Hey ROlo - small world, I took a break from bass to play things like mandolin & have also turned down SXSW due to the bands work commitments. I guess you have to roll with the punches. Welcome to the forum
I owned one, it was a great bass; I really felt like I was buying into a lifestyle when I bought it. I only sold it because my tatty 70s Fenders felt more like "home" to me & it was a lot of money to simply having sitting around. They do vary quite dramatically in neck profiles so I wouldn't write them off after playing one or two - chances are there could be your dream Rickenbacker out there for you
It doesn't bother me either way personally, just now your limits. There are few things worse than being onstage with a band member who is much drunker than you. Especially when it's the drummer

Yep, foam under the bridge cover for me too.

My thoughts exactly.... it's all been said on the basses so I thought I'd mention I genuinely like that rug!
I definitely did when I was 15 but I'd hope I've long dropped all of those moves now I can't recall staging anything for a long, long time.
Fast forward 23yrs & the moves aren't rehearsed, just ingrained. Or possibly inspired by Jack Daniels!
