1. Seem to remember Geezer (and Tony) were big fans back in the day. Some of the new Nexus stuff has scary amount of controls.
2. The next bit of joy from all this is used 2005 Standard Precisions on FEEBay at £1100 (well they're £1500 new now guv ). They can bloody well keep 'em. I only gig my 2 rather special Mex's, so Fender, think I'm out now.
3. £1500 for a slightly tarted up, renamed US Standard. Gotta affect sales this side of the pond surely?
4.
Wish I could afford this Glwts
Thanks Paul
Karl, ffs just swap it for my Gibbo......
I would have swapped it (plus a few quid your way ) for your Gen3 SuperTwin Lloyd
hahaha, I'm a [s]bit [/s]err a lot slow sometimes.
5th pleaded
5. I meant shoulder pain from having a large lump of wood hanging of it. The shoul.........oh never mind
6.
Ha! in a pigs eye you want less basses, go on make me an offer I can't refuse, I'm liking the weight...
I think it's supposed to work the other way round Pike Anyway, light as it is, it's still over 8lb Tom, so a bit of a risk for you.
7. These basses were originally known as Bob Glaub basses. Lakland renamed them a few years back. They could always be specced with a jazz neck, but few made it to the UK with that spec change. Lovely basses in general and very tempting with this jazz neck. Buyers will not get a lot of chances with a used one of these.
8.
I'm agog, what more DO you want? It's red, maple, light and I like it too, pity you won't accept my Ibby as a part-ex....
Hello agog. Less basses is what I want
9. Thanks Shemeck, I think so to. I've now had 11 basses offered against this (and two quite tempting but not quite there cabs!). No cash, no Barefaced. Rather liking it with the gold mirror, it's a rather light US Precision, what more do I want
10. Final flagellation of this deceased equine. Now wearing her spare gold mirror plate, ready for a Mr. Dunn tribute . Black plate stil included. Case isn't, it comes with Fender Deluxe gigbag. Would still trade for Barefaced SuperTwelve/SuperTwin
11. I got one and sent it almost straight back. SS version, clipping came in quite early on all basses, but with the American Special, it was coming in stupid early. Which led me to use the pad. Which lost a LOT of volume as it's -15db.
12. I'm guessing if the photos have gone, the amps gone?
13. Don't quote me Paul, but I'm reasonably sure the Pro is replacing the standard. Seem to remember there were a couple of improvements including MM style truss rod "wheel". There's a long thread on here somewhere.
14. Further PM's replied thank you. Would trade for immaculate Barefaced SuperTwelve/SuperTwin. A thread on these basses. https://www.talkbass...special.780895/ It's going to get Ducked at the weekend .
15. Fender JB65 115 NR , hootenanay button, heel adjustment http://www.fantasist...roducts_id=7178
16. Find an American Vintage 57, in my limited experience some of the finest basses to leave America. Not the investment potential of a pre CBS but unlikely to lose money.

18.
Sacrilege! "Leo got is right" How can you ever imply otherwise!?!?! I totally agree BTW. How can anyone ever get excited about sea-foam green or 3/2 tone sunburst ? ( Dives for cover!! )
Off with his [s]trousers[/s] head
19.
I feel for PMT. They won't have the recourse to go back to the PXer and get their money back. He was probably laughing all the way home.
To an extent, so do I .............BUT, They can take the hit a bit more than a private individual. They will have gained kudos for their actions.
20. A BIG WELL DONE TO PMT!!!! I say this because it is unlikely they have the depth of experience (especially on bass) that can be found here. Nobody there may have even considered it wasn't what the part ex'er told them it was. Possibly the part ex'er didn't even know. They did the right thing. Excellent result Mal, really pleased for you .
21. Of little use to you Mark, but if my US American Special Precision goes in time, I'll be on my way down to you. Really surprised these super cabs haven't gone.
