1. This Sting is in very good condition, especially for 15 years old. Couple of little scrapes, difficult to photo. I have the original 2 barrel bridge (chrome coming off barrels) but this Fender Deluxe string through bridge is a perfect (if pricey) replacement. Comes with decent DOUBLE gigbag. Lightweight Ash body, 8lbs 4ozs. ONE real issue. These "cup" jack sockets are notoriously crap. The jack socket is loose, the "cup" is slightly loose, however, I'm quite happy to gig it like that. I have an upgrade socket on the way, I will forward it to buyer. I'm unusually unsure about moving this on. The sound from this bass is fabulous. Think I will probably give it a week, see what happens. Any trial in Wigan. Thanks for looking, cheers, Karl. 2.
A bassist in a band I replaced years ago was not trusted by his wife, he had to set up then wait in the car with her, then play the first set, wait in the car during the break, second set, pack up and go home at every gig! She didn't come in and watch them and some gigs would be private functions anyway, bonkers she was!
Are you sure it was HER that was bonkers ?
 3.
Joking aside I am surprised that this is still here I have played one of these and was most impressed and the price is great too
Thanks Paul. Traded a few days back ta.
 4.
cmon Karl you know basses so don't give us none of that old bollocks about sunburst you know it's illegal lol but joking aside Glwts geezer
Paul, you are a legendary kind person of this parish. However, I must inform you Sunburst is not illegal. It can't be, I've ended up with 5 of the buggers If this one doesn't go this week, it will be the Sting up next. I'm suffering from Sunburst blindness
 5.
Thanks Karl, was seriously tempted at the time, just didn't have the reddies, much nicer colour combo as well......
Give over man, this is THE classic combo seen on TV's all over the world
 6.
Did you ever sell the Red one you had, I believe it was the same Bass?
The Candy Apple Red was the same model, but earlier, from 2011. Went in December. I withdrew it from here, this was my last comment on the closed sale thread; "3 buyers gone awol. 14 basses offered in trade (no RW Jazzes ). 3 cabs offered that I didn't want. Just easier to keep it." Ironically, it went the same night before I could withdraw it from FB
 7.
I have one of these - it's a great instrument - very underrated. The neck is very shallow, probably the easiest Precision neck around. And it packs quite a punch in terms of sound. I hope to get the Jazz version at some stage, but only because I'm struggling with a wide fingerboard due to my advanced years ... Good luck
There's a used American Special Jazz on FEEBay at the moment, £750 BIN. Thanks for all the pm's and offers folks. None of the basses required offered in trade, but 3 lovely "others" offered. And I'm weak, so................ Of course, it is available for sale as well , cheers, Karl.
 8. Keep badgering the sender. Keep the Painpal thing open. I had one go missing in Spain for 3.5 weeks. It eventually turned up with the buyer (who had the patience of a saint). THAT is why, if I sell any gear to Europe, I insist on the buyer booking/paying courier. It's cost me a few sales over the years but I can live with that. I have everything crossed for you Mr. Alembic, good luck.
 9. As Lizzy would say, Still in love with you * * the bass obviously
 10. All PM'S and questions have now been replied to. A LOT of trade offers, none of them original spec Fender Road Worn. Mark, way out in front fella, even though it was a curve ball Thanks all.
 11.
I managed to order Status black nylon flats on the Status webby, only to get an email sometime later to say they stopped having them made, and they dont know how i managed to order them. I got told to refresh my browser ? How can that be the problem They didnt take any money, but did say they would let me know when they're back in. That was 4 months ago I suspect if i was ordering a £3000 MK graphite wonder plank, the communication would have been more forthcoming
I used Status strings for years but I've given up now. On one occasion last year it took Status 6 weeks to tell me the strings I ordered were out of stock AND they weren't getting them made anymore. Disappointing, but little point me giving Dawn a hard time about it.
 12.
I wonder if posiflex neck support would work for me.... hmmmm.. might help me back too.
No comment TomBoy
 13. Thanks for the bump Mark. All PM's replied, thanks folks. Yes, this model does have the "new slim neck profile", it's actually a little shallower from front to back than the American Standard. It also has the posiflex graphite neck support.
 14.
Should be able to cover up that West Ham logo with the remaining £13 too!
Better off spending the £13 on weights training One of the good things about Basschat is that there will be players near your location that will let you try their basses so you can get a ball park idea of what you are looking for.
 15. MACKEM!!!
 16.
MB1 I am after a trade for a very specific amp, if I can't advertise it like this I'll have to take it down. I don't want to be bombarded with trade offers of all kinds! Sorry if I sound snotty, I do t mean to be, just don't know how else to do it?
Don't think Martin meant you Damon. Somebody probably put an offer on the thread, then it was removed before you saw it. You snotty antipodean (sorry mate ).
 17. AMERICAN Special Precision, 2014, now discontinued, as are the Standard. Differences to US STANDARD. Standard pup rather than custom shop. Standard tuners rather than the fancy lightweight ones. Standard bridge rather than high mass through body. No hard case. Light at 8lb 2oz. These have the Greasebucket tone circuit which has made irregular appearances since the late 80's. Very good condition. Comes with tortie plate, plus original white plate, supplied tools plus a DOUBLE gig bag. Any trial in Wigan, feedback linked below. i would prefer trade and a meet up. Many thanks for looking, cheers, Karl. 18. Even Reidy's are ASSHAT'S!!!!!! It's not a bloody rosewood neck it's a rosewood FINGERBOARD ANNNND breathe................
 19.
Who is it then?
Really? Amongst many other discussions http://basschat.co.uk/topic/190096-so-a-rockinbetter-isnt-a-rickenbacker-a-rockinbetter-isnt-a-tokai/page__hl__rockinbetter In all of these discussions NOBODY has EVER produced photographic evidence of a Rockinbetter with the TOKAI name on it anywhere. Unlike Tokai Rickenbacker GUITAR copies, which spookily have Tokai labelling.
 20. If you go on the Rickenfaker page on FB, I would recommend you avoid the use of Tokai. You will get flamed. Badly. Rockinbetter is NOTHING to do with Tokai.
 21. Ooooooh, we likes this don't we my precioussss There are 5 Flea jazzes up for sale, I was deciding which one to speak to the owner about. Then along comes this. Decisions
