choice, for the benefit of the majority. We need a secret handshake kinda section of Basschat . In the meantime OP, you have suggestions and I'm sure some of us will keep an ear open.

Gumtree, Preloved, one of the local Faecesbook music gear sale pages. On those sites you can also stipulate if you would accept trades. Bit trickier to stipulate that on FEEBay. It is a shame it went the way it did as I think Basschatters missed out on sales and trades through no fault of their own. Just remember when you see an example of said bass on FEEBay at £1500; 1. It is likely that price to cover about £130 of fees. 2. It is also unlikely to sell. Part ex or lower price may be the order of the day for a quick transaction. Good luck.

Somebody thought they don't look good. I think mine looked very nice at Milnrow WMC last night. I think it will also look quite nice on a much bigger stage tomorrow at the Rock The Lakes Festival. But I KNOW it will sound great to me, every time I use it

Sorry, bit of a naughty bump, but been thinking about this. In the absence of any really firm offers, going to put this on FEEBay tomorrow night I think. Would strongly conside offers of Jazz or P, with cash possible either way. Or even the bass that has no name It will go on there at a higher cash price to cover costs. Thought I'd take them out just to show they are perfectly giggable. Milnrow WMC last night. Same rig and basses will be used for the Rock The Lakes Festival tomorrow. Are basses selling better on eBay rather than here because......
karlfer replied to bagsieblue's topic in General Discussion
I think I'm going to try FEEBay for my Bleached Blonde Warwick. I've had a couple of good tentative offers but they are all relying on selling some of their own gear. I'm not, however, going to put my Geddy on there. With it being almost new, I would have to hike the price to about £630 plus delivery, just to cover my costs. That is only a saving of £130 over new, so unlikely to be worth people having a go. Decisions decisions -

Least precise precision bass ever?

Is MDP bidding on this? -

Cheers MB1 Thanks Norm, but I've had an offer of hugs on Faecesbook Tom, I do think you would like it. Very light, well balanced, great action and neck and beautifully crafted in Germany. In light of other stuff, perhaps I should have put the trade value somewhat higher. But, I didn't and I won't . If I have comparatively undervalued it, so be it. i paid £1100 for it, happy for that to be the trade value, or £1000 cash. Cheers, Karl.

SOLD! Sadowsky MV4-HPJ (Hybrid PJ) Natural body, Maple board
karlfer replied to Quatschmacher's topic in Basses For Sale
All you can do is hang on really Peter. It's a tough market at best and middle of the holiday season doesn't help. I would love this but my AV62RI wasn't what you are looking for and my USA White Precision is maple board. My Warwick Bleached Blonde is the correct nut width but nowhere near what you are looking for. I will be back in touch if I sell the Warwick or my Geddy Lee. No doubt there are others trying to sell to fund purchasing this bass. Like my Warwick, it is a lot of money, even though it's a good price for what it is. It takes people time to find a lot of money. Hang on in there dude, Karl. -
