I may be moving soon and space will be an issue. What are people's thoughts on storing cabs in a garage? They have heavy duty covers and would be off the ground slightly. I have too many to keep in the house and would rather the limited space was reserved for my basses / heads. Any thoughts or experiences?

It works like a 12 string guitar in the sense that there are 2 E strings, 2 A strings etc. So from what you say, you's only be avoiding the 2 Gs.
-
I'd love an 8 string 4005 but that isn't going to be cheap!
-
Great show & it was absolutely rammed!

Manufacturers not giving me free kit to use until my next round of GAS. I've been polite and not said anything until now!

I'm coming up 47 in a few weeks but yeah, missed it first time around but saw the film over 20yrs ago. Most of my tastes in art, music and film are older than my years, so yeah, I was happy with the comparison.

Friday night in Lewes and the local paper said "I haven’t come across Last Great Dreamers before, but I like them straight away. Visually they are striking, looking like a Clockwork Orange droog gang who have stumbled across boho chic. Musically they get straight to the point with superbly catchy glam tinged pop punk, stacked with killer riffs and lush vocal harmonies. The songs are immediately engaging, and on stage every band member is really going for it, and you can’t ask much more than that." and then Saturday night was the 100 Club, which was my favourite gig of the decade (although the decade is but 12 days old!)

If you contact Orange direct through the website I've found them to be really quick to reply and helpful. They can give you the official line on how to use their products. I use Orange all the time now and find them perfect for my needs. I must confess I have a total brain freeze when it comes to science so the first whiff of an ohm and I am lost, so I emailed them too about this - jrikx's link is great. I alternate between one and two Orange cabs when using my Terror head and adjust my ohm setting accordingly.

No photos but we played a sold out show in a tiny pub in Acton... the trick to a sold out show at our level seems to be existing club nights in small venues! Anyhow, 14 seconds of video exists of our song "Turn It Up" - Johnny Thunders meets Adam Ant, anybody?
-
A massive venue that was changed at the last minute to an industrial estate in Milan. The change wasn't really advertised so we pulled 10 people in a venue that could have held 1500.

Pretty much anything old school looking that isn't going to play havoc with my ageing shoulder. i.e. not too heavy!

54 shows, including new territories for me like Italy, Sweden, Norway, Austria and, um, Stoke.

I actually think it's more to do with the combination of what the other players are doing too. My 3 piece is more old school rock 'n' roll and the Jazz doesn't sound so good up against a Getsch type guitar. I'm sure with Jimmy Page or Jimi Hendrix, I would have less of an issue! Or perhaps I just need to play with somebody called Jimmy?!
-
I prefer the look of Jazz basses but I always found they do get more lost in the mix. I put flats on mine and boost the upper mids BUT they don't work well in stripped back bands like 3 pieces. Better in a bigger band set up, in my humble opinion.

When is classic rock not classic rock?
Cat Burrito replied to odysseus's topic in General Discussion
I played my band to the young newbie girl at work, who clearly liked her rock. "Old school" she said. "nah," I replied, "we're just old!" -
I'm not interested in splitting these. Two unused Fender California Series 20ft cables, bought as back up in 2018 but I have since gone wireless. They've literally just sat in a cupboard. £18 for the pair, including UK only postage. The spec is here https://www.reidys.com/index.pl?submit=View_PLU&PLU=18809 in case anyone wants the lowdown on a lead?!

I bought this in 2018, tried it two or three times tops at home (& it sounded a lot of fun) but live, I'm not really an effects user. It's sat in a cupboard since! Still boxed with the plastic. Easy to use and in great condition, obviously given it's limited usage. To nit pick, the cardboard box sat in storage is the only thing that suggests this isn't brand new. Priced at £20 including UK delivery only. Picture taken on my phone late last night. Features/Specifications Input Impedance: 1MΩ Output Impedance: 1KΩ less Nominal Output Level: -20dBu Rate Control: 90ms ? 900ms Current Draw: 20mA Connectors: Input Jack, Output Jack, DC Input Controls: Rate, Wave, Depth Bypass: True bypass Power Supply: 9V Alkaline Battery or DC 9V Adapter Dimensions: W110 mm X H 60mm X D 53mm (4.3" X 2.4" X 2.1")

She's obviously a pro. My cats are such amateurs that merely interrupt play...

I always associate Spector basses with the tail end of what is now called Hair Metal. The early 90s was littered with adverts in Bassist magazine with the likes of Rachel Bolan from Skid Row clutching his Spector. Personally I preferred the more traditional look of a bassist rocking a Thunderbird or a Precision but Spectors can sound good. The look was just not to my personal tastes.

Celestion Speaker in Fender Bassman TV 15
Cat Burrito replied to Volunteer Department's topic in Amps and Cabs
I always found Watford Valves really helpful https://www.watfordvalves.com/products.asp?ID=4&man=171 Just remember a new speaker will require some time to properly settle in.- 6 replies

I always fancied one of these but they are very hard to come by now. I did road test one in Salisbury back when they first came out but it was the weight that put me off. Not so much the fact it was heavy but the weight distribution in trying to lift it with just that one top handle was quite ridiculous.
