1. I personally always favour flats so completely concur with the OP. It's a pain having to add a £30 cost to every bass I acquire but then again as has already been said the 75% of you favouring roundwounds probably help support the fact that roundwounds are cheaper which undoubtedly please the bass companies.
2. Very cool. I thought I was the only Basschatter with a Reso Bass
3. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1996-Fender-57-Reiss...=item27b913bcac Very cool
4. Sorry, referring to the modern ones. I'm not doing so well here
5. Why was their any doubt? The EB0s are short scale & the EB3s are long scale with the Epiphone models. Is it because this isn't the case with Gibson ones? I also should have mentioned that I used to own an Epiphone EB3 too so have a bit of first hand experience, just not in this cool white shade.
6. I've only played badly when I've drunk too much. Never any other reason if the set is rehearsed up. Sadly it's a lesson I seem to have to relearn with each & every band I join rather than just default back to the original lesson from my teens first time round. At least it's only once per band I join!
7. There's a Marlin in my local shop in for repair & it appears perfectly fine to me. I wouldn't spend £150, I simply replace the pickup & replace the knobs as those look a bit cheap. I reckon you'll have a nice bass
8. Tom I'm sorry to hear about your health. Best of luck with both the sale & your health in the future
9. I'll stick my neck out here & say I think this band is going to be massive! Joking aside I'm pleased none of the ads I posted when I was 17yrs old made it onto the web
10.
is that cheap for a Mex neck?
No. And he is acknowledging it has a flaw. Remember there will be custom charges too.
11. Water Tower Bucket Boys are great. On the first tour they had a different bass player (Walter) who was mind blowing. Owl the promoter is an old friend of mine & I think this is the third tour he has had them over here
12.
Because I had bids before I realised.
I think my last few sales have just been BIN listings but I'm sure you used to be able to edit listings once people started bidding. Must've changed
13. On the strength of what is written here I wouldn't be put off. A good set up and away you go!
14. The simple answer is no. You wouldn't judge Volkswagon on the VW Fox and I'm sure any music company wouldn't want to use their entry range as their flagship. I owned a 50w Orange Practice amp. It was nice but got sold on quick enough. I've since bought the Terror head and gone back for for an SP210 cab which I've flightcased. I'm a big fan of Orange but it's not because of their Crush range
15. I suspect he knows what he is selling. Hope nobody gets ripped off
16. Sounds like you're sorted but for anyone else starting out this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Introduction-Upright...=item4cf1f757bb got me out the starting blocks
17. I don't understand why you can't re edit the listing. I'm sure I've done that before. I'd probably list it as Fender Squier Precision Bass Squire so as to capture as many searches as possible
18.
So is it long scale? Looks like it, but there's been some doubt ...
It is 34" scale according to the specs online
19. I'm not put off by the, ahem, monotonasticness of my Terror Head. I think it does everything from Reggae to Country to Rock really well.
20. Aren't you supposed to post photos?
21. Very cool. I've been listening to The Zombies just recently who of course had Chris White playing his EB3 bass.
22. Tone aside, you also have to factor in your back Personally I don't think when you factor in the pain that is carting heavy gear around after shows the buy off is better. There are plenty of small rigs that sound just fine & often really quite good
