1. Just taken this as part trade. I'm hoping when this is gone, I'm finished. Aye, right . Approx 2007, good condition but lots of light buckle rash on the back, couple of dints here and there. It's a well gigged bass. Not cosmetically mint be any means, BUT, that Holoflash does some cool? things I've done a quick set up and changed the strings. VERY easy bass to work on. Very well made Korean bass, neck thru construction. IMO a decent bass for this sort of price. They seem to be around £650 new in the UK, but not the easiest bass to find. Weight 9lb 4oz. I'm not getting any neck dive, but I do use very wide straps. SPEC. Maple body construction, Holoflash finish. Spector TonePump Jr. active tone controls and EMG Pickups. 3-piece maple neck through construction Rosewood fingerboard 24 frets 34" scale length 16" radius. Pearl dot neck inlay. Spector die cast bridge, 2 volume controls, 9-volt active - bass and treble Bridge pickup: EMG SSD Neck pickups: EMG SSD Pickup type: passive - dual coil Legend 4X Classic Electric Bass Guitar Width at nut: 1.56" String spacing at bridge: 0.70" Truss hex key size: 4mm Bridge hex key size: 2mm Comes with a fair conditioned Stagg gigbag. Any trial in Wigan. £325 collected from Wigan please, or £350 by insured courier BUT UK only I'm afraid. TRADES....................... I have some loot floating about, that somebody might like to take with the bass . Particularly looking at Barefaced or a 50's style Fender Precision. Feedback linked below, many thanks for looking, cheers, Karl. 2.
I found the jazz sound very useable and want my next one to be modded to include it. On a precision, the series switch seemed less successful.
Bang on. GREAT on the jazz.
  3.
Your alway more than welcome to come and put it though its paces,I'll even do you a brew!
That's what I'm afraid of, with an inevitable outcome

  5. Still watching (and hoping) Did I miss the weight of this splendid machine?
  6. Further pm's replied, still here. Still looking for a Barefaced, preferably Gen3 SuperTwin or Gen2 SuperTwelve (others considered) in part EX. Or a 50's Precision in part ex (or even straight trade on an excellent AM57RI with case). Warwick price list http://warwick.de/en/Warwick---Media--PDF---Pricelists--Warwick-Serie-.html Cheers, Karl.
  7. That went well then See what happens when you try to be considerate

  11.
Well I'm pleased to say I got a good one. I did two gigs with it this weekend, and without a doubt it's the best Jazz Bass I've owned. Does anyone know whether the pickups are the same as those in the AVRI 64 reissue? What are people's thoughts on drilling the holes for the covers and thumbrest - is this likely to devalue any future resale or affect potential collectivity should they someday obtain collector's item status?
I really wouldn't worry about this ltd ed/collectors stuff Tut. The Geddy amd Marcus were ltd runs in 1998 and they are still making them, albeit in Mexico now.
  12. Called me old fashioned, but is it not one of these? Link http://barefacedbass.com/product-range/big-one.htm
  13. So, our drummer, on Facebook gig advert "will Karl have another new bass this week?" Cheeky git. Anyway, always one to oblige, the Flea made it's 1st appearance. I've still not got round to setting it up, although I did sort the neck relief a touch. I think the Metallica numbers Nothing else matters straight into Enter the Sandman summed it up perfectly (how DOES one spell segue/segwe blah). The 1st song, I use really smooth, bassy John Paul Jones (Zep 11). Except for the end bit where I change to growl for the heavy bit. That heavy bit leads, via a drum fill, straight into Enter the Sandman, where the growl continues. The change was simply to turn the neck pup tone rotary from notch two, to full treble. Job done! I had the bridge volume on about 1/3rd and the tone on notch three. Never touched that all night. All tonal changes done on the neck pup. Great sound, simple to change throught the (limited) tonal variations I need. The neck is really excellent, for me. It is slighty deeper than most jazz necks I've played, but it just fits my hand perfectly. I do a short tapping lead in You Really Got Me (don't ask why ) and it rang out really clearly, no loss of dynamics. At the end of a lively 1st set, drummer boy actually said it sounded like a Rick on Enter The Sandman. Not like him to notice . So, in summary, the one negative for me is the small side dots are difficult for me to see in some lighting. A versatile jazz that's got a great tonal range, is light (mine is very light), and is already supplied with dint's to fit the drummers head, when your are hitting him to keep time. And the Lurch dancers didn't worry it either . Sorry for those who received sub standard ones as this bass, to me, is a very good, giggable, versatile, unusual looking bass. Might even get round to setting it up

Another deal with Jamie. I bought his Streamliner on Wed and he was magnificent getting it to me by Friday (or Sat night's gig was going to be a challenge ). On top of that he put two splendidly useful extras in for me as well. Really nice of him and much appreciated. Absolute pleasure to deal with, fully recommended. All the best Jamie and thanks again .
