1. Bought a plate off Adam late Wed night, arrived Friday morning, doesn't get better than that. Great product, great service, great bloke, cheers Adam.
2. Previously owned by Tom so this will undoubtedly be a great bass. I know a lot of folk have this opinion that Mex's don't quite cut it. I only have one non Mex bass left, I only take Mex basses to gig. Love 'em. Bargain price for a great bass imo. GLWTS
3. I'd like to buy that please (if still available). Will pm in morning to sort payment (going to bed now). Cheers, Karl.
4. Flogging (or not flogging) a dead horse methinks. I know the last few were sold off relatively cheaply by Fender, but these were a very well thought of £700 amp 4 years ago. Only a few half hearted bits of interest so I think I'll give it until the weekend then settle myself down with it. Cheers, Karl.
5. I'm still trying GILLY but to be honest I'm getting the feeling it ain't going to happen. Good luck regardless, cheers, Karl.
6. And yet here is a direct reply from Jeff Genz himself, referring to the Streamliner (personally I'm not advocating frequent changes but it would be kinda nice to try). "Hello Greg, Your experiment sounds like it is a true winner for your needs. The ability to modify to tonal characteristics of the Streamliner by swapping tubes is part of the beauty of this design. I think your choice of a 12AT7 in V1 makes perfect sense. Thank you for commenting and we appreciate you continued to play GB. Regards, Jeff"
7.
In this Digital Age, it would be so easy to take 'before' and 'after' pictures, so as to show proof of the problem, and its rectification. At the very least......................................................you know what? Ignore the pillock! He wasn't even worthy of the effort involved to finish my post.
Al makes a great point here. I always take photos of the bass as it's being packed. I will also already have photos from the advert. Never really taken photos of fret heights before, but I will now. Sorry to hear about your problem Thunderbird (I had one try it with me and it's STILL on my feedback ) but it will work out in your favour so quit worrying fella
8. If it turns out to be a pre amp valve issue, you might simply want to replace the troublesome valve with exactly the same item. Or as some have done, you might like to try different pre amp valves to see if you like different sounds. This is the thread I referred to http://basschat.co.uk/topic/191375-new-valves-for-genz-streamliner-any-experience/page__st__30__p__2778083__hl__streamliner__fromsearch__1#entry2778083
9. If it turns out to be pre amp tube, there's a very interesting thread regarding changing V1 to a Phillips. I keep thinking about doing it, but will wait until I give up trying to sell mine (ie when the PUMA that's up sells).
10. Yeah he put it up on here and Facebook couple hours back. Didn't tip you cos it wasn't road worn.
11. I presume you've seen the one that's up for sale on here? I'm far from a Mex hater, but new prices are getting hard to live with now (as are yanks).
12. Andy bought a bass from me. Decisive, did what he said he's do, when he said he'd do it. Lovely bloke as well. Yet another great ambassador for our community. Fully recommended, deal with confidence, top bloke. Enjoy Andy and thanks again, cheers, Karl.
13.
http://basschat.co.u...d-super-compact Still got me curious though....
Many thanks
14.
It depends if you are looking to get the same volume from a smaller, more efficient rig. I've got a couple of Barefaced One10 cabs and they are ridiculous in terms of the volume I can get from them vs their size. However, on the bigger stages there are times when I wish I had just that bit more. After reading Kevin Deans reviews of the new Ashdown Rootmaster-EVO 12" white cabs & the fact it knocked a couple of BF Super Compactsout of his rig, I am seriously interested in trying these out too. I believe there's an upgrade option that gives 700W speakers in a 12" 10KG cab.
Largo, could you point me in the right direction for that review please, I'm interested but too dozy to find it Cheers, Karl.
15. Many thanks fellas, appreciated. I rarely do this, but, for a few days, NOW £300 collected from Wigan, £320 couriered mainland UK.

17.
Before this goes too far and gets misunderstood, in my 4 and a half years in the U.K., I have had the pleasure of being in a band and regularly playing with 4 quality drummers. I have never been in band and thinking, "I wish the drummer could get it together". That's said, we all, myself especially, make slip ups. My question is, when a drummer miss hits and stalls for the microsecond that feels like a lifetime, do you A: keep time and hope the drummer catches up B: time your next note to fall with the next kick drum/snare/ Symbol and hope the guitars cotton on and shift back into line. Reason I ask, I find myself doing both of these at times, but sometimes whichever one I do feels wrong. Ultimately, it's live music, and we plough on, I'm just curious to know how you all manage this!!
Get used to it pal, believe me! And option A, always option A
18. Andy came from London to Wigan to try out my bass (ok, he was fitting in a gig in Manchester as well ). Really nice guy who did exactly what he said he'd do, when he'd do it. Absolute pleasure to deal with and fully recommended by Il Gobbo (ie me). All he best Andy, enjoy the bass and thanks again, cheers, Karl.
19. He's wrong about knobs. There's the ones that have bid nearly £300 on it so far.
20.

These three are top blokes, top musicians run a good jam and it's a good venue. Get yourself there and get on the page Ian linked in post #9 You will have a great night and a good laugh. Also, with the NW bands website, although you can't register, some of the ads do put a phone no on. Good luck, won't take you long to find a band.
21. Thanks Paul, that is really kind of you Bass is on hold folks, thanks for all the interest,
22. All pm's replied to thanks Sorry, I think the price for this modded bass is fair to buyer and seller so I'm not taking offers I'm afraid. Also my apologies to the 3 from the continent who were making serious enquiries. UK only.
