1. Many thanks Dangerboy. I'm working on it, cheers, Karl.
2. Hello Dangerboy. I am very close to having a punt, so some answers if you would be so kind. Is the truss rod working? Are all the electrics good, pick ups working individual and together. What is the action like at 1, 12 or 17 frets. Whats it like to play (subjective I know) Would you accept a cheque(I would happily wait for it to clear) as it's a long way from Wigan to London. Sorry for the dumb questions, it's just I'm dumb. Cheers, Karl.
3. Thats the poodles privates. Thinking very strongly about reasons for Jazz number 4. Would be less thinking if I hadn't moved from Falkirk to Wigan.
4. Oh dear, movement in underwear that brings back vague memories. STUNNING.
5. Have a bump on me, whilst I consider the consequences of lying to the wife about little it cost.
6. Sorted guys, many thanks for your help. You are gentlemen of the highest water (that's a compliment). Now, I suggest you all hide for when I come across the neck problems Geddy basses have! Again, many thanks, Karl.
7. Many thanks D Cheers, Karl. PS the Geddy and the 'Ray both look gorgeous.
8. Hi gafbass02, sorry no deal, just info if you would be so kind. I have a standard geddy, did you get the lovely tortie plate made to fit, and if so by who please? Good luck finding your trade, Cheers, Karl.
9. Thanks guys, major cock up avoided then. Off to Band Q tomorrow then, for adjusting thingys. Better book the A and E appointment now. Cheers, Karl.
10. Hi guys, bit of advice needed, pretty please. I have a Geddy Lee with bad ass 11. Action is very low, but it's starting with the fret buzz. For years I have just taken my basses to the local wizz setter upperer, but I cant really afford to now. So, what I am thinking (allegedly!) is if I gently screw back the saddles, this will lift the action a touch, and eliminate the fret buzz. Can't be that simple can it? What horrors am I not accounting for? Please bear in mind I am as intellectually and technical gifted as a demised goldfish. Any help/advice gratefully recieved. Cheers, Karl.
11. As a muppet, I would expect a 4 grand bass to do the bookings, play itself, make the tea and service the van.
12. Cant believe that I cant find reference to Gary Thain, Uriah Heap (sadly long dead) If you get the chance listen to his work on Magicians Birthday, Sweet Freedom or Demons and Wizards. Massive influence on me as a kid. Karl.
13. Hi thedonutman. Sorry to be pain. What sort of condition? Close up photos if poss? What model is the Peavey exactly, coz I tried harmony and couldnt find peavey max 450 nitro bass, probably because it's not been reviewed. Cheers, Kar.
14. Think that may be the made in China ones, whilst I think Kevs is a made in USA. PS Kev, 1. Have you still got the castors that come with it? 2. Hope to be in touch next week, fingers crossed ( and patience strained, certainly on my part) Karl.
15.
Sorry to dampen the party, but they are £320 new on Ebay, with 3 yr warrante.
16. On the bay, 1 bid, 40 odd watchers, I hate this. Wish I had put a reserve on ebay, then I wouldn't have this horrible feeling. Any BC'ers, fancy picking her up this weekend for £150 ? then I can speak to KevinJazzBass about his Ampeg.
17.
It was 30 (ish) years ago. I was a teenager. John McCoy was (is) god. Simples. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMDHMuj2OmA This, ladies and gentlemen, is rock 'n' roll. This is music with emotion. This is music with guts. Greenday? Coldplay? U2? Nickleback? Oh, please. THIS is music. Because it has FEELING*. *Feeling:- Alien concept to anyone who listens to (or plays) jazz, or anything written after 1976,
The band I was in circa '80/82, supported White Spirit at Hartlepool Town Hall. Janick on guitar. He left them, joined Gillan, we got support slot with Gillan at Middlesbrough town hall. On the same stage as one of my gods, didnt get any better, even the likes of Marillion and John Miles paling. Happy days.
18. Hi Kev. I have an old Shafty bass on here and the bay. It finishes on the bay next Tues. If I get £160 for it I will be in touch. If you sell it in the meantime, good for you and no prob. Cheers, Karl.
19. Nice stuff vispo. tayste_2000, too honest for my own good. had a great offer from BIG J, but pointed out medium scale (which he hadn't noticed) and like me, he ain't medium scale. (no offense BIG J ). You are in Manc, always welcome to come and play with her (ooh er missus) Interest all over but nobody coming up with final, so had to bay her. Guy called Andi from Singapore was furthest, but I really couldn't sleep knowing it had survived 40-ish years to be couriered round the globe. Precisions, you can put nails in with'em, but not this one, bit more delicate! Sad, coz I really don't like ebay/paypal pricing policies, but, no choice. Keep your fingers crossed for me guys. Cheers, Karl.
20. On the bay from tomorrow at slightly higher price. Still chance for those interested to avoid the bay, until there are bids. Andi, (today), hope you got my message , and understand why I won't courier her. (TBH I dread to think how much it would have been to Singapore). Thanks to all those who have contacted me. Cheers, Karl.
21. Thanks for all that folks, sadly, I am looking for 200w plus. Shame coz it looks gorgeous. I lusted after these a few years back, jealous of anybody who had one.
22.
PM'd with trade offer!!
PM replied to. Thanks BIG J.
23. Bit of bump before e.bay. May consider the right amp/speaker or combo, plus up to £100 your way. You can only ask. No offense intended if it aint the right one, Cheers, Karl.
