1.
Unfortunatley mate, DV247 have the terror and the cab priced at £838 as a bundle. It might not be worth selling if you cant get what you want for it.
Makes my offer of £1800 worth of gear, (new selling prices), that I PM'd look even better , just hope it's of interest. I'd be happy to take the hit I'm taking as the Terror and SP 212 is EXACTLY what I'm looking for. Why is there no emoticon for praying? Karl.
2. Hello Kalim. Pics to come? How old is this fella as can't find anything on t'internet after 2005 (but I am dim ). Cheers, Karl.
3. 'k me that is beautiful. Good luck, Karl.
4.
THIS PLACE IS RUBBIS. NOBODY BYES ANYTHING OR HAS PRECBS FENDERERS. THIS BAS HAVE BEEN HERE FOR TWO DAYS AND ONLY STUPID COMENTS I HAVE HAD. I DO BETTER ON EBAY. THIS IS WASTING MY TIM.
Oh dear, Carling spray on screen . TIM.
5. Three PM's replied to. Thanks Justin, really tempted but looking to go bit smaller rather than bigger. MUST stop thinking about your SWR Henry 8x8, especially as I know it will have been obsessively looked after by you . Regarding courier, this lot would cost approaching £100 insured, but the bigger issue is I have absolutely nothing to box them in . So, although I have replied in private, I would just like to publically re-iterate I will deliver within 100 miles of Wigan (think NEC to Carlisle, Wigan about mid way), at £550 inclusive. Cheapest new Goliath 111 I can find is £640 plus delivery from Ireland (Thomann are £740). Cheapest 2nd hand one I can find is £400 plus delivery. Cheapest Son of Bertha I could find was £570 plus delivery, couldn't find a 2nd hand one at the moment. Both cabs are in excellent condition except the paint on 1 handle. Thanks for all the enquiries, Karl.
6. Sorry for late reply, studio all day. It's not that I don't particularly like it, but I go very much for the John Paul Jones sound and I have found it hard to locate exactly what I want from this amp. The reality is that I had 5 years off and have tried 3 set ups in the year or so I have been back, none of them have been quite what I want. I have pretty much always had amps with Bass, Mid, Treble, Volume and nothing else. Probably because of technical ineptitude (and possibly little patience) I just can't get away with parametrics. Last gig I did, I took off the Distortion, and the EQ section, and put the Enhance to about 10 o'clock and it sounded so much better to my ears, but I'm still not convinced and if I sell it I will be getting something powerful but very simple! Pretty much all of the reviews I have seen on this amp are very good, but I think they were reviewed by folk more switched on than me. Thanks for your enquiry and good luck in your search, Cheers, Karl. edited for spelling as usual! Just noticed, new member, welcome to the forum. It's a terrific place for ideas, technique, gear and what we call "gum banging" in Wigan. When considering buying anything on here, there is a members feedback section in the MarketPlace. Many selling will put a link to their feedback in the 1st post of the advert, as can be seen on my 1st post on this ad. Just click onto it and you will see peoples comments on buying/selling/trading.
7. Bump for price reduction. Karl.
8. This lot are one of the wholesalers that actually advertise them as Rickenbackers. That is where Mr Hall's efforts should be aimed, not some poor git that needs to move on a 35 year old copy. Karl.
9. Should have put this up before Christmas when Ken was looking for a present . Karl.
10. Wish I could sell my Eden Nemesis, I love these amps. Have a good luck bump. Karl.
11.
'Bushy Bison' Isn't that an Ubuntu distro ? OK, thats my coat over there
Bushy Bison, thought you were talking about my Mrs. Actually, that's my coat.
12. Seemed a good idea when I came back from the pub Karl.
13. Toying with the idea of selling both these cabs and replacing with a Goliath 111 (4 ohm). Both these cabs are 8 ohm, latest versions with chrome grill. Both have tweeters, both USA made, 2 speakons/2 jacks The Goliath 111 is a 4x10, 700watts. The Son of Bertha is a 1x15, 350 watts. Both are in very good condition, the only issue being some of the paint has come off 1 of the spring handles on the 4x10. I have no photos apart from a poor one taking at a recent gig. If there is any real interest I will take some. I won't be splitting. Now £550 delivered (less than half of cost of new, which, er, they aren't) within 100 miles of Wigan. BARGAIN! Any questions please contact me. Many thanks, Karl. post edited as I forgot the pics! My feedback below, please click on link. 14.
Early Jedsons, like the one you mention, were cheap & nasty but the later & higher-end ones were decent quality. There are Jedson geeks who will pay a fortune for the Matsumoku-built Les Paul copies, the "proper" Telecaster clones & some of the acoustics. This bass was sold branded as Jedson & a few other names but most were unbranded. They're pretty well-made as it happens & I'd quite like one to match my guitar version of the same thing! J.
OK, sloping back to the corner I should be in . Please tell me I'm right with Kay HideousBacker though? Karl.
15.
Odd looking SG bass
I'm old enough to remember when Jedson were considered sh*te. The daft Telecaster shaped bass was a hideous thing to play IMO. This guy also has a Kay HideousBacker, which I'll be watching. If it doesn't go stupid, I will have a punt just to get the machine heads. Karl.
16. Theoretically sound but perhaps a little tricky to police. There again, I'm not the polis! Karl.
17. I'd just put the 2 cabs side by side bump Wonderful stuff Acoustic. Karl.
18.
Oh btw, whenever you look at his listings check to see if he has any recent neg feedback and what his replies are. He doesn't take kindly to complaints! In my head i've always imagined he looks like this:
Without the smile! What pisses me off is that he states "attention" for his spares diatribe. It's gotta be ACHTUNG!!!! Free the caps lock TIM Karl.
19. Belated happy new year Tom. Is that jazz width at the nut? Anybody thinking about this, I have contemplated relocating to Guisborough so Tom can set up/service my basses Cheers, Karl.
20. Unlikely Tony , it's probably going to cost a bit more than I can afford! Nice to hear from you, look after yourself, cheers, Karl.
21. Reduced to £400 collected/£430 delivered. At very least £200 (33%) cheaper than you can find new, virtually immaculate, with 3U unit and blanking panel, that cost another £60. 700 watts @2ohms, 500 watts @ 4ohms, 275 watts @ 8 ohms. Oh, and it's by Eden, please read the reviews Cheers, Karl.
22. Dual Tube 550 head. Follow link half way down on left of page. Likey looky Karl. http://www.ashdownmusic.com/index.asp (or am I slow and this is sooooo 2010?)
23. New venue for us, The Last Orders, Swinton (Manchester-ish). 1st of the year, massively enjoyable, return booked in Sept, our 1st available date. Great audience who were up at it for some classic old rock stuff. Even more enjoyable for me, as I gigged my new to me P. I set it up, action, intonation the lot. 1st time I've ever done that and it felt and sounded great. Also did some settings change on my amp, that I had seen in passing here, and that sounded awesome . Lovely night, still smiling, despite the Toon's best efforts! Karl.
24. Bloody hell Rob, that's a good price for a very nice Jap jazz. Good luck, Karl.
