1. It has a chip on the back but apart from that it is fine. Only got it a few months ago. reason for selling is i will have a custom jazz soon that i have been assembling for a while now and also starting another project too which is going to be a custom fenderbird 5 string and i already have 3 basses and the neck doesnt suit me. PM me offers, unsure on how much the P&P will be but i will try and find out. Also instead of saying stagg on the headstock it says G2 which is i beleive is still stagg but perhaps a cheaper version. I will post up some pictures later tonight or tomorrow.
2. thanks yorks5stringer. next im gonna do all my paint job , its a real pain because i really do hate grainfilling...
3. Any advice on drilling ALL my holes before the paintjob? I will be doing the bridge holes tonight to make sure the pups and strings all align properly. still no paintjob yet BUT i do have everything.
4. Any updates? mine is still going very slow...
5. This bridge placement is a pain in the arse... im confused about step 5. Do i measure an inch back on the 2 lines and make a mark and then connect them or do i measure an inch on one line then measure the distance between the last fret and that mark then mark that distance on the other line and connect the two? Just i really dont wanna end up with a bridge in the wrong place or a bunch of screw holes from previous attempts.
6. Was in a guitar shop and they got a brand called G2. anyone know anything about them?
7. Any links or reviews or anything about the 4+1 kit?
8. Here's an interesting thread i started up over in talkbass. Think this may be project number 2 for me.
9.
You should be using more than that...
Any link or more advice about this? Rather not build myself a spray booth.
10. i just got my self one of these for when i gotta do my finish. 25 quid after P&P. recommended by the man from manchester guitar tech
11. cheers for the quick answer.
12. So i bought a Audere jazz 3EQ and would rather not have to remove the control plate everytime the batteyr dies, sooo is there a guide or tutorial for getting a battery compartment into the back of the bass. Any help would be great.
13. Got a pair of wizard 84's and nothing with it said which wire was hot, i got a grey/white and a black. Any help?
14. could you put my name on the list? I'm sure i already did but can't find the post so must have been a dream or something. BTW i live all the way up in glasgow so this could be a chance for the Scots to give it a try (also save me postage moving it along haha)
15. If I were to give them everything required to build a bass inc. paint for finish would I be correct in thinking that they would build it for me and sort everything else out while they are at it i.e. action, intonation, fret filing Just there just isn't enough time to get this all done and at this rate it might be done by Xmas... BTW if I am correct are there any recommended luthiers in Glasgow? Cheers, Andrew
16. Got my cans from that guy, not used them yet but should be next week. Al let you know how it goes.
17. Well i bought everything else i needed last night which was my pickguard, Audere JZ3 preamp, wizard 84's and schaller strap locks. I bought the hipshots and the bushings that came with it are like 1-2mm too small but once they are properly fitted clamped down they will be fine. So hopefully by the end of the week i will have all i need for a great Jazz bass. So far i have sanded the body with 120->240->320->very fine wire wool and used grain filler but unsure if i have filled all the grain so i will be trying to fill the grain again in a few days just to make sure, is there any technique that i can use to make sure i do it properly and/or can see it's filled properly? Gotta get the 4 holes in the neck drilled so i can work out where the bridge goes and get the bridge->cavity ground hole drilled then. But do i drill ALL my holes before i paint it or after? i.e. pickguard, control plate, strap locks holes drilled?
18. Anyone got any experience with it? Seems like the right one for me but it will cost somewhere in the region of 200$ to get to me. I would be using Wizards 84's with it if that helps. Just dont wanna buy something this expensive and for it to be rubbish...
19. Well i havnt really seen many unfinished P/J bodies for sale on eBay and was thinking of have the P look with the extra J PUP (the pickguards look) all i would do is buy the P body and work some magic.
20. Just wondering if it was possible and if there is any guides around. I would imagine getting something really pointy and stabbing away at the space under the P PUP
21. i have finally cut down my choice of PUP's to either the SD's or the wizards. Anyone used both and can compare? Any help would be great thanks.
22. Wow great job, the 1st pic compared the the latest made me bet it plays great
