1. I would have this like a shot if it were 4ohms. The only 4 ohm one on here is £200 more, so this really is a bargain.
2. Back up for sale. Precision width at nut not for Muzz, but many thanks Muzz for being decisive.
3. I nearly pulled the trigger on this last time, fantastic price, I paid about £700 for a new one back in the 90's. With that piezo these things can really scream out metal, but can also thump like a 60's. Send it out on trial to Tom (1946) bet you get a bank transfer back . Anybody that doesn't like the neck, replace it, would look nice with a maple board. Lovely.
4. So this is in the Gallery at £1000 but you would take £650? Theres a Mark bass 410 on here for that
5.
Remember seeing the Ziggy Stardust Tour at Newcastle City Hall in 1972. Never seen anything like it before or since!
You and me both, fabulous. Seem to remember it was only a few weeks after Zepp were there. We knew how to dress in'72 matey boy
6. Furry nuff WH, points eloquently made, but sorry it's going to get worse, he is about to join BC Oh, he's looking for a trade with a quality 5 string
7.
Well that's just made at least a few more bassists aware of it... if anyone else was sitting hoping to bag it as a bargain, this thread may well blow the chance of that.
Not like you WH
8. Fab bass, go on somebody get some in. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4604c146d5
9. OK this is currently on hold and I have emailed the member concerned regarding the following. For reasons of eye candy I looked at the photos on the Ebay auction. I finally read the description. Hadn't before as I knew the specs on these basses and I assumed the specs had been downloaded from the Epiphone web site. If they have, they are WRONG on 3 counts. 1. Says nut width 1.5 inch, wrong, every Explorer I have seen has always been P width. 2. Says 20 frets, wrong, they have always been to my knowledge 22 frets 3. Says 3 point bridge, again wrong, the only Explorer I have seen with a 3 point bridge is the recent Gibson re- issue. These have a slightly higher mass Fender style bridge, better than the usual Fender and the Gibson 3 point (ala Thunderbird). The original, 3 year run of Gibson Explorers had a superb bridge adjustable in every way with full body contact (why did I ever sell my original 1984 cream Gibson Explorer bass ). So, I would rather the sale fall through than the member traipse over to Wigan on an incorrect description. Watch this space. Cheers, Karl.
10. That head is just so . Somebody buy my EBS please. Our guitards have maroon Black Star stuff, it would just look so right and kick their asses
11.
I really, really shouldn't, but....PMd :)
And you really really haven't . Would Sir like to press the "Post" button next time
12.
MB1. Alright Karl The Ebay photos look a little like lysdexias photography without the scantily clad young ladies? What a downer ! hope you took this up with UPS?.
Yeah, the seller sorted it with UPS Martin. Photography is excellent, so me and my mobile aren't going to bother . I am getting a little insurance compensation so that's why I can do it so cheap. Recently they have gone for about £180, without gigbag, plus postage. They seem to be going up a bit as I think the last run was 2008. I won't be out of pocket and somebody with a little more patience than me can sort it. Or some one who is a lttle less of a tart than me can just black ink over it and get on with it .
13. Further PM's replied, some cracking gear (especially Patch006) offered but still holding out for a SENSIBLE close cash offer. Thanks for the interest folks, Karl.
14. Thanks Bob, having a think will get back to your PM later,if it's still here. Cheers, Karl.
15. Link to black Epiphone Explorer. I bought this off Ebay, UPS damaged it, chipped basses offend my eyes so it's gotta go. Although the auction is long finished the superb photos by Grant are still there if you scroll down. I was happy to take it knowing the two holes, where the strap buttons had been, needed a bit of plastic wood and black nail varnish. The later photo will show the large chip on the top horn which is why I am no longer happy with it. Everything on the bass is fine, these always have a brass nut and decent bridge, good electrics. Very good value for money bass currently out of production. This was made at the excellent Unsung factory in Korea in 2004. No offers on this, for whatever reason they are low value, too low for haggling. To sum up, the issues, big L shaped paint chip on top horn 2 holes to be filled where strap buttons have been moved around. I am including a brand new Explorer gig bag, which I ordered for it when the bass was on it's way to me. £120 collected from Wigan, £140 delivered mainland UK. Any questions or if you want to try it, come on round THE SPECIFICATIONS ON THE EBAY AD ARE WRONG, please see post #6. Edit, oops nearly Age-ist alert
16. Right, been looking at this for days now. Really want 10's but Hell, I'm weak. Long way from Wigan to Hull, would you consider couriering? Cheers, Karl.
17. Don't bet on it with the Royal Mail Dave, the M6 is cobbled round here and I'm having a bugger of a job getting the right mud for the walls on the bungalow . Mind, we do good pies. Anyway, thanks for first in line if you suss out what you are doing. I know the feeling, cheers, Karl.
18. Very interested subject to photos. Would you be willing to post to Wigan please? Cheers, Karl.
19.
hi people, getting alot of watchers on ebay again but still no sale, if your interested but havnt got the money or cant afford it right now, dont be afraid to pm me and let me know your interest. Also does anybody reccommend any alternative forums, sites or places to advertise this sale where i mite find a buyer or a sheehan fan looking for an attitude as i need to sell it asap. I dont normally want or have to sell my basses so im not sure where the best places to try and sell it are, if anyone can give me any advice regarding this specific bass i would be really grateful, cheers.
There is a Yamaha Attitude Ltd page on Facebook dedicated to this bass. I should know, I was kicked off if for mentioning the F word (Fender ). Sold one of mine through there, the other through here. Good luck.
20. It's around 5 years old. The previous owner was the original owner, rather well off chap from Rickmansworth, with some amazing gear. He told me he had done about a dozen gigs with it in the 4 years or so he had it. All village fete stuff. He had it married to a Berg 15 and a Berg HT322. I've probably done about the same in the few months I've had it. The photos aren't great but I think they show the head is in very good condition. I can't see any marks/scuffs on front or back.
21. I don't really know how to download. I've watched great old vid's (Camel, Curved Air, Tull, allsorts) on Youtube, free. I've downloaded bass tab free, I play covers in a band (though the pubs usually are PRS). I do think it's really sad that young folks who have their dreams, have laboured over their music, have found it's gone viral, yet get nothing for it. In my day you simply couldn't get to that level of exposure IN YEARS. I don't know what the answer is but I do think if people enjoy, perhaps morally they should contribute. Bring on Skank and Dr. Dave I say
22. Very nice, very tempting, will I never learn? Good luck Karl (ex Brightons, no, not the nick ).
23. Ash always has top gear (always tempting me, and yet again with the Geddy ) so deal with confidence. I am in quiet negotiations for something else or I'd be in. Good luck Ash, Karl.
