  1. It is a shame that there is so much deflection going on. To alienate a good number of BC'ers and possibly the legendary Overwater by simply twisting and turning instead of cutting to the basic's, is a bit mis-guided in my opinion. OK, off the fence time, growing a spine time. WH has a fantastic reputation on here and I very much doubt he would jeopardise that. Hope it works out justly for you fella. Karl.

  3. Cheers Wayne, right on all counts I guess.
  4. Price about right from what others have gone for. Seem to remember electric or battery chewing issue. Perhaps bit more research will help my memory, but it ain't gonna be tonight . Karl.
  5. Went for £581, absolute steal, I would have bid more but it finished this morning when I was at work. .
  6. Yup, and sometime just before I got home from work. On the day Gareth-Hughes received my jazz and said he was happy with it. 2 days after the wonderful Mod, JohnGH offered to pick it up from London for me. So, just hours to late to get this . Never mind, well done Nigel. Now, when can we have your next entertaining "for sale" thread? Karl.
  7. He is a member, it's for sale on here as well.
  8. Top bloke, well done Chris.
  9. Thanks for that Hillbilly, I think there is something slightly amiss, but it's nice to getr some agreement. Shame, it's a stunning looking jazz . Thanks for your help. Karl.
  10. Hope you can help folks. Please see attached photo's. This is something I'm looking to buy, as I am finding maple boards easier to play nowadays. The bullet truss rod seems to be too recessed into the neck. This gives rise to other concerns about the neck, twisted etc. Any ideas? Any questions I must ask the seller? Thanks in anticipation folks, Karl.

  12. Jolly good show chaps. Thought he was talking bollocks, but, as that's usually me, thought I'd invite in the knowledgeable ones.
  13. I could meet you in Brum, I'm playing there with Krupa this Saturday laugh.gif An "I'm sadly working Saturday, followed by gigging in Prestatyn on Saturday night" kinda bump .

  15. TIM. My '75 RI has gone to Gareth_Hughes. Thankfully you are a long way from me Nigel, because despite wanting a Duck Dunn, I know your bass is going to be; 1. Fantastic to play. 2. Stunning to look at. 3. Never worth any less?? than it is now. Import jobs are going up by the month. Just hope somebody hit's the buy it now button before I have to go down to Brum or somewhere. That will be too close for comfort . Karl.
  16. Watching like a hawk. Manchester only 20 minutes (well, on the rare occasion the motorway isn't shut ). Karl.
  17. [quote name='Steve_nottm' post='1216457' date='May 1 2011, 11:56 AM']I'm tempted by this but I'm really after a 75 reissue. It's the block inlays. This bass with blocks would be perfect. If I bought it I'd be looking at others with blocks and thinking I should have waited. 18. Just sold Gareth my '75 RI Jazz. Absolutely flawless mate, thanks for everything and enjoy. You are a delight to deal with. PS, jealous to death of the number of gigs you are doing. Speaks volumes about your capabilities. Karl.
  19. Amenra. Your response to my post "it's not actually wingnuts" has left me DUMBFOUNDED! Quote, "to be brutal all my equipment is from the ................ in London. If you require tech support please call Alex there on ................". Why on earth would I wish to ring a shop up to get an answer you could provide in seconds if only you could be arsed. Or are you the real Amenra? TECH SUPPORT? TO MEASURE A NUT ON A BASS ? What I required was; 1. You should know this basic information. 2. If you don't, get a tapemeasure and measure it. That should take all of one minute, most of that being to find a tapemeasure. It's the white bit going from one side of the fretboard to the other. I have circled it on your photo. I have gone public with my comments so that other people may be aware of the laziness they may come up against. Karl. edited for photo.
  20. QUOTE QUOTE Hello, sorry to trouble but, 1. Do you still have the Lakland Bob Glaub for sale? 2. If so, could you tell me if the nut width is 1.5 inches or 1.75. Many thanks, Karl. yes i have aznd Karl with the greatest respect to you I do not measure wing nuts etc it's standard check the wbsites cheers Thank you. It's not actually wing nuts, it is the width of the nut at the headstock end of the fretboard. These basses are made with either 1.5 inch nut, (jazz width) or 1.75 inch nut (precision width). Many of us with smaller hands struggle with the wider precision neck, which is why I asked the question. Thanks, Shame, I was really interested, having sold my jazz. Good luck with your sale.
  21. To be honest Séan, this time round there was a lot of interest. Very tempted particularly by Bubinga 5 and Steve_Nttm. On it's way to Gareth_hughes on Saturday, missed being able to do it tonight. Karl.
  22. Hi Darren, try doing a member search for Rickironwitch, know he was looking for a Rick copy, and he lives in Liverpool, so very close. Good luck, Karl.
