1. New photo's added in post # 12. FREE (tatty) hardcase now included if posted. UK delivery only. £330 including insured postage. Finances need to clear before bass is posted. £300 Collected from Wigan, in gigbag. CMI Rick copy, Feb 1976. I got this a couple of weeks before christmas for £285 plus delivery. That was a bargain. Gig bag included. I had been looking out for a bolt neck as you can do something about action etc, unlike neck through. I have since had it taken to pieces, shimmed, set up, tuner problem sorted. It now sports a black TRC with RickenFaker on it, as well as a black scratchplate. Original scratchplate and TRC included in the sale. It has a new set of Status flat wound 40-100's. Action is much better than when I got it. It has a lot of little chips, dings etc, it's lived some of it's 35 years. Reason for sale is I need a 2nd Orange SP212, my other 3 basses are workhorses, this is a lovely luxury. Yes, it does sound a lot like a standard Rick, but remember the classic sounds of Squires/Lee were a lot more than just the bass . I live in Wigan, I will meet up to 70 miles from Wigan. Sorry, as ever, photo's crap as it's just a phone. Edited to remove really crap photo's of black 'plate/TRC, will try to get better ones done. Any trial if you want to come round, any questions please just mail me. Cheers, Karl. 2. Good song, strong bass playing by a team player. Excellent.
3. Definitely '75 re-issue (blocks/binding/3bolt/microtilt/bullet truss) but a special run. Fantastic with the matching headstock, only thing mine is missing. . Thanks for bringing that bass into our world Clarky , Karl.

5. At that price the only P it is , is taking the P.
6.
And you also realise that our very own Craig Martini is the bassist in Gilbert's band, and is the bassist in the clip?
Mucho respect here, that bass line took me months to learn as a kid. I am really grateful for this vid, as our lead guitard is a monster Gilbert fan and this gives me much more leverage to get Roundabout onto the set list Cheers Craig Martini (not one hint of jealousy ) Karl.
7. Wonder if it's inspired by Roger Dean's ironing board (age being shown alert). Karl.
8.
A useless lump of wood to my eye. And design/built by someone who doesn't have a full palette of fretting techniques.
I think you are being too kind Karl.

10. This time last year I was skint. I sold a jazz that I had owned for nearly 30 years. It was too valuable to gig anymore and too valuable to sit in the house. I now have 3 recent-ish workhorse basses that were relatively inexpensive that do as good a job as I am capable of producing. I also have a '76 Rickenfaker which is the least used and will probably be going to help fund a second Orange cab. I used to get emotionally attached, but not any longer. I hope circumstance get better for you (bloody hell, there's a lot of "I" in that ). Good luck, Karl.
11. £1000 for a Mexican Jazz. I'll have a pint of what he's drinking Karl.
12.
Well, mine are both now on hold for BCers. I will still have my Electra build with the Warwick neck. I am swapping two active German Corvettes, a $$ and a Standard Ash fretless for one of these http://www.fenderjapan.co.jp/jb66b.html Yes, maybe I am mad, but I will stop at nothing to get it! You will probably see it in a for sale thread in six months
Enjoy Nige, I have the '75 Japanese non export RI and love it to death. Mind, always liked the short lived Fortress Flashback . Karl.
13. Wait 'til the the daft lads get in from work, I think it may turn into "one of them threads" Karl.
14.
Interesting, and possibly should be being discussed elsewhere, but - I don't scrupulously clean my basses that often, just a wipe over from time to time, however I wouldn't consider selling a bass that wasn't immaculately clean,. Personally I find it f*cking vile to buy an instrument & then have to spent hours scraping some disgusting sod's encrusted filth off it before I can stomach playing it. Maybe that's just me but it happens a lot. Jon.
Doesn't that fence hurt your arse Jon ? Karl.
15. The white '75 RI, blocks and binding, in my sig, is one from Tom. If you are very nice to me, you may get it. IN MY WILL! . Deal with supreme confidence peeps. Karl.
16. Genius, pissed myself Karl.
17. My opinion (for what it's worth) is that is a very keen price for that bass. Luvverly! Welcome to Basschat and good luck. Karl
18. AAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. STOP IT Karl.
19. Used it, been good. Karl.
20. Done. Good luck fella's. Karl.
21. Deal with confidence peeps, Justin's a top bloke who really looks after his gear. All the best with this mate, I was sorely tempted myself , Cheers, Karl.
22. Now traded for Lloyd's Orange Terror/SP212. Masive cheers fella . Watch put for my Rickenfaker coming up soon, to help fund a 2nd SP212. Cheers, Karl.
23. Traded for Lloyd's Orange rig, massive cheers fella . Watch out for my Rickenfaker probably coming up for sale to fund a 2nd SP212. Karl.
24. Just traded my Eden/SWR rig for Lloyd's Orange Terror/SP212. Highly recommended. Fantastic bloke, great bass player, very easy transaction. Many thanks and enjoy Lloyd, will see you at a Phoenix gig very soon, cheers, Karl.
25.
It exactly what im after too mate, just looks like the best compromise of size and sound. I like the fact that you can easily add another small cab for extra oompf too. Hope it works out for you bud.
Cheers TomTom, totally with you on compromise. Spoke to Lloyd last night and he is keen, however if he gets a cash offer that he likes, I certainly would not blame him for taking it . Stuff I'm selling/trading is stupid amount new, but as long as I don't have to get my hand in my pocket . You are so right about extending as well, a dozen gigs will get me another 2x12 if I get lucky. Fingers crossed, cheers, Karl.
