1.
Working on the wife as we speak....
Too much info cocco
2. Welcome to the forum, beware the GAS
3. Glorius Sadowsky. Mark, doubt you will have much trouble moving that P on
4. No doubt there is something about these guys on here somewhere because I am always the last to know, but, just in case. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AaP__M_xxH8
5. He put it up on the Warwick site on Friday. It is $2250 on there. He can put it out at any price he likes but selling it is a very different matter
6. Thank you for that. I will get in touch if my Rick goes in time (hopefully this week)>
7. He hasn't been online since Feb 20th, so perhaps he needs a PM to get some answers?
8.
Quite a few 'fakers had the gap in the binding, including Matsumoku made basses which also had twin truss rods.
Thanks Musky. Knew about the twin rods but not the binding. Bit more knowledge gained
9. That is amazing. Judging by the photos I (briefly) saw on the first Gumtree ad, your bass has a gap in the binding behind the bridge. Ricks have that but I have not seen as faker with that.
10. Presumably the Ibby. I would like to know if this is a faker with two truss rods? They have been made, so I am curious and yes I have a reason for asking.
11. Horses for courses I guess, but perhaps something to do with the cost of a new Rick generally being higher. By the way, one of the 4004LK (Lemmy Kilminster, like mine but carved up ) sold for $11500 on FEEBay just before Christmas
12. Just curious. I have half a dozen interested in my Rick, but as yet it's not sold and even if this hasn't gone, I can't move until the Rick goes. Many thanks for your help though cheers, Karl.
13. You got nowt better to do, nudge nudge wink wink
14. I am in stroppy git mode today so please forgive (33rd wedding anniversary has nothing to do with it . I am sure it has been mooted in the last 17 pages but why do members of the Royal Philharmonic want to be in a covers band?
15.
All 4 string MMs are made in Japan, but tbh they're at least as good as USA one's if my experience of other Japanese Fenders is to go by
Not now they ain't, production was switched to Mexico last year, same as Geddys
16.
Its a great hobby to have. Started in original material bands, after years of slog realised I was never gonna get the success I wanted. Stopped playing a while then asked to join a covers band. Tried it and loved it. Have no delusions over where it might lead but play to some amazing crowds, absolutely love it and even make a few quid to reinvest in new gear of course! Andy
This, perfectly stated.
17. In my 50's, still doing 40+ gigs per year, I'm just about good enough to play the covers we do convincingly. Thankfully the live track we have just put on our website comes badly mixed under the title "bassist seen and not heard" Frustrations? Would love to do a few gigs with a prog band. Would love to set up a " rock and roll" covers band, everything from Haley through Beatles, T Rex, Quo, Shaky to Paulo Nutini. Excuses? Time and effort, ie not making either available. And I haven't been arsed writing my own stuff for a decade. Who's a miserable old Hector then?
18. My neck hurts just watching that hair advert!
19.
Black one here... http://www.ebay.co.u...221202676750%26
That one was up last week
20. Absolutely gutted for you. Small consolation but it will be worth the extended wait. Again, small consolation but at least it will have been properly insured. It really does , once again, show that if you are moving stuff about, it MUST be fully insured. Sorry you are going to have to go through this. All the best, Karl.
21. We are doing a festival later in the year and were asked for a video for their website. So, one snowy night at a gig in Burnley..... (warning, boring old farts, bum notes, predicable song that crowd likes, blah). If you are daft enough to look please switch to 720HD whatever that means http://www.youtube.c...e&v=XC2COqT6OPs
