I've got a decent reputation on here. Having just dealt with Alan, I still have a lot to learn. We did part cash/part ex. He did payment/box up before I'd even managed to sort a box. His packaging was superb, delivery time daft fast. Now, the bass received. A humble 2005 Mex Standard Precision, with upgraded bridge and pick up. Astonishingly well set up and he'd obviously just oiled the board. What a player and what a sound. Simply put, I simply can't recommend Alan enough. Thanks fella.

Thanks for the review The Daivisch. They looked quite good on paper. Not sure of the GB Contour head, but I know with the Streamliner there is no issue with volume. Only reason I'm looking at moving mine on is I now have a Schroeder cab and Jorg really does endorse EICH (hence looking for a TecAmp PUMA). I was really surprised with the jump in perceived volume when I changed from Barefaced to Schroeder, although had to EQ completely differently for the Schro. Plenty of excellent used heads for sale on here. Is it perhaps worth taking your head into a shop or a bass bash and trying your head with different cabs? Thanks again, cheers, Karl.

PARTS BASS, DIRNT BODY & MAPLE ***SOLD THANKS***
karlfer replied to tom1946's topic in Basses For Sale
Right Tom, pay attention, I shall zay zis only wernce. It's not a Telecaster neck. Part of the evidence is that it says PRECISION on the headstock . As Jono rightly pointed out, it's from a CV 50's Precision. In this case, maple board on maple neck (now discontinued, replaced by White Blond). Folks call these a Telecaster headstock, but it's actually the original early 50's headstock style. This headstock style was brought back into production around '67 with the release of the Telecaster bass. Since then it's been used on all sorts of basses. -
Nice one Rhys, appreciated

SOLD (traded).Fender Precision 2008 Mike Dirnt
karlfer replied to karlfer's topic in Basses For Sale
Thanks Gavin, yup, simple bass but well made and specced. This was theoretically sold, with collection today. A young guy on Facebook. It came as no real surprise when he backed out late last night. So, still currently here. Well set up, frets fettled, good sound, nice neck and weight. Looks great with or without scratchplate. All opinions of course Cheers, Karl. -
Email from GAK tonight. £300 off American Standards, because the range IS being discontinued, from Fender's own "mouth".
It possibly could be but it doesn't seem that way. The neck plate has not serial number etc, but that said I guess striping the body could reveal more? I don't know? Open to any advise if anyone has anything to check! But I've priced it hopefully at a price that reflects it isn't considered to be original, if that makes sense....
Why not put a thread up on the Fender community forum, asking for thoughts? There are some VERY long term Fender folk on there.
That's expensive - I'd be wanting a 1m wide roll for that price.
Everyone's a critic
