1.
Got one en route
Congrats you free man you. NBD review asap please
 2. Yeah but I love the Streamliner as well. Only reason I'm looking at PUMA is I now have a fabulous Schroeder 2 x 12 plus bullet horn. Jorg (Schroeder) fully endorses and sells EICH and reckons they are superb with his cabs. So TecAmp/Eich are much the same. So it would be rude not to try
 3.
Tempting! Will see if I can shift a few pedals to raise some funds for one, be a potential guinea pig for you guys.
Sell your MIJ 'Arry, buy a short and a long scale and have some loot spare Think Jow's sold one or two current stock in the last couple of days.
 4. That looks fabulous Steve (and he's a great bloke to deal with folks). That amp looks loud just sitting there
 5. A chap playing the short scale version. I believe Jow has put a 10% discount on his current stock as he's going to concentrate on the custom options route. https://youtu.be/X6ym9CPP5Wo
 6. Thanks guys, appreciated. I'm hoping the Mexican Precision goes 1st. As I said on the other advert I'm raising funds for a custom Jow Dirtybird (single pickup, non reverse Thunderbird, in Sea Foam Green with matching headstock). That's a very long term itch that needs scratching
 7.
Trades?
Sorry Alex no, it's a fundraiser for a custom Jow Dirtybird EDIT, unless you have an immaculate PUMA 500 or 900 and would also like some cash from me
PM'd
And replied Franck
 8. No longer available in this colour. In my opinion an excellent bass at this price. A few small dint's plus one in the neck. Yes, sometimes you can feel the neck dint. Very light at just over 8lb. If my Mex Precision goes this will be removed from sale. Superbly set up and ready to gig. Any trial in Wigan, your rig or mine. Thanks for looking, cheers, Karl. 9. Very good but gigged condition 2005 Mexico Precision bass guitar in Agave Blue. Upgraded Kent Armstrong pickup. Upgraded Gotoh bridge. Tatty gig bag. Spare black scratchplate. Some hard to see little dints, one major one, see picture. Superbly set up gigging bass. A new Mex Standard P is just shy of £600 and is unlikely to be as well sorted as this one. It certainly won't have the pups , bridge or oiled board. Any trial in Wigan, your rig or mine. Thanks for looking, cheers, Karl.
 10.
Has anyone added a "stealth" woofer pickup to their bass for those EB-style lows? I have one on my Yamaha Attitude Special and it sounds great mixed in with the P pickup. I'd love to have one hidden on a normal-looking P bass, I imagine I'd have to use quite a powerful one since it would be below the pickguard.
If it's the bass I think it is, then it's not really a "stealth" pick up is it? What you might like to consider is getting such a pick up, WITH a cover, then routing the body and cutting a hole in the scratchplate. Sorry I've not got many photos of what I mean, but you can just about see it on this one. 11. Cheers Davie, I've joined in on the fun over there. 1st time I've posted there for a couple of years I think
 12.
And it then appearing in the Basses For Sale section shortly afterwards... (sorry Karl, somebody had to say it!)
I really hope not Tony. The specs I've asked for are, shall we say, niche. The bass is also niche. I VILL MAKE ZIS WERK
 13.
Karl thanks for starting a thread. I'd saw the site a couple of weeks back but forgot to bookmark it or write down the name Been driving me nuts trying to remember With me being nuts about Peaveys it's unlikely I'll be buying one but I think it's great we have another fella in the UK starting up.Chinese manufacture doesn't bother me in the slightest, well impressed with my Retrovibes so can't see these being any ldifferent. Bookmarked the page now and will keep an eye out for occasions when I can give them a plug.
My pleasure Davie, you've done plenty for other folks on here, that's for sure!
So Jazz neck, solid colour body - what sort of price? And can you either match headstock colour to body or leave it unpainted to match the neck? Anyone able to give me an idea of how this would sound compared to what I know, which is precision and jazz?
Go to post #1, click on the link for Adam's (JOW) website. There are short videos for both the long scale 34" and shortscale 30" on there. As far as sound is concerned, you should be able to get a great deal of tones out of it, between amp, pedals, technique. Although it is quite gritty on the vids, due to pick use, I would be very surprised if there isn't some lovely smooth stuff in the bass, for finger style, clean amp sound bassists. Specs, prices, well contact Jow through pm on here or directly through his website. I don't expect this bass to be of the quality of a Shuker but I would expect it to be a thoroughly usable gigging machine that looks different. That's why he got them made for himself originally. I'm so glad he did
 14.
Looking forward to reading your report of it!
You'll be waiting a while. Jow's is a micro business in it's very early stages. He will need to be careful with cash flow so it's going to be a patience gig for buyers. I recently acquired a Squire CV 50's Precision, made in China. It's frankly astonishing. That is one of the reasons I've just said sod it (as I know at least 2 others have). The good thing is Jow is a well respected session and live bassist who knows what bassics we need to be right. If they are right, I can do the rest myself. You just KNOW a bass like this will court interest at a gig .
 15. Well, Jow has really gone all out to take his un-asked for market research onboard For years I've wanted something this different, yet retro. The cost has always been prohibitive. To get one with a jazz neck, single chrome covered pup, in the colour/plate/ board I want, for around the cost of a used Mex Standard Precision. LIFE IS TOO SHORT NOT TO, Hell yeah! Already counting the days until my Sea Foam Green turns up
 16.
Cheers mudpup. Long term saving plan required!!! The emerald green looks amazing!! Nice stingray you have there too!!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Yeah, cos that'll happen
 17.
... while looking up how to spell it ...
18. This actually is a rare recent Fender. IT IS A FENDER JAPAN 75 RI WITH FACTORY P/J. I don't know of any other Fender Jazz with this format, except Aerodynes. Please check last picture. EDIT, I'm talking cobblers, the 2014 US Hot Rod jazz was same configuration but sold for around £1600. Also limited run. There is a fair bit of info on the web about the FSR Ltd Edition Old Candy Apple Red P/J, as there were 78 made available. At the same time, there were a few white and sunburst released. I remember GAK and Andertons showing one in stock, end of 2013, early 2014. Around the same time as the 66 (which didn't have lollipops/dots) There are quite a few references to "hand crafted in Japan" for these '75s. A few bits on Talk bass and indeed Basschat, but this series is rare anywhere outside of Japan. So, a light alder (9lb 3oz) Fender Japan , Factory Special Run, '75 reissue Limited Edition Jazz with factory fitted Precision pick up. As far as I can see, this bass is immaculate. Comes with Hiscox Liteflight case (originally gigbag). At the time, they were £1149. I took this as a trade against my £700 Road Worn, from a very nice but determined chap. He knows it's going straight back up for sale. Old Candy Apple Red in GAK https://www.youtube....h?v=myjKSKOzCHk TRADES. Immaculate PUMA 900 + £250 cash to me. Immaculate PUMA 500 + £300 cash to me. I gigged this last night (with ashtrays on). Although I took it with intent to sell it (I still have too many basses) I'm only going to leave it up for a few days. It is frankly an astonishing bass. £700 collected from Wigan, £730 UK insured courier. Thanks for looking, cheers, Karl. 19.
You could alternate by fret -maple/rosewood/maple/rosewood etc That'll screw with the 'experts' minds.....
Another evil genius!!! I like these thoughts chaps
 20. Done a bit of research and you have opened a whole new world of lunacy for me Richard . Really kind your advice and offer of help, top man
 21. Excellent Richard, very kind, many thanks for that. As you've got previous for this and you do a great job, you don't happen to have done a kind of build thread have you?
 22. Half hearted bump. I really would like to buy GILLY's PUMA, but looking unlikely. The other chap who has one of these for sale is including a speakon/speakon lead. I will also include buyer's choice of lead, speakon/speakon or speakon/jack. Thanks for looking.
 23. Wow, looks great well done. Any "before" pics? Any chance of links to products used (especially on the 'plate)?
 24.
I like that blue yin at the back!
