I think I've played most things now - upright & Fender Precisions seem to be favourite with me & what I always come back to. I've tried Les Paul basses, Flying V basses, Rickenbacker basses, Danelectro, headless, Hofner, acoustic, active, twin neck, budget, custom shop, warwick, dobro bass, 5 string, 6 string etc etc.... actually I have never played an 8 string and that's one I'd love to try

We played at What's Cookin' in London last night which is one of the main venues on the alt.country / Americana circuit. Great crowd, good night & we played well. I love the set up on stage (see pic). I took my smaller Ampeg BA115 combo as it's more portable & it sounded great (I thought that during the support band too which is encouraging).

I believe they did. I had a natural one from around 1999 but this was certainly the more popular choice.

I have a little Kustom 16w practice amp that is great fun. I think there is a lot of choice on the market these days & its harder to go wrong

I had my amp die on me at soundcheck at the last gig. The cause was a 4a Slo Blo fuse that are pretty rare. Incredibly the venue had a bass amp & 4x10 cab that I was able to use. I found the fuses on EBay and stocked up accordingly. I have spare tubes etc but lesson learnt on the Slo Blo fuses

I was watching a P-bass on EBay that I forgot about recently that went for £1000. I love that collection shot of yours. An incredible collection.

I've owned a couple (white and sunburst) and played a few - they are amazing value for what you pay for. The neckdive didn't bother me but as Jean Luc Pickguard says, an easy fix. I would always recommend one to anyone curious over trying one.

I really like the Phil Spector album with Christmas (Baby Please COme Home). We did Rocking around the Xmas Tree last year which was good fun. It's just a bit of fun after all

Looking good. I recently acquired an old Antoria Jazz myself (from these very pages) so you've certainly got my interest

I think often the repairs wind up being stronger than the original wood but the risk is it seriously devalues the instrument and can bother the owner. I wouldn't run away from such a sale but I'd certainly be looking to proceed with caution and the word discount would certainly have to be in the sellers vocabulary.

Welcome. I'm a bit of an ex-punk myself & coincidentally supported Norman Watt-Roy (in Wilko Johnson's band) just the other week. An incredible player!

They both look great. I've been playing MIJ / CIJ for 20yrs and I reckon you'd get £400 each as a fair price. Although the prices have since been hiked up since you bought them the second hand prices don't seem to have massively raised by comparison. I'm not in the market for them myself but they make a fine set

I tried my USA P-bass through one and I was blown away. It is insanely light and portable & I'm sorely tempted myself. It does remind me of Stonehenge but looks of amps don't bother me. If I had the money I'd buy one

My guitarist wears a hat all the time because he is greying but has very cool hair. You do what you want. I hate this whole stigma of you can't do this because of a certain reason. The basic premise of rock n roll was that there were no rules. I don't personally care for U2 but I don't see the deal with The Edge - if he wants to wear a hat, fine. A bit like with nose jobs - it obviously doesn't bother Pete Townsend where as Cilla Black obviously was concerned enough to have surgery. Live and let live, I say. Do your thing Fatback, I know I do!
