1. Know what you mean, one of the guys I work with lives in Inverness itself and it is always more expensive to send stuff to him by Paisley Freight, the only area they let me down in. Possibly they think a new time zone starts at Perth . I will certainly get quotes from Parcel Force if it does end up going there, (mind, I'm in Dunfermline on Tuesday ). Cheers, Karl.
2. Thanks Hutton, wasn't aware of that. I will get quotes if needed, but I've always found Parcel Force to be more expensive and less reliable than Paisley Freight. Cheers, Karl.
3. Unbelievable . RIP, joybringer. Karl.
4. Sorry for delay, gigging last night. Thanks for the kind comments guys, and PM's replied in chronological order "(ooo er, get me with the big words ). Joe, you are in pole position, will let you other guys know, sorry. Cheers, Karl. Edit. Hells Bells, just seen the news about Duck
5. I withdrew this a couple of weeks ago due to my feedback taking a hit. Things happen and I find myself in a position where I need to fund a Lakland Bob Glaub or Duck Dunn. As a result this is back up. 1998 FENDER Donald Duck Dunn Precision Bass, Candy Apple Red, maple neck, board, anodised gold coloured scratchplate. Only 1000 ever made,Crafted In Japan. 150 made it to the states, the rest, who knows? I have not seen one on here in three years, nor have I seen one on FEEBay. Based on one of his 58's. Generally very good condition but the only previous owner (bought new from Oasis in Jan 1999) gigged it heavily and it does show a little. Issues. Some marking on neck between 4/7th fret, G string side. Gold colouring on scratchplate a little faded in parts. Bridge screws have some rust on them. Nasty little dink and a couple of scratches on top horn, front. Pick up is not original, as aren't pots. Its a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder SP3, The original pick up/pots are included in the sale price. Tuners are replaced with current Kluson reverse which are period correct. Again I have the originals and they are included in the sale price. 42 mm nut 7.5 inch radius, about 8lb 2oz. £550 collected from Wigan, £570 couriered after funds clear. This will include a tatty but perfectly functional Thomann hard case. Sorry, no PAINPal and definitely UK/Eire only (sorry guys but Scottish Highlands and Eire/NI will be more than £20 to deliver.) Please, any questions just ask, I need to get my feedback back on line. Cheers, Karl.
6. Lloyd's and absolute top bloke and bassist and looks after his gear with slightly obsessive tendencies. Buy or trade, you will be happy. Good luck mate. Karl.
7.
Seeing as we are declaring our vested interests. I once took this bass... ... and turned it into this bass (same neck and body) and yes that's a Fender decal.... I'm ready for my punishment.
I'm on Sabbatical from posting (bad feedback issue) but I'm moved to say, "you guys have the debate, I'm in love with something blue white and maple and I don't care who's illegitimate offspring it is"
8. Buy it Muzz, so that you need some money coming in Bugger, just remembered you've just sold the Lakkie
9. I am on Sabbatical from commenting on here, however I'd Walk the Earth for this one. Pun intended. BIG fan! Off to find something to flog.
10. Withdrawn, will be going on the Bay in the hope that I sell it whilst the FenderBird is up for sale. After my feedback went belly up, pointless me trying to move anything on on here. Thanks for everything peeps, Karl.
11. I never took it apart. Fine, if that's plywood, it's plywood. I obviously assumed wrongly. Send it back to me.
12. Anybody considering this bass needs to read my feedback carefully as there is now a negative comment. . Karl.
13.
I have bought a rick copy from this guy, and everything was fine, great contact, quick shipping and i even recieved some extras. There is one issue - he told me that this is solid body but this is plywood. I gently informed him about it that i wouldn't pay that much for ply and i think this is not fair, and he became angry and told me to ship it back, and said that he will never send anything outside UK. Why? I SHOULD BE ANGRY not him. I wasted a week waiting or package and now next week waiting for money. I think it would be better and cheaper if he will refund me 50GBP. And i can delete this post earlier.
Do not delete this post or the 3 PAGES of PM's between us. I can speak for myself and I certainly won't bow to what seems to be thinly veiled blackmail. You say it's plywood, I believe it is not. I am under the understanding that Kasuga never made plywood basses. I have offered you a full refund including the cost of couriering back to me. You have posted in the wanted section for Japanese basses, plural. I know that Rickenbacker copy basses go for the equivalent of 700 Euros in Poland. I wouldn't like to jump to conclusions. I am not surprised that you have decided a £50 refund would solve this matter. It doesn't for me! I have offered you more back than is legally required. Send me the bass back and I will refund if it arrives in the condition I sent it to you. The Mods no doubt will have access to my PM's, if not, I am quite happy to print off, scan and send to them. This is only the second time I have sold anything outside of the UK and Ireland. I can only speak as I find, both of those transactions have been nightmares. And yes, I am upset! Karl Original ebay advert of this very bass. http://cgi.ebay.co.u...em=330680516684 Edit, quote Julius, Facebook, Poland; "I didn't even ask for, just got offer 700€ - in my country it's normal price for Rikenfaker". You got a very good deal. You got a hard case, a Geddy Lee scratchplate and a strap, all thrown in, all not part of the original offer.
14. Sorry, will never again sell to anybody outside UK/Ireland so please don't ask.
15. Could well be Andy, I nicked the link off the chap who is selling a CIJ Precision . Non exports are really getting to be silly expensive now, with increased VAT, huge delivery costs from Japan, price increases in Japan and all the import duties that go on top. Those guys prices are pretty reasonable. 2 years ago a Japanese non-export 75 re-issue with matched head stock would cost about £960 to your door. Now it's nearer £1380. Second hand USA Fenders are currently tremendous value in the great scheme of things. Still, this DD is rare so difficult to judge against other prices. Huge interest (average 260 views per day for 10 day) but nobody with the cash. If Bob's FenderBird goes, this will be pulled. Cheers, Karl. (mind you, VERY tempted by Cameltoe's P, I'm such a tart )
16.
God i really want this... have a Bump mate.
Thank you kind Sir.
17. Pink jazzes look fantastic, especially with brown tortie 'plates. I'm 6ft 1 and ugly as sin but would be delighted to gig at the legendary Dog and Duck every Saturday night with this (my old Yamaha quells any trouble it really would hammer nails in ). Bump for a truly wonderful instrument.
18. Interesting link from one of the guys selling a Japanese P. http://www.mijfenders.com/frmBass.htm
19. Lovely, all it needs for perfection is a brown tortie 'plate(but heh, that's just my taste).
