Up for sale is my Ampeg SVT 210 USA cab that I got from Richardd last year here on Basschat (I can't find the thread for the life of me!). In the tradition of anyone with GAS I really didn't think I'd be selling this as it served me really well... the simple fact was the head I was using packed up and I bought an Orange head to replace it. The cab was great but I really wanted to have a matched set so bought an Orange cab. Suddenly a perfectly great cab became redundant and is now taking up space! Go figure?! The pictures were taken on my phone just prior to deciding to sell a couple of weeks back. This was bought as a back up cab for gigs where space was an issue. Typically punchy but with a surprising amount of low end. I used this at a few gigs Sheffield, Manchester, London & Newport and had a couple of soundmen comment unprompted on what a great cab it was. I have the 1x15 cab too but never needed to put the two together onstage. I drove 200miles + to pick this up and having sold a practice amp postage isn't going to be an option. I simply can't work out how to get postage anything other than sounding like a rip off. I'm in West Berkshire so near the A34 and M4. I don't mind meeting a buyer within an hour of home but ideally it's cash on collection. I paid £235 and in the spirit of Basschat I'd like to make the £235 back. I've since added a custom cover which I'll include in the £235 as a freebie. I look after my gear and this cab didn't leave my house without the cover. I know Ampeg do a cheaper version, the chinese AV mini rig 210 but this is the USA one, not to be confused. A quick search has revealed these going for £250 so I reckon my price is pretty fair. Oh & there is a feedback thread for me on here proving that very few of my BC sales result in serious injury or death! Oh & not interested in any trades as I'm pretty much GAS free right now. Features: 2 x 10" Drivers Horn Variable High Frequency Level High Frequency Protection Bass Reflex Cabinet Design 8 Ohms 400 Watts Program 200 Watts RMS 42 Hz - 18K Hz dynamic range Specifications: 18" x 24" x 16" 55 Pounds Edited to say SOLD
Get a practice drumkit and use a practice amp, or get down the rehearsal studio!
I lean towards agreeing here, although I use a Terror head and it is capable of sounding perfectly serviceable at quieter volumes. Everyone always goes on about how loud these are but mine has always been capable of playing quite softly too. Without fully knowing your situation or band I suspect volume wise everyone is playing to the drummer at present. Harking back to my younger days (& I feel about 82 typing that!) we used to have an "everything louder than everything else" approach to soundchecks and actually this doesn't always get the best out of a band.
Legally you may be correct, but from a moral point of view would it not be more understanding to respect people's wish for some peace and quiet in their homes?
Again I'm in agreement here. I agree with the subsequent point that it is give & take but I've seen many a time where a calm neighbour can change into a very irrate one. In extreme cases Enviromental Health and the Police have been called which is a shame as it is nearly always very avoidable. That said he sounds reasonable at present and the fact that you are posting on it sounds like you are trying to address the situation. Good luck with it
I've always exchanged photos, been brutally honest about any dinks, scratches or problems with the bass, and met at a mutually convenient location. Sometimes home, more often a service station halfway between. Met up, had a coffee and a chat, both parties take a look at the respective basses and leve happy. That's always been my experience, as most people I've dealt with on here have been really nice guys.
Same here. Mutually convenient can just be your house as every time is different & I'm very familiar with far too many motorway service station car parks!

My 78 has it below the serial number but the decal where it says "made in usa" has come away. I wouldn't be surprised if this is what has happened with yours

Having spent most of last year seriously downsizing I wasn't really looking to get new stuff. However my little mini rig, an Orange SP210 cab always needs to be put on a crate and the obvious solution seemed to be to flightcase it. I have flightcases on my big rig but I really wanted Orange laminate rather than the traditional black this time. As luck would have it I came into some money at the weekend that I wasn't expecting. It cleared my credit card's recent hammering with a MOT, service and plummers bill. As a bonus there was enough left over to get a flightcase sorted. I went to Hi-Spec cases who left all other companies for dust. It arrived 36hrs within placing the order! And as a further bonus I've been on a bit of a Beatles fixation for a while. I've had the Rickenbacker stage but like that early stuff too. So put in an order in Germany* for a little Hofner bass which was covered by the remaining cash. Great fun although the short scale is a challenge. Perhaps a little like riding a moped - Enjoyable stuff but I wouldn't want my mates to catch me on it! I occasionally do some soul, 60s poppy sessions with a mates band and I figured it would be useful for that. I'm well into my 60s Psych right now so it may yet venture out live. *It's not hand made in Germany but I bought my Chinese Hofner from Thomann for that vintage vibe!

My band is; Drums or occasionally cajon Bass guitar or occasionally upright bass mandolin or banjo electric guitar and on some songs lapsteel acoustic guitar & harmonica all this is occasionally augmented with onstage keyboards and we've got a trumpet on the new record. The last one had fiddles and pedal steels. I think I can tick the box on the traditional format and it's nice to play with different players

Patch bought my singers Epiphone Hummingbird from me via this site. Prompt payment (nicely gifted too!), good comms and all round good chap to deal with. Nice one!

I too have an old Sony camcorder that must be 7 or 8yrs old. Great sound & picture quality

They've been on EBay for years but I've never seen a bass with anything other than chrome (or nothing obviously!)

Bump for Leicester this Friday at The Donkey

We play all over too. A bit of a lull in attendance after Xmas which is always the case in January but the promoters were happy & said we were their busiest night in weeks. No problems with bookings old & new although struggling to get on the festivals

It's offline for a few weeks whilst Ped is away. There is a post about it somewhere

'51 re-issue Fender P-bass, pickup FELL OUT!
Cat Burrito replied to matt-bass-sparkes's topic in Repairs and Technical
I dropped my 51 P-bass at my last gig & bent the jack plug in the lead but I've never heard of the pickup falling out. Normally it's the jack plug socket that falls out on these - a design fault like the telecaster -
My original Precision has been with me for 20yrs & unlikely to go anywhere. I still gig it occasionally too. I do think keeper is an occasionally overused term here as per the OP though

And I'd at least pretend to be drunk if I was caught wearing that shirt...
