I even did a 0% finance deal so it was a down payment of £48 and then monthly payments of £30. The side handles make it seem lighter than it really is and it suits the rest of my rig. My Thunderbird was 2 1/2 years old when I bought it from new and it never bothered me. Some stock just takes longer to shift.

Okay so technically it was actually around 10 days ago but I just never got around to sharing this. Do you exercise much? I was all bunged up awaiting a sinus op last year and my legs were often cramped. After the op, to celebrate breathing normally, I began exercising again and no leg cramps. Just stretch out a bit at least.

Almost certainly, simply because it gives the band a bit of credibility before you've even done anything.

All the journalists spoke admirably about Paul. When doing taped interviews, if the tape stopped, he would flip their cassette over, having paused and simply repeat his last couple of sentences in case they hadn't been captured. Very cool.

I'm going to that show. It's a shame Paul's voice is shot these days. I grew up with Kiss so I readily forgive it's all gone a bit silly these days.

I stopped completely at 26 because I thought I was getting too old. I feel silly about that now but it was good to have a 4yr break at the time. The last 15yrs of playing again have been much more enjoyable, As has been stated already, i[color=#282828][font=helvetica, arial, sans-serif]f you're not enjoying it any more, then don't do it. Not just indie, plenty of rock bands who do that too. Equally a lot of 80s indie bands seemed to have very innovative bass lines. I'm lucky in that I work with two great drummers at the moment, one whom I have been with for 8yrs. I've definitely been through my fair share of drummer issues over the years though and this thread makes me realise I'd been taking the current situation for granted.

Every relationship is different so I guess it is a case of what works for each couple. My wife comes to the bigger main shows and local ones, childcare permitting. She likes both my current bands but will say (in the past) if she doesn't like something.

I had one & it was fantastic. It only lasted about 4 years though which didn't impress me but it was great whilst it worked.

People get enjoyment in many ways and because you like one thing it doesn't mean you can't enjoy something else. I suspect that is why the question hasn't been asked before...

Was it the same backline across the 3 bands? At the height of my GAS I had 6 P-basses and they all sounded like me in the mix of a band playing but subtly different if compared to one another.

I view charity as a personal matter (I privately donate to carefully screened charities) and not one for my bands to get involved in. Sadly there are too many people who take advantage and money goes missing etc. I've heard horror stories of 50% cuts and all sorts. It might be business as said but when bar staff are getting paid, landlords are getting a regular flow of drinking punters and the bands are getting no soundcheck, no thanks and being ordered to share kit, I will pass. Been there, done that.

I played Hemel back in the 90s... and I'm not just showing off, I really did! And it was the White Hart too. Great venue. This ain't no dress rehearsal, this is the big time!

I used to be an idealist and think you had to like every song... now I think you can have one or two in a set that you are not so keen on. It's a compromise with band mates after all. Having always done originals bands, until a few years back - I found that I liked learning and studying other players, getting paid better and having a crowd go mad. It's a balance though - I'm 30yrs in and have never played Sex on Fire. No problem with the song, just not for me. Mustang Sally I'd probably do but it has never come up within any band I've played in. I think I like to try things before I decide it is definitely not for me.

It's not impossible but you limit your options. I didn't learn to drive until I was 24 so I was always reliant on keen band members to help me out. I think if you are not driving you should make sure you are pulling your weight in other areas because driving to and particularly from gigs is a pain. It's not an automatic "no" but anyone wanting to audition for one of my bands immediately gets us thinking about how realistic the logistics are. Rehearsals are easy enough but gigs where you need your amp can be harder.
