But that was because the tail lift was a "registered trademark." Not to mention the intonation and saddle adjustment problems. But hey, come on, that's worth paying for isn't it?!!
And the odd fretboard flying off , the Blue Boy stain, and a big problem with the 4004's that I can't remember
That'd be 19,999. At least one person thinks JH is the good guy in all this
C'mon Rich, 'fess up

It would be so much easier to take if Mr. Hall backed off private, individual sales of 60's/70's/80's made basses. It's making private people suffer for buying something that was legitimate at the time. I wonder how long Mr. Hall will continue to hack off an element of over 20,000 bass players in our little tin pot land

A bad week. RIP Trevor.
i dont normally comment on sales treads unless i have an interest (which i don't) but this is a silly price for one of these beasts.... some1 is gonna get a great deal here.... good luck but i dont think this will need it!....ahh hang on thought it was the other attitude... none the less a nice looking bit of kit.
Yup, I'm kinda trying to point out at all posts that this is the Special, not one of the 3 LTD series . That's why it's not around £1000.

In response to questions here and elsewhere 1.The video. We are doing a festival later in the year. Of all the bands on, we were the only one without any kind of video. The organisers asked us to do one for their site. 2. The scratchplate is not original. The original was in Aurora Projects when they went bust. This is a quality custom made (Richie Tomson Guitars) replacement. 3. I will consider shipping abroad, however, NO PAINPal, money must clear my bank account first. Buyer must arrange their own courier and insurance. I have shipped to Italy and Poland. Both were a nightmare (one "got lost " at an airport for THREE weeks) so I am reluctant. Everything answered I think. Cheers, Karl.

For people with more than 1 bass...
karlfer replied to RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE's topic in General Discussion
I'm currently at 4. Had bad GAS for last 3 years due to this place I want to get down to 3, although I only need 2. I always gig with a spare on it's stand, simply to speed up a change if I break a string. I did exactly that a month ago, first string I 've broken live for over 30 years -

The fret board inlays are the same as on the expensive LTD's, just the top frets are not scalloped. Other differences to the LTD series are no d-tuner, no twin inputs and the pick ups are generic Yamaha, not DiMarzio's. Still extremely powerful. These actually seem to come up less frequently than the more expensive LTD's. Pushing £700 cheaper than most LTD's seem to go for, they are not a bad deal . Of course a buyer could break out the Dremmel, change the pups, route out/put in second input and put on a d-tuner, probably for less than £700

Aw shucks fellas, very kind. Below link to a "showcase" video recorded live. Select HD. Mix is somewhat none bass friendly but you can just about hear it. The video also appears to stick somewhat. But you can see what this poor old workhorse has been subjected to over 500 times http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqXzSj3qLx4&feature=player_embedded

NOT A LTD 1, 2, OR 3. IF it was it would be £1000 plus I was never going to sell this. Previous owner did about 400 gigs with it, I've done about 150. Somebody was asking for one and decided more than anything, now I have the Warwick, this is simply not going to get used. Lots of little scratches, one major ding. Just over 9lb, 39mm nut. Woofer at neck, P in middle, controls (from neck backwards) woofer vol, woofer tone, P volume. At some stage it has had a Hipshot drop tuner. That's gone but the holes are still in the back of the headstock. Back of the neck is discoloured by sweat. Paint worn through both sides of body where your right arm rests. Sounds from almost double bass to very snarly growly. Unlike the expensive Attitude, no scallops or twin inputs. 5000 made in 1995, most never left Asia, the RRP of these in UK in 1995 was £600. Signed by Billy front and back, although it is fading. £320 collected from Wigan, £340 couriered, sorry, no PAINPal. Cleared cheque, cash on collection or bank transfer only. UK only and no trades on this thanks. Thanks for looking, anybody close enough more than welcome to come and try. My feedback linked in red below.
The colour is certainly not original. The jazz pickup is not original. The lack of markers on the fretboard is highly suspicious - the seller's suggestion that it may have been fretless originally doesn't ring true to me. Pictures of the pots will undoubtedly show that they're not original - they can't be because of the added pickup. And for the same reason the pickguard cannot be original as 70s Fenders only had two knob guards. At best you might have a few bits of a 70s P but it's not worth very much IMO
Good grief, I was pretty much right then. Not like me!

Turks Head Darlington about 1980 H|H, Kasuga Faker, South Park Darlington 1980, Kasuga Faker, Acoustic combo (not mine) Middlesbrough Rock Garden 1981, Peavey T40, H|H, The Bath, Morecambe, 2012, Fender FSR Shuttle 6, Schro 410BMF. By the way, the guitarist on the right in the first three moved away. He has now played with our very own Dr Dave for about 15 years I think. Edit, oh Sod it, based on every dog has it's day, and excerpt from Vic Reeves Me:Moir

I know a bit but no expert. 1. Almost guarentee that is a re-fin 2. Not sure about neck/fretboard from those pics but highly dubious it came out of the factory like that. IF it came out of the Fender factory. 3. Pickguard should have a label underneath with the same serial number as headstock. 4. Jazz pup and extra rotary are definitely after market additions. I would be wanting photos of neck off, pickguard off and close up of pots as I really not sure how much, if any, of a Fender 70's P is left. Someone who knows a lot more than me will comment before long I would guess. Karl.
