1.
It's exciting though, isn't it? You're one step closer to being a caravan owner.
Yellow card!

PM's replied, particular thanks to Muzz and Ivan. Muzz, your fantastic Warmoth is so tempting but I am trying to be sensible You know that may not last
4. Holy mother of toilet seat . The Glitter Band would have been proud
5. Don't use the S1 switch. Just a normal passive Fender without it on!
6. Seeing as there is no value put up for the Vigier, I would like to offer my Lakland DJ4 as a straight swap, link follows. I would even come to Co Durham to do the swap. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/199696-lakland-skyline-dj-4-lake-placid-blue-rosewood-board-mop-blocks/

Hello. Heavy heart, blah. Just don't use it. Band I've been in for last 3 years needs a Precision. Hopefully a link to specs and photos follow. Made late 2008, Korea, I bought it new, first owner Jan 2010. Only blemish is 2 patches of very slight marks on back of neck. A drunken sound engineer fell over and knocked a Precision over. The strings of the P bounced off the back of the neck on this bass, leaving a couple of bits of tiny indentations. They do not show up on photographs. This has the Lakland pups, Lakland gig bag, truss rod and saddle keys. Original white scratchplate also included I am only looking for a latest model USA Precision, white, maple board, case etc. MAY be tempted by an excellent Warwick (German) Thumb bolt on. Fortress Flashback or possibly Dolphin. I am based in Wigan, happy to meet or both organise own courier. Please read my feedback. I have to put a trade value up, so to me it's £700. Any questions welcome as are any trials if you are local enough. Rig and biscuits await. Welcome to Lakland
8. Why does this come up now Anyway, I would like to offer Chromium Red USA Precision 2004 with S1 switching, maple board, black scratchplate, hardcase. Both ashtrays and tug bar. Excellent condition, just some hard to see swirling on the back That lot plus £150 for your Att and I would come to you saving you all that hassle. Worth a try and good luck regardless. Karl.
9. Absolute absolute bargain MB1, should keep it at that price fella. Somebody is going to be very happy with a piece of kit as good as this at a price as low as this. Get in before he changes his mind peeps.

11. I changed cabs that many times last year they should have invited me to the Christmas do Seriously though, brilliant products and fantastic service. Well done them!
12. Please don't be a smart arse and check my Ebay deals, as you may find out the bass I have put on here at £999, I bought on EBAY two weeks ago for £675. (no, not me, just giving an example)
13.
How I miss the days of Howard (The Bass Doc)'s Bass Place in Newcastle. You could doss around all day, plunking about on basses whilst passively smoking 1,000 tabs. It was a social hub.
Funny isn't it. I've only just twigged this, but as a much younger bloke I used to go there a dozen times a year, from Darlington. Remember one I bought there was a Music Man with a JD neck. Another one I should never have sold on.
14.
Sure fire route to bankruptcy if there is no profit margin! The Gallery has London rental/rates costs plus the cost of holding many hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of inventory let alone the salaries of the staff. If they only ever price matched high volume web retailers (without these costs and with economies of scale) they would soon be in difficulties I suspect. Clearly they make money on items that cannot be price matched (eg, second hand basses or Martin's Sei basses) but even so. Regarding Luke/Karlfer's comments, maybe they should remove the explicit price matching advertising and only conduct this verbally on items on whic there will still be margin involved? But thats their decision
Clarky, you are right about them removing price match. Unsavoury companies advertise product they don't have in stock, to draw you into communication/sales techniques etc. I would really expect more from The Bass Gallery. The fact that both before and after Alex's email back to me, they were advertising this bass on price match, and advertising it as in stock, leaves a bad taste. If it is a mistake, admit it, remove the parts of the ad necessary and carry on. I am sure it is not intentional.
15.
nah if you work in a shop, especially a closed door shop like the gallery just having one customer is way way more akward - you don't want to be too pushy or sell, you don't know the person or what they are into or anything - or know what they are after - for something like basses if it were me I would be happier letting the customer have a look and strike up a convo if they wanted- expecting the poor fella to do a starbucks style 'how are you, whats your name' with every idiot who comes off the street is unfair. Yeah they could be better at the banter - but they don't trade on the banter. Hi small independent shop, one of your products was bought en mass by a major chain store competitor so they can offer it cheaper, and they've had their stock for ages to slashed the prices to try and shift it.... will you match that price by lopping off 30% off the price (ie your profit) for me? - no, you don't have any in stock, oh poor show
Sorry Luke, you are missing the point, which is very unusual for you. They advertise price match. They advertised the bass was in stock. They still advertise price match. They still advertise the bass is in stock. In fact none of the adverts have changed, it just seemed that the only time they didn't have that bass in stock was when I asked about price match. It doesn't matter what field and wether big or small retailer, there are advertising codes. If you have no intention of doing something, do not advertise to the contrary. If you advertise to the contrary, you may have to at least take some criticism. Karl.
16. Mixed feelings, Martin built me a SEI. Long gone in financially challenged times. Two weeks ago, emailed them re Lakland 44-51. On price match. They were advertising them at £1049, Guitar Guitar at £699. Asked Bass Gallery if they would price match as would prefer to buy from them. Reply from Alex was they had none in stock. strange as they were advertised as in stock, top of the Lakland list of in stock products! Oh, and they still are. Mind it was the day before Geddys Nose's Alembic Epic came up and the rest is history. Still, poor show from The Bass Gallery.
17. He has not been online since Nov 20th so it has probably gone. Best way to try and find out is PM him?
18. Cracking gig at the Flying Horse in Rochdale, marvellous place that still gets packed out. I rarely venture onto this page, but it was a disappointing night for me. Spent the last two weeks gently working in my only ever new cab, a newly acquired Barefaced S12V. Despite thinking it would be broken in, 1st set farting out with the Yamaha. Cutting bass and mids helped a bit, but not a lot. Second set used my Precision, which in fairness was a good bit better. Neither bass is active. The big disappointment with the P was that I had to increase the master volume around 40% to get the same volume as I used to get with my Schroeder 410BMF. Live and (expensively) learn. Karl.
19.
So what? Ringo wasn't an original either. Total respect to you Sir!!!
Oh yus!
20. Nice, but far too much for bolt neck Arbiter. I also seem to remember Aria managed the word Aria in the UK at the time http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/300858481903?roken=W5R9nV
21.
. Oh, sh*t! I thought he was already 19! Now I must go back, apologise and edit my posts. best, bert
Naaarrggh (translation from Wigan-ese, don't bother old chap )
22. So reading between the lines SteveK was in The Rubettes? Respect!! with no piss taking. I seem to remember they were all proper session musos and the harmonies were the Poodles Privates.
