  1. Will do mate, thanks again. 😊
  2. Cheers dood, I'll have a look at that video. I played again last night and we were at a slightly lower volume so it wasn' so much of an issue, but I am now looking at a gig per week at least, so I think something like the Behringer is going to be an essential pice of kit as far as I'm concerned. 😊
  3. Through the ages...
  4. Hey all, I played my first full band gig in a couple of years last night and experienced the same issues that partially made me stop playing with the last band, namely loud on-stage volume. Now don't get me wrong - this new band are not ear-splittingly loud for a pub/function band, but we play venues that are small and this means that I am stood right next to the drummer for 2+ hours. I'm waiting to see the ENT specialist about my hearing loss, but I wanted to pick your collective brains about this. Has anyone used something similar to this to monitor their own playing with the intention of filtering out on-stage volume at the same time? https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/Behringer-P2-Ultra-Compact-Personal-In-Ear-Monitor-Amplifier/26FN The only things that go through our PA is the vocals and keyboards, so I'm not intending to use something like the Behringer to monitor the whole band - more to cut the amount of volume from the overall stage sound while retaining my amp signal by taking a line out of my amp and into this neat looking box. Any thoughts?
  5. 1987 (I think...) DOD FX62 Bass Stereo Chorus pedal, I've had this a long time but because the power input doesn't work, and will only run off a 9v battery, I bought a Digitech one to replace it. As I've said, it works fine with a battery, is in decent condition considering how old it is (all knobs present and correct), and comes in it's original box with instructions and can be yours for £25 delivered. Paypal is my preferred payment method. Cheers. ***NOW SOLD***
  6. ***NOW SOLD*** Digitech X Series Bass Multi Voice Chorus pedal, in excellent condition, barely used and has been sitting on my pedal board gathering dust. Great bit of kit with loads of usable settings, comes in its box with instructions, ***FINAL PRICE DROP NOW £35*** delivered. Paypal is my preferred method of payment. Cheers.
  7. Blancmange's "Living On The Ceiling", with the line "I'm up and down, I'm up the wall, I'm up the bloody tree" still gets changed by some radio stations to "up the cuckoo tree". Zero chance of them playing anything by Anal C**t....
  8. Audition this coming Thursday - Stevie Wonder, Chic, Luther Vandross in the set. My funk chops are AWOL and I'm going to flunk it big style.

      Great news!

Funk chops with apple sauce all 'round then.

  9. That's the T-Bass he used for the Italian gig. Interesting that in a recent BGM interview he said that they wouldn't be going out and playing Police songs or Level 42 songs because that wasn't the point of the Gizmodrome project, and yet here we are....
  10. MK used one with Gizmodrome on their recent Italy show. With a pick. And he's said recently that he's also started using a heavier gauge string. It's true that in recent years his tone has become thinner since using the KingBass model, but to me it is only apparent on recorded stuff (the Metropolis gig video is a prime example of this). Live, (as in actually being in the same room with him) his sound has always been powerful, but very different to his Jaydee / Alembic days. From what I've heard of him playing the T-Bass his sound has fattened up somewhat, which is a good thing I think. It's easy to be cynical when it comes to Mark's association with Status, the countless tweaks on his KingBass being the main reason for this, but remember this: Status did pretty well without Mark's high profile use while he was using his Alembics pretty much exclusively at the end of the 80s/early 90s, players like Jaz Lochrie, Michael McKeegan, and Mike Porcaro were swinging their Statii about while everyone else was going back to vintage Fenders, and Status have always sold instruments regardless of artist endorsement. If I was a luthier and someone as high profile as Mr King wanted to use my basses exclusively, I'd be a fool to turn him down. It's business after all innit? 😊
  11. Wow, they look really good framed don't they? 😉 Thanks for posting! 😊
  12. This is great, but I need to lie down after watching that...
  13. I've basically tried to create an infographic (without too much "info"...) in a pop art stylee. 😊 Thanks for the props BassTractor, very much appreciated! 😀
  14. ***Please note the price indicated above is the total for all four pedals. They are all priced individually but I am willing to take offers on all four items as a job lot.*** Hi folks, I'm moving on some pedals that I no longer use, items as follows: Ashdown Sub Octave Plus Bass pedal, in good condition, no box or instructions I'm afraid but does come with a monstorous sound perfect for loosening bowels and scaring cats. Has been gigged so bears a few marks here and there but hasn't been used recently at all. £40 inc P+P Digitech X Series Bass Multi Voice Chorus pedal, in excellent (almost "as new") condition, comes with box and instructions, barely gigged and has been sat on my pedal board gathering dust. Good bit of kit with loads of settings, £50 inc P+P 1987 (I think...) DOD FX62 Bass Stereo Chorus pedal, I've had this a long time but because the power input doesn't work, and will only run off a 9v battery, I bought the Digitech one to replace it. As I've said, it works fine with a battery, is in decent condition considering how old it is (all knobs present and correct), and comes in it's original box with instructions and can be yours for £30 inc P+P. Finally, here is my trusty Planet Waves PW-CT-04 Chromatic Tuner pedal, has never failed me, is built like a tank, is suitable for both guitar and bass, and is as good as the Boss equivalent. Reverb.com are currently selling one for £36, you can have mine for £30 inc P+P. No box or instructions I'm afraid, but is very simple to use. I will ensure all items are sent out wrapped in all manner of protection whether they're in a box or not, and as far as payment goes, Paypal is preferred. Cheers
  15. Hi all, You may have seen this in it's own thread over on General Discussion - I now have in my possession 6 copies for sale from the original run of 10. Professionally printed on 180gsm matt finish paper, this image can be hung in portrait or landscape fashion, and, quite frankly, will look fantastic on any wall in any bassists abode. £40 per print (that includes P+P). Paypal is my preferred method of payment as is the way these days. Cheers!
  16. The funkiest one-note bass line ever? 😊
  17. I've ordered 10 copies from the printers, 3 have been sold (plus one of the guitar pieces), the rest will appear on marketplace. I was going to try to get 10 pre-sold then order the prints but it hasn't worked out like that, and I didn't want to keep those that had ordered waiting too long. 😊
  18. To all those that have expressed interest in ordering a copy of this - I haven't forgotten you, I will get my @rse into gear and will be visiting the printers this week. 😊
  19. But is it as iconic as a Stingray or a Precision? Again, I wanted to limit it to 20, and there are just too many 4 strings that sit above any 5 string in terms of being recognisable to most bassists (and musicians). "Iconic" is the key word here, but I totally understand that it's subjective. 😊
