Curious thing, Feebay. Karl.
3. Just get a tortie plate for, you know it makes sense . Karl.

5. Even if money wasn't an issue, the days of buying a vintage Fender are over for me. Below are just some of the reasons. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...t=0&start=0
6. That's brilliant fellas, many thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Cheers, Karl. Shame a silky hard lustre is a distant memory for me. Ooops, wrong forum .
7. Thanks for that HJ. As ever, expressed myself badly. Like you, both dials are set at around 9 o'clock when gigging. I hate the sound with the gain much past that, when it starts to do that break up/farty kinda thing. Guess I really meant more usable volume. Anyway, thanks to your guide, which even this dumb sh*t can follow, gonna get me some of them there valves ordered at the werekend, and jolly well give it a go . Cheers Jack, Karl.
8. Evening all, please advice Mr. Thick of Wigan. Just recently acquired a Yam bass. First thing it needs is the back of the neck/ side of fretboard seriously cleaning. This bass has really been worked in it's 16 years, and it's got 16 years worth of what I presume is ingrained sweat. I am thinking of very gently, slowly and patiently sanding down the back of the neck and side of fretboard. I remember reading somewhere years ago, about finishing this sort of thing off with several coatings of boiled Linseed Oil. Will be very grateful for any advice. Thanks in anticipation, cheers, Karl.
9. Just come across this thread, brilliant work HJ. Anybody know if this change gives more volume live (yes, I'm aware that is probably the dumbest question asked, but I only have the intelligence God gave me!) Karl.
10. Bump in the hope it goes before I get some spare loot. With respect to other members, Tom really is exceptional to deal with. Good luck fella. Karl.
11. Tom, stop this nonsense and give your head a shake (well, at least until I have some spare loot .) Karl.
12. Did the VAT increase in January also move prices up? Even if it didn't, that increase must have hit distribution and retailers costs. . Second hand is even more where it's at now. Karl.
13. Thanks for sharing Delberthot, kinda backs up my gut feeling. Shame didn't have Basschat when I lived in Brightons, couldv'e had a wee swallie. Karl.
14. The most annoying thing is the fiscal hypocrisy of FEEBay. They are quite happy for the Retrovibe, Bass Collection's California and the occasional (alleged) "Tokai" Rockinbetter. If it's a business customer. I actually think it is about time the scrotes were reported to Trading Standards or the Office of Fair Trading over this issue. Lets face it, we have plenty of evidence of their hypocrisy. It should be all or none. Karl.
15. So am I Tom. Only thing that put me off is the nut is far too recessed into the top of the neck. Something not right there. Asking the question of the seller, I was told all the guitars he sells are perfect, sadly he didn't answer my question as to wether the truss rod still worked, was maxed out, if the neck was twisted etc. So, I'm out. Karl.
16. Excellent WH. Shame you've been put through this worrying sh*t. Life's too short to be angry with people, but, RONZ, you are actually in the presence of people with a shared passion and generally a shared sense of decency. You seem to lack that. I will be in Aberdeen in July, perhaps we should meet up for a wee swalley and a discussion on ethics. Karl.
17. It is a shame that there is so much deflection going on. To alienate a good number of BC'ers and possibly the legendary Overwater by simply twisting and turning instead of cutting to the basic's, is a bit mis-guided in my opinion. OK, off the fence time, growing a spine time. WH has a fantastic reputation on here and I very much doubt he would jeopardise that. Hope it works out justly for you fella. Karl.
18.
MB1. The world was a much flatter place before Columbus!
.
19. Cheers Wayne, right on all counts I guess.
20. Price about right from what others have gone for. Seem to remember electric or battery chewing issue. Perhaps bit more research will help my memory, but it ain't gonna be tonight . Karl.
21. Went for £581, absolute steal, I would have bid more but it finished this morning when I was at work. .
22. Yup, and sometime just before I got home from work. On the day Gareth-Hughes received my jazz and said he was happy with it. 2 days after the wonderful Mod, JohnGH offered to pick it up from London for me. So, just hours to late to get this . Never mind, well done Nigel. Now, when can we have your next entertaining "for sale" thread? Karl.
23. He is a member, it's for sale on here as well.
