1.
I made the offer. To be fair I thought my mother in law still had some mileage in her.
In many ways she did, lovely shade of Daphne Blue. But the plywood teeth Seriously though, more trade offers but none of the basses I require.
2. Yup, you are an evil mastermind Ash
3. I've waited so long................
4. Actually Rich, Paul's offer is one of the more sensible ones
5. Thanks Stu. I've only seen the Hot Rodded (skunk stripe) in black, but looks like there are one or two of the original Hot Rods in the UK. Right, after 14 trade offers, none of which were 2013-2016 Deluxe Jazzes (+ I have£100 or so) or even USA 75 RI's , I think I need to make this sale only.
6. Somebody just buy it already, what a price for one of these beasts
7. Further pm's replied. And in a public response to "that guy" , sorry my patience with cockwombles isn't what it used to be..................................... Sunburst one sold in the States a few weeks back at $1050 Transluscent Orange (Ash, probably heavy maaannnn) sold on Bumtree 2 weeks ago for £950. That's the only two I've noticed this year.
8. Thanks guys very kind No, the price does NOT include shipping, especially at over £100 insured to southern Europe . As stated, change in work circs means shipping is now very difficult for me. All pm's replied (a lot), a Euro LX and a Darkglass 900 were both very tempting, but I must (finally) stay true to my quest!
9. Some piece of kit that Paul. GLWTS
10. Reluctant but I have 3 P/J's and this is the most valuable, and probably most saleable as they don't come up often. Black is the least common colour, Maple is the least common board. These Hot Rods were only made for 11 months from July 1999 before becoming the Hot Rodded, which ran for about 2 years. Lots of info on the balanced pick ups on BC & TB. Graphite rods, 41.6mm nut, 8lb 13oz, not original case, but expensive (and quite scuffed) Fender case included. A myriad of tiny surface scuffs on the back, that won't photograph, but for an 18 year old bass it's in good condition It's almost impossible for me to courier now, unless YOU want to sort out a Saturday collection. TRADES. I would prefer a trade for an American Jazz Deluxe dated 2013 to 2016. I have £100 to add to the Hot Rod. Please remember the Deluxe Jazzes of that time were selling new for between £1250/£1300 so really shouldn't be considered the same value as the current Elite series! Happy to meet up within 50 mile radius of Wigan. Any trial, feedback linked below. Thanks for looking, cheers, Karl.
11. Glad it's sold. I would have loved to get this but work for the next few weeks mean I can't get anything couriered Well done Iain & Albert
12. Stunning looking bass. Great price. Hmmm.
13. Sorry Andy, by the time I'd put this up on here, I'd had 4 messages on FB Sorry Paul, the 1st request to but was after 2 minutes on Facebook. Sold, sorry.
14. Erm, the bass these were intended for? I sold it before they arrived Cost £26 inc postage, un-opened, £13 posted UK.
15. As ever with Andrew, fabulous piece of gear at a terrific price. Sadly out of my range even at this bargainacious price. Just stunning.
16.
JD numbers seem to have been used since 2012 on Fender Japan guitars with the two digits after the JD giving the year - the dating system appears to be the same as used for the Japanese Gretch guitars which are also Fender made : http://blog.gretschg...serial-numbers/ Andy
Yup, what he said Alain.
17.
You make up your mind quick Karl
Well, you see, it's like this guv. 5 hours after I got this, a mate tipped me off about a Fender P/J. Turned out it was the 1st version of the Hot Rod Precision (mk 1, kinda). They were only made for 11 months, from July 1999, then they were changed to the Hot Rodded. I had one of the mk 1's and stupidly sold it. These basses are uncommon, black is the most scarce colour, maple the most scarce board. I've only ever seen two black & maple Hot Rods before, both in the States. I've now seen a 3rd, in my little music room. Hence the sale of this lovely jazz, I needed the money. Quickly. SOLD.
18. 22 fret, the legendary Longhorn or, erm, Boner (stop tittering boy!) Midnight Blue (got a few tiny sparkly bits in it). Only up for sale because 5 hours after I got it, I got the chance of an original Mk1 Hot Rod P. Price includes meet up within 50 miles of Wigan. Also includes replacement bridge. The original is still on but they are bizarrely wider, with string spacing of 22mm, rather than 19mm. Many replace these, I bought the bridge to do it BUT the screws that came off the original bridge are fractionally too wide for the new bridge holes. So I'll drill them out IF I get the time. Superbly balanced. For a 28 year old bass it's in great (but not immaculate) condition. Three little dints in back of neck, make no difference. Some people love these, some hate them. Colour has photograped lighter than it is, it's quite a dark bass. I won't take offers I'm afraid (there's one on FEEBAY at a ridiculous £1199). There's 28 page "Boner club" thread on Talkbass. https://www.talkbass...ss-club.721661/ A CREDIT TO IT'S 2 PREVIOUS OWNERS. Feedback linked below, thanks for looking. Karl.
19. Oh dear Vic, if you had put that up yesterday it would have been mine I've literally just bought a "Boner" (yes, I've heard them all before thank you ). Gorgeous bass, GLWTS
20. Many thanks chaps. This splendid beast is now on hold, cheers, Karl.
21. There's a lot of good stuff going on with this bass. Stealth A string retainer Graphite rods in neck Easy truss adjustment Active/passive Adjustable bridge pup poles String through body HM bridge On a personal note I've never been convinced by the Jag, too fussy on the front of the body. But I'm finding this one hard to resist.
