  1. Yup, good bass, shame they don;t do maple boards. Or perhaps they might ?
  2. Indeed, very good, rather well specced basses. Shame they never did them with maple boards.
  3. @ash I'd found this before, but didn't have time to look last night mate. The REVIEW on this link is very interesting imo https://www.guitar-list.com/fender/bass-guitars/fender-jazz-bass-one-piece-pickguard-cbs-models-1983-84
  4. Very rare 83, these are seriously under valued imo, mainly because so few folks know about them. The AVRI's from this year are now often changing hands at just over £2k.
  5. It's been up two weeks now, at around £100 less than many folk have asked for them in the past. A couple more days & I'll withdraw this. It looks like they are either going to be discontinued, or revamped at a higher price of around £1400 from next year (although there are a couple still available new in the UK at £1200). Unsold in two weeks is usually my time to think nobody wants it at that price. I may just put it up next March at £800 😆
  6. Not wanting to hijack, but.............. My Black/Maple Elite IV had a Ki0gon passive stack knob set up installed, with a series/parallel switch. Not only does it play beautifully but, for me, it just sounds wonderful, organic, versatile and just soooo smooth when needed.
  7. 2 for sale in the classifieds (I would like to buy one but...................
  8. Wey ye canny take a jurk yees lads 😉. Ye need te larn yersel geordie. Cheers marra, divnt be a stranger.
  9. Gorgeous Nik (no, not you, you plank). That's a 70's reissue, most likely a P70US N the US meaning American pups. It will have model type in the neck pocket. Nut width will be 40 mm, same as a Nate Mendel. If my Highway One/Road Worn Jazz yada yada yada....................... GLWTS Edit. Most likely a non export, as most that left Japan had rosewood boards, so definitely less common than the already uncommon export ones.
  10. Well that serious question soon went to ratshit 😆 Had a bit of info slight revamp & around £1400, presumably a NAMM release. Makes sense of the pre-orders for March that I came across, at, yup, £1400
  11. Nitro finish, Badass11, TV Logo and graphite reinforced neck. Loads of chat on TB forum, the Americans love 'em. Weight 8LB 9OZ. Some scuff, dints, bucklerash, always going to get that with this kind of finish. How else do you get a really good US Precision for this kind of money? Only an opinion, but I think these are better equipped than the current model at this level, the Performer. (REALLY didn't like the pups on them). THE HARD CASE IS NOT INCLUDED, SHOW ONLY. Comes with basic Ritter gig bag. Extra £40 for insured UK mainland courier, or will meet up with 50 miles radius of Darlington.. Feedback below, thanks for looking.
  12. Anybody know? I can find the Flea & Dirnt on the Fender site, but not the 50's Precision (or 60's Jazz)?
  13. What makes it worse was I tried @artisan s just over a week ago & it was truly fabulous to play. I'm going to lock myself under the stairs until this has gone.
  14. Very good condition, will come with flats on it. Price includes Tour Tech lite hardcase (or £230 in basic Ritter gigbag). Sorry about photos, had to take them in the garage. Colour is a slightly translucent creamy off white. 9lb 3oz these are made from pine. 41.3mm nut, modern C neck profile. Original owner put the tug bar above the strings so two extra screw holes. I was going to fill them, never got round to it. I was going to order a gold scratchplate, never got round to that either. Any trial in Darlington, your rig or mine. If you want it sending by courier (UK ONLY) you will need to organise & pay for your own, just telling me collection day. Thanks for looking, Karl.
  15. Umm. Looks like the price has gone down a fraction.........for now. No truss rod wheel, no string through, no mention of graphite neck rods (oversight surely) compound radius fretboard but no mention of compound neck profile. Does seem a little regressive from the splendid Elite. Unless of course,as usual, I've got it all wrong.
  16. Last knockings peeps. Flagellation of deceased equine.
  17. Cheers Dan. APOLOGIES to all who didn't get this, I've been dealing with messages (here & Facebook) from 10 minutes of it going up. It's sold pending meet, sorry, Karl.
