1. Hello Jamie. Are these MK1 or MK11 ? Do they stack vertically (I know they have unusual plastci corner pieces)? Are you likely to look at courier eventually? Good luck, Karl.
 2. Out of curiosity Ed, what is the wattage rating of this wonderful cab?
 3. I just got this off Steve. Astonishing sound, but too big for an old git like me. I under estimated the dimensions. I am asking more than I paid. Steve was really helpful with a meet and I put 6 hours driving and a lot of fuel into collecting. I am prepared to do the same again. Hence the price. If somebody collects from Wigan, more than happy to chat about the price. If you don't like the price, then you won't want to buy it will you TRADES. GEN3 SuperTwin with cloth front. The BIG fella of GEN 2. Don't come up too often, this model. Just insanely powerful. Very good condition although the handles are showing rough, 3 new ones from Alex are £16. Bass in picture not included, just to provide scale. This fella, at this spec, delivered new, would have set you back £1170. Plus the cost of the Roqsolid cover. Will meet up, no extra charge, within 100 miles of Wigan. Spec http://barefacedbass...nge/big-one.htm Feedback available, any trial in Wigan, cheers, Karl. 4. Bert has just bought a bass from me. Decisive, helpful and a thoroughly nice guy to boot. Thanks for making it so easy Bert, an absolute pleasure. Fully recommended folks, thanks again, cheers, Karl.
 5. Just done a deal with Steve. Absolute gent, decisive, did what he said he'd do, when he said he'd do it. Gear bang on as described. Really nice friendly bloke to deal with, fully recommended by the House of Munster. Enjoy tonight's gig Steve and thanks for making it so easy.
 6. Superb Ed, too good for me.
 7.
Karl, that neck date 02= jazz bass 03= fretted maple neck (or rosewood board with skunk stripe) 10=week 10 7=1977 5=Friday
Bloody Hell Martin, that's impressive, thanks for that. I can hardly see the neck, never mind the squiggles
 8. Many thanks Andy, James and Daniel, very much appreciated guys Really are some diamond geezers on here!
 9. Thanks Andy, not got butt of neck, never thought Sunburst, maple board, white binding, pearl blocks. Only body markings are those in the neck pocket. 10. Hi guys hope you can help with confirmation. It's a late 70's Jazz, so confirmation is a VERY hopeful word The pots are 1377514, so week 14, 1975 Can't quite figure the bottom of pups, it's 75 or 76, bit smudgy. The other pup has grey bottom but printing's worn off. I thought it was 76/77, but it's got Made in USA on the front of the headstock, which to me suggests 80's. That's the bit that really nags me. It's also got S7 serial which I thought was from 78 onwards, but some suggest from late 76. I don't expect anybody to tell me it was born on the 2nd of February X year, but some knowledge would be really helpful. Cheers in advance folks, Karl. 11.
Oh God no, I didn't mean it like that! I said "nosey parker" as a punctuation, most definitely not an insult. I'm 39 and kinda poor. I'm not proud of it. I have no wish to be cheeky to anyone on the forum!
And he won't have taken it as an insult. He will have chuckled
 12. I KNEW I'd seen two of them I'm still a little shy, but another month, who knows
 13. Next is an advert for an AV57RI Sold folks, many thanks.
 14.
I'm going new simply so I can put a head and cab package together and pay it up monthly. I don't have a great amount of disposable income but I have a steady wage. Nosey parker.
GREAT answer, suck that one up Kert
 15. Cheers Mart, hope everything is ok Sorry Damon, bass on hold
 16.
Sweet looking bass Karl - I'm sure it won't hang around too long at that price. So how many basses have you been through this year?
One shall plead the 5th Pete
Basses?? I think it's only the FSR that survive from ANY of his gear to see the year out!!! I bet there is a pool of seafoam green at the base of his guitar stand as it quietly sweats waiting to be shifted on too lol. 17. Thank you gents. I see you kindly took me at my word. IE barracking . Whilst Hofner would be very appropriate for one of next years gigs, I refuse point blank to ever play one of those again .
 18.

Shut up Mike
Surely this merits more explanation..? What '50s amp are you using for this new venture..? And what 'period' strings..? I'm glad I'm a drummer; would't want to have to play on a '50s kit..! Are your band mates equally as zealous as you, or are they a sensible lot..? This forum would be the poorer without these topics, though..!
50's STYLE dad, I know you're a drummer but try to pay attention
This breaks my heart Karl... I was hoping you would hang on to this long enough to to shift my bass and get some pennies together. After reading some of the horror stories on these basses, I instantly loved this one when I played it. The pickups are very full, and the neck pickup could almost pass for a p. Neck is very comfy and I have tiny hands, so don't stress about the slightly deeper neck profile. It is reliced quite heavily as you would expect, but it is very light, noticeable after playing his old Adam Clayton. Someone is getting a steal!!!!
Thanks Damon, but the bigger shows aren't until next year and I'm very unlikely to get the trade I'm looking for. So, I'll save up and you can save up . Hope 1st contact was good
Switch to the neck pickup and say it's a '59.
Sadly they know jazzes weren't around in the 50's. It needs to be a P. They would like it to be blue, but that ain't happening
 19. David Konig (Retrovibe) will do a great set up on the basses he supplies. He has a lot of fans. Have a chat with him and tell him Karl recommended his gear, but more importantly, his care and service.
 20.
I'm a bit stuck for words..... not like me I know..... can't you make do with that scruffy thing at the top? (runs and hides)
No Jazzes in the 50's Tom
Phew, easy pay out it was you mate!
Pleased to be of service John. I assume my match fixing cheque is in the post?
 21. Just wondering who got me in John's "book" that he was running Or did he not give odds on me
 22. Save another £30 and do it properly 4 ohm version to get the most out of a head. https://www.andertons.co.uk/p/TRV102P4OHM/bass-cabs/markbass-trv-102-p-4-ohm-traveller-bass-cabinet?LGWCODE=TRV102P4OHM;56375;6335&gclid=COC8-I_Mss4CFRaeGwodmnUGvg
 23. 2016 Fender Flea Jazz. Not really for sale. Due to a new band I need a 50's style Precision. Hope DamonJames will help me out with a testimonial to this bass. It's one of the very light and good ones IMO. I have cleaned off the mucky film they put on the scratchplates. TRADE REQUIRED REALLY. I would VERY much like to give somebody this bass plus some cash for a splendid conditioned Fender American Vintage 57 Reissue Precision. Preferably Sunburst, but any really. 24.
So when you sell it on Wednesday, which bass will be used in the first set next Saturday?! ;-)

I know what you mean; I had to double check it didn't have a battery in mine!
25. Last night, instead of using the Flea both sets, I used it 1st set and returned to my beloved FSR P/J for the second set. Was quite shocked how much more powerful the Flea pups are . I had to significantly turn up the gain and volume to get back to the sound level I'd had with the Flea in the 1st set. I really was rather surprised.
