"20 Iconic Bass Guitars" - somefing wot I did...
Grassie replied to Grassie's topic in General Discussion
Right. I have a price from a local printers that I'm happy with. I'm going to order 10 to start with if I get 10 confirmed orders from BC'ers. I'm not sure if I'm breaking any forum rules by not putting this on Marketplace though... Any solid interest then please PM me. @BassTractor - definitely less than £300... And if anyone has guitarist chums.... -

Thank you for all the lovely comments guys. So I am now in the process of pricing this up as an A2 print, to include P&P. I will have to source and buy some postage tubes but that's something that I've been looking at already as I have other poster designs that I'm trying to persuade people to buy... 😉😆 -

Another reason not to put text on there is that it gives the owner the choice of hanging it landscape or portrait. You guys are looking at it as almost landscape but it was done in a portrait orientation. 😊 -

I'm going to get one printed up in A2 size, see how that looks. I also have a guitar version on the go... 😊 -

Thank you! I was going to label them, but I quite like it without any text, gives it a bit more of a pop-art look, which is what I was after. -
Entitled "20 Iconic Bass Guitars", I'm thinking of making this available to BC members as a print in either A3 or A2 sizes providing I get enough interest... This image you're looking at is printed on bog standard A4 and really need to be seen in a bigger format, but you probably get the idea. Any criticism welcome...

Real Fenders you regret not buying.

I was offered a '75 Precision in the late 90's for £400, and a Fender Japan pink paisley P-bass for £500 about 8 years ago... -
Worth posting this then. I think it's up on BC in another thread, but for those unaware...

Good to see some positive vibes for STP from everyone. Most of the other opinions I've read are very positive - people seem to be willing them on to do well, probably because they had such a torrid time wih SW. They are my favourite rock band of all time and Scott was the last of the great frontmen IMO. Robert is also my favourite rock bassist, such a groover, and that band are just untouchable when they are at their best. ?

They've bagged themselves a new singer, a former X-Factor USA contestant no less, but don't let that put you off. The guy has the chops to commemorate Scott Weiland's legacy, and has his own thing going on too. I hope they do really well with him, if ever a band deserves a new start, it's this lot. Oh, and Robert DeLeo has bagged himself a new bass too - a Nelson custom PJ. Never heard of 'em.

I actually have the same problem with my phone and am waiting for a sensible answer... 😂😂😂

Michael Anthony was without doubt Van Halen's secret weapon. Impeccable timing, great backing vocals, a sixteenth note pulse that would kill lesser bassists and a thoroughly decent chap to boot. The only proof of his ability you'll ever need is the Live:Right Here, Right Now concert film. Michael Anthony is a badass.

Naff things that vocalists say (during the song)
I used to play in a (blues) band in which the singer would preface EVERY guitar solo with 'play me some blues on that thing' and every one of his harp solos with 'excuse me a while'.
My toes curled just reading that. 😊 -

IMO anyone who thinks that using tab, chord diagrams or any other tool that helps a player learn their instrument is somehow "wrong", belong in the same category as bassists that believe using a pick is also somehow "wrong".
Sorry, he didn't mention why a 6 string. Can only assume it's for Gizmodrome, his new band with Adrian Belew & Stewart Copeland?
Disappointingly, he did say in the article that he's only got it "for noodling on". Somewhat inspired by seeing Thundercat at Glastonbury, he asked Status to make him a six string version of his paramatrix bass. So there you go - just gonna give Rob Green a buzz and tell him I too saw Thundercat (on telly) and can I have a free bass please. 😂 I'm actually hoping to see MK play that sixer live.😊

I bought a Sire MM V7 last year from Thomann, very playable straightouttadabox. Only needed minor tweaking to get it up to my preferred set-up. 😊
