1.
James Jamerson - p bass Norman watt Roy - j bass I regard to Steve Harris' sig, wasn't his number 1 sparkly blue at some point in the past? Also I would think it would sell more in blue sparkle than with a flippin west ham logo on it
I'm going to put a Newcastle sticker on my black/white/maple Glaub
2.
I did that......It ate my t-shirt lol
3.
Didn't say they did
You are right, you didn't, I'm a tit , back to my hole.
4. Fumps, think we are cross purposes. I'll ignore the sarcasm font if you don't mind I am more than happy that the sales fora fees are going to help keep the site running AND DEVELOPING. Whichever way funding is brought about, some folk will be unhappy. At least with this way people are not getting charged a membership for all the other areas that we have. I don't decry the charging system, merely pointed out, like many others have pointed out, that some are unhappy with paying up front to place an advert for an item that may not sell. I think that is more a reason for some folk to be cautious. I am such a mind changing gear tart I had no choice but to happily fork out my £20.
5. I made a mirror plate from the original white one, covered with what is basically sticky back plastic. A Stanley knife and 15 minutes and I was done. Can't find a "flat" gold sticky back plastic though!. When I sold the bass, I took the mirror effect sticky back plastic off. No residue, good as new. 6. Steve Harris, white P, mirror plate, Hammers sticker. Why on earth his sig is blue is beyond me. (notice, no comment on the R bomb?, oops, I just did).
7. WOT, not everybody spends more than £20 in a weekend in the pub. The only time I go to the pub is when I'm gigging. It was an Englishman's right to go to the pub for centuries, but it is now the wealthy Englishman's right. Risingson, second hand may be slow everywhere, however my last three items have brought only interest on here. All three were on hold within a couple of days of going on Bumtree. Conan, bit naughty fella, glad you have changed your mind a bit. Fumps, as we all know, FEEBay only charge after you have sold, not before. On a wider note, the fee was introduced on the sales fora, however, it was, in my understanding, to benefit the whole site? Karl.
8. Hello Dood, sorry to pester but is the fretboard rosewood? Also, I'm a bit dozy but where is the trussrod adjustment access? Cheers, Karl.
9. Thunderbird, if you think people ask a lot for there stuff here, you are right,in a small number of cases. But have a look on some of the free sites £450 for an Epiphone Explorer £700 for a Japanese 57 RI £800 for a 5 year old US Precision £750 for a 10 year old US jazz In general buyers on here get an excellent deal.
10.
oh and personally I took the £20 fee as a sign that I should stop swapping basses around so much!
11. Well he was on this morning, but no comment from him?
12. I get the feeling an S12T may be up for sale before too long I miss my Schro 410 BMF so much, but with narrow doors in the house, I don't miss leaving my knuckles on the door frames at 2 am. Mind, they are bad enough from me perpetually scraping them on the floor when I walk
13. Yup. The point I was trying to make was I used to be able to say to a FEEBayer; "Nice bass, you want to try selling it on Basschat, it costs nothing to join, or to put an ad up for your bass" Obviously I can't do that now. Mind the prices some goons put out on Bumtree and FreeLoved, they are obviously not considering that the same price on FEEBay has about 13.5% to come off in fees.
14. If I saw an interesting bass on Feebay, from somebody who obviously didn't know about Basschat, I would point them in this direction. I don't do that now, because of the fees on here. I probably put 15/20 new members our way last year. My Alembic is on hold to a guy from Bumtree who is coming back next Saturday with the cash. If a very good conditioned Alembic doesn't go on here for £1000 it perhaps shows hard times? I did have A LOT of offers for exchange here, but the only suitable offer was another guy from Bumtree. Perhaps most of us on here have filled our boots anyway?
15. Jeso, how hard can it be? It doesn't need anything other than an IQ equal to a poodle. Luggage scales with hook. Tie a yellow ribbon round the neck of the bass and gently hang bass off ribbon.
16. Tosspots Go To Cricklewood, meh, hated them (just pointing out the other view )
17.
I'm sure the post office is near you
Think no shipping includes the Post Office. Makes no difference sadly, it will be gone before my Alembic sells
18. A "you could have picked a better time to join Basschat " bump.
19. Got my mojo working is a definite must!
20.
No shipping really ??? Why am I living in France ???!!!!!!
Trust me fella, it would be quicker for you to drive from France than it will be for me from Wigan You want it, you gotta go the extra mile
21. Right Dood. I was determined to get down to two basses, but I am going to attempt to sell my soul for this. I would like to offer a straight swap for my Alembic Epic. Unlikely, but as you don't directly (yet) say no to trades, I had to try. There are 5 people interested in my Epic but nobody has come up with the loot yet, hence offer for trade. Good luck regardless, that bass is amazing. Karl. Alembic link http://basschat.co.u...aro-walnut-top/ Near Norwich is about 5 hours for me, but I will do it if I am offered!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (where's the emoticon for begging?)
