1. You're in a queue Martyn, the Wigan Bass Massive (well, Damon, Paul and Mark) are already wanting a go
2. I've just had mail from Kenny's. They've had mail from Fender. They are getting them in early. Mine should be with me Monday or Tuesday
3. No prob Lyle. I guessed that with the spec it had, it was both fairly recent and custom specced. And thus quite a personal bass. Didn't quite envisage the full scenario and the pain you could find yourself in Glad you listened to old Uncle Karl.
4. OK, me personally; I was gutted with the dink on my Adam Clayton, BUT, this Flea job. Boxes ticked; a colour I like good pick ups Jazz bass stack knobs good price (comparatively) road worn (so it doesn't matter when it gets dropped or is used to beat the drummers head to keep time) ime higher end Mex's in general are very good So it's not really anything to do with Flea, it's just a good sum of parts for me. So, my own reasons
5.
Kennys Music evolved from the old Sound Control stores - think Kenny was an old employee, so they're very well established. I actually bought my first bass - Westone Thunder 1A - from Sound Control in Glasgow way back in 1985. Back on point, the Flea sig does look decent - love a pale finished relic and this appears to be insanely well priced for what if offers. Just know a 2EQ Ray will sound better for Flea stuff tho'....
All very good, but I have no idea who Flea is*, I just love the spec of the bass. (* That's obviously a lie, but I'm certainly not a fan ).
6. I lived in Scotland for a lot of years (Bannockburn, I was the English Unpopular Front) and Kenny's was pretty damn good. Think they have about 4 shops now. But yes, they came up as pre order available on a search. EDIT. And they no longer have 3 available for pre order, just 2,
7.
You sound like my wife. Your name isn't Helen is it?
Yes but only on the 3rd Tuesday of the month EDIT. Looks like I may be getting offered a spectacular trade, which I don't want to do. But I'm weak and the trade is gorgeous , so this might be gone tomorrow
8.
You weren't kidding about the Flea then? LOLLIPOPS!! All free today :-) (I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER SIGNATURE BASS - repeat....) GLWTS - and purchase.
You've got a Dusty, no other sign bass required
Kind of relieved you're moving this and not the other one!! GLWTS!
Yet
9.
So is it nitro? It hasn't been reliced like nitro
Spec below, but we all know Fender spec can be, erm, inaccurate http://www.kennysmus...CFRYTGwodVGUGrw Like, er, 21 frets??
10. Fender American Signature Series Adam Clayton Jazz bass. Relatively light for a jazz at 9lb 3oz. One heart breaking dink on the front. These are supposed to come with the Deluxe hardcase with orange lining. A lot were sent out in a 70's style Fender logo'd case. Fender in slight cock up shocker! LOLLIPOPS SPECS http://www.thomann.d...n_jazz_bass.htm They appear to sell at £1458 most places in UK. £900 collected from Wigan (or meet within 50 miles of Wigan). Extra £45 insured UK delivery. Yes, expensive, so is the insurance Any trial in Wigan, your rig or mine. Thanks for looking, cheers, Karl. 11.
Oh dear. Will the Wigan bass-shop be open for business again soon, then??
Jeez, I'm not that bad* * I might be that bad!
12. I'm in trouble. I've downloaded a pic of the pink Jazz and it's now my wallpaper
13. Appears they are available to pre order, estimated delivery mid/late July.
14.
I bet there are more than a few people thinking THAT today.
Couldn't possibly think to what you refer
15.
Rubbish! Where's the brass bridge earthing strip? The headstock is too pale, too. Seriously though, if it's the Jazz equivalent of my RW P Bass then Fender are onto a winner. I think I'd rather have the fiesta red/tort/rosewood VVT version though - just to match my P.
Nice to see you are finally out of bed. You can go home now . Be VERY careful what you wish for Edit, damn, missed it. IF YOUR P's those colours . As you were.
16.
Oof
Oh bollocks, suddenly my Adam Clayton Jazz looks like it's going to be making an appearance in the basses for sale
17. Is this the one that I missed on FEEBay last week?
18. Still no reply from Status. Strings ordered 2.40pm yesterday from Strings Direct. Arrived with post 9.25 this morning. Superb service.
19. Cheers Mick. I generally tend to order or ask for info from home on an evening as that is convenient for me. 4 days without reply (not for the 1st time sadly) isn't great. If they offer internet ordering, they should be backing it up really. The problems have been on and off for a year now so really I'm looking for a more reliable service. Many thanks though, cheers, Karl.
20. Excellent Mr. Funk, many thanks
21. I love Status Premium Roundwounds, but , over the last year or so, availability has not been great. I emailed couple of days back about availability of 40 - 100's, no reply. One time last year, I ordered some, paid, and it was 6 weeks before I got them. I need something more reliable, so anybody used them , then switched to something of similar "feel" and tension? Cheers, Karl.
22. He's here ^^^^^^^^^ Moving swiftly on............ I'm thinking it's a superb donor for a one (chrome plated) pick up, Surf Green Tbird alike. So, question I should have asked (as others will like to know) courier possible?
23.
OMG is Jim a Kim now lol
Everyone's a comedian
24. Hiya Jim, some of us might like to know Bolt on neck? Scale length? Weight? Where are you? Colour me interested as could be a great donor body
