1. Anybody interested at all? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWyzRZGAQbU
2. Hey I'm selling this on behalf of my bands lead guitardist (yes, that is meant to say guitardist). It's a Boss ME-50 multi effect floor pedal. He used it for a few practises and 1 or 2 gigs but nothing more as he got bought the ME-70 for his birthday so he doesn't need this one any more. It is meant to be for guitar, but I have also used it with my bass rig and it sounds absolutely killer. Again, as I mentioned in another listing, I was trying to get a Cliff Burton-esque tone for the FWTBT cover we did. I used this at a couple of practises and managed to get some killer bass tones through it. I loved using the Wah pedal with a touch of chorus, half dialed overdrive and a lot of compression. Sounded awesome! Overall condition? 9/10. No marks on it that I can really see to be honest. Erm, I don't really know much about these so i'll just copy and paste what's on the BOSS website.
* Floor-based multi-effects processor with BOSS' most intuitive interface ever * 30 Preset Patches including delay, modulation, reverb, compressor and more * Killer COSM overdrive/distortion effects including * Dedicated knobs for each effect section—no menus to navigate! * Tone Modify function offers Preset EQ settings for quick tone editing * 3 footswitches for switching effects on and off with a single stomp * Onboard expression pedal pre-routed to 6 modulation options or volume * Rugged metal case with clear panel layout
He said he wants around £100 for it but is open to offers. It is unboxed but (edited this in) WILL COME PACKAGED IN A PADDED LAPTOP BAG AS PICTURED!. Postage? I'd say around a tenner but if you make a good enough offer (the £100 he wants) I'll make him take the postage costs out of that. How does that sound The laptop case itsself was £20 to buy haha. Cheers Stevie Pictures:
3. Hey I have here a well used but perfectly working Electro Harmonix Double Muff pedal. I used it in my old thrash metal band along with the guitarists Kirk Hamsandwich wah pedal to try and get the Cliff Burton "Bell Tolls" tone for when we did our cover of the said song. Came very close but it's never gunna be Cliff's tone is it Anyways, it's well used as I said. The front is very scratched up but everything works perfectly on it. The scratched up front gives it a pretty cool look actually haha. I have just serviced the pedal too so I've basically gone over all the wiring to check it was all in tact and tightened the input jack bolts, potentiometer bolts and oiled the pots too just to keep them nice and free moving (also stops them going crackly) Not much else to say about this pedal really. If it's your cuppa tea, take it. If not, don't. Simple. haha £20 plus £2/£3 postage. Cheers Stevie
4. But none of those come with the software and are normally scratched up. This one comes with the Ableton Live software and all the other software, plus its in perfect condition. So that offer is way below the bar i'm afraid
5. THIS BASS IS NOW SOLD! Thanks very much to the buyer! I'm so sad to see this go :'(
6.
You manage to get a week of zinginess out of Rotos? I stopped using them a few years back and have since tried a whole load of different strings. Have now settled on DR Highbeams, plenty of oomph and they seem to stay nice and bright for a good long time. Not cheap initially but they last and last. Can be found cheapish on ebay from various U.S. sellers (although there has been talk of same fakes of late). If you are on a tight budget it might be worth considering the seller on Ebay who does three packs of Hartke strings for about £12. I've had them in the past and been quite happy with them.
Thanks very much dude, ive heard nothing but good things about DR strings so I'm going to give them a go. Rotosound just seem to be really sh*t in the last year but I stuck with them in the hope they'd get better. I'll skip the Hartke ones though thanks I don't like anything to do with Hartke. Never been a fan of their equipment. Cheers Stewart, someone else mentioned Elites so I'll give them a go on another bass to see how they hold up. And lastly, Attitudecastle, neeeeever again will I use SH's sig set. They go dull after a few days and as I said before, flatwounds hurt my fingers. Steve never uses the same set for 2 shows on the trot either. Mike Kenney changes them everyday for him which is how he retains the brightness to them. I've had 5 sets of them at various points over the last few years and everytime I've questioned why I had bought them. I then bought the Steve Harris Fender Signature Bass and it came with those fitted so as soon as I could afford some new ones, i restrung it with the RS66LE 50-110 set
7. PS, I REFUSE TO USE ERNIE BALL! Bad experiences with them...
8. Hey Right, for the last 3 years, i've exclusively used Rotosound RS66-LE 110-50 gauge strings on my basses (Tobias, BC Rich, Fender, Epiphone) and I've loved them... but now I'm not so sure on them. For the first week, the initial brightness and (excuse the term) "zingy slap" that comes from them as they clank on the fretboard is orgasmic, but over the last few months I've noticed that after the first week/two weeks, they go really dull and thuddy. I must add that I change my strings every 6 weeks to try and keep the bass sounding fresh as I do a lot of recording work for various people and I also play in quite a few bands (currently in 4, 2 prog rock bands, a hardcore band and a death core band. Why the deathcore one? It's a bit of a laugh haha) So, I need some advice on what strings to change to. I don't want to change the gauge, they must be 50 - 110 as I have one bass in E standard/Drop D and the other one in Drop C/Drop C#, basically, for the bands my tunings are: Crimson Dream - E flat/drop C# Deez Sluts - Drop C Ayfx - Drop D For playing at home I normally play in E standard as I play alot of Iron Maiden and Rush when I'm at home. The deathcore band, I Eat Ghosts, play in Drop A# but I've got a bass specially set up for that. Anyways, I need you to recommend some strings in that gauge that are very bright/high treble end and that will stay bright for a decent amount of time. I don't care what make they are either. I don't want to go to Flatwounds either as they hurt my fingers. Thanks guys! Stevie
9.
Hey man sad to see this go surely you should keep hold of it ill have that iphone though if its going!
Haha! cheeky git! Unfortunately it is going. I've had an offer on it that I've accepted. I would sell the iPhone but as well as it not fetching as much as the bass would, I found out I can't live without it 2 weeks ago My iPhone broke so I had to have it replaced but didn't get the replacement for 2 days... Worst 2 days EVER! My friends all took the piss out of me 'cos I had to use a blackberry
10. Haha, yeah, I've been competing in the world chess tournaments for the last month or 2. I was bloody good! Nah, i've been quite ill for a while and not been on here at all. Unfortunately there has been absolutely no progress on this bass at all. I still need to sort out the edges of the squares to get rid of the bits of paint that went through the tape. It's going to be a long process and to be honest, I don't know if I can be bothered to do it. I've seriously lost interest in this bass =/ It really sucks that I have considering the time I've already put in to it. It's been sitting on a stand behind my corner stand waiting to be finished. If anyone knows anyone who would be willing to sort the edges of all the squares out for me then I could probably sort them some money for doing it but as it stands, I don't see it getting finished. As it is, it needs to have the edges cleaned up then it needs to be lacquered. Cheers Stevie
11. Possibly sold but I'm still welcoming offers guys!
12.
MOT! Have a bump from a fellow White Best of luck on the job front. Might sound daft, but maybe local BC'ers might be able to aid in the search? Also, whilst I'm thinking about it - as an employer, I'd be happy to review your CV, if you'd like opinions. Always happy to help.
Hi there MOT back at you! We've had our ups and downs Thanks very much, i'll send you over my CV and if you could give it the once over and see where i'm going wrong that would be great! Thanks again, and I may have just sold the bass as well I'm hoping Stevie
13.
I'd probably sell the iphone over the bass
Haha, I considered it, but I'd get less for the iPhone
14. Thanks for all the support guys. I really do have to sell it though. The only other basses I've got are my Steve Harris sig (which has alot of sentimental meaning to me) and my Tobias (which was my 18th birthday pressie from my parents so never selling that) so this has to go. Oh, and Gust0o, yes mate, Massssive Leeds United fan. I actually had the picture you have as your display pic on my iPhone wallpaper for ages. I was also at the Burnley game end of season, as well as a number of other games across the season but due to being so far away, it's not easy to get to. Hopefully that luxury won't be taken away from me!
15. Aye tell me about it. It sucks as well 'cos I love recording at home. My band are in the middle of recording our EP/Mini-album at mine and it's sounding wicked so far. Once I start getting money again i'll probably buy another one or the UX8 (if I get a really good job)
16. Hey guys For sale here is my beloved custom built orange Precision Bass. Money problems are forcing me to sell this. Haven't had a job since new year (even through sending a billion CV's off, and I don't mean the Squier basses either haha) I would call it a Fender as at heart, it really is but due to the neck on it, I will get in trouble if I call it one. I built this bass myself but had it professionally painted by a classic car restoration company in Milton Keynes, I knew the owner so I asked him to do it and he gave me a price. Not a bad price considering it was such a good job. The black outline pin stripe was apparently done by hand too. Here's the spec for you all: Alder Fender body (from the Japanese series Fender Precision Standard, sourced off eBay for £200) DR Parts 1 piece maple neck with 20 frets (un-lacquered like it was when I bought it for £80) Schaller tuning pegs (black, £50) Seymour Duncan SPB-1 pick ups (£50) Big block "badass style" bridge (£20) 3 ply black/white/black pickguard from a Fender Precision japanese standard to match the body (£30) Black metal control knobs (1 volume 1 tone, £10 for the pair) Graphtech PT1204 black tusq xl top nut (£12) Black string retainer (£8) Fender CTS wiring kit (£20) Custom chosen "jagermeister" orange finish with black pinstripe binding stripe round the edge (professionally done, cost me £400 for the paintjob) Allen key holder (£10 and fitted to the back of the headstock) Fender "F" stamped chrome neck plate (yeah, if they did a black one, I would of bought it but they didnt haha. £15) Set up for E standard/Drop D tuning with Rotosound RS66LE 50-110 strings, low action, perfect intonation reading the open note at the 12th fret and 12th harmonic. No fret buzz at all and neck set with a small amount of forward bow which was done at my local guitar shop in Bedford. Total build cost: £915 Now, as for condition, I'd say this is 9/10 for condition. Here are the issues I can see (which will be pictured) * 2 extremely small dents on the bottom edge next to the input jack * 1 pin sized dent just above the pickguard * 3 pin sized dents just above the control section * 1 small dent on the top edge where your arm would come across the bass * Some small scratches to the back from being played * 2 tiny dents in the neck which you don't notice when played (back of 4th and 6th fret) * Extra screw hole in the headstock from where I had a 2nd string retainer (don't ask me why I did that... I thought it looked cool) And this isn't really damage but this will be marmite to alot of people. I had the "Eddie and cross guns" logo on that link (done in black) put on the tip of the headstock. I can easily remove it but if you're an Iron Maiden fan and would like it left on there I will leave it on for you. More pictures will be coming along in the morning. Now, considering I spent so much having it built, I don't think my asking price of [s]£500 o.n.o.[/s]SOLD is bad at all. So many people who have tried this have said how it plays, sounds and looks so much better than the Fender American Standard precision basses and obviously the Mex/Jap p-basses. I think it does as well and you are more than welcome to come down and try it out any time. I have my Trace Elliot amp with Marshall cabs you can run it through or you can bring your own amp to try it out with. Pictures: Again, iPhone camera... Not so good. I don't have a better one to use for it. I'll see if I can borrow one to get better pictures. These pictures really don't do the finish any justice. Bridge shot: Yes, I kept my picks in the bridge Body shot: Cool angle Whole body shot: Spread eagle on my bed. Naughty! you can just see the logo on the headstock in this Band practise shot: ignore the tape over the strap, was just a safety precaution Band practise shot: back of the bass, I'm so happy Band practise shot: I had a whole corner to myself. #basplayeregosrule! I really don't want to see this go but I need the money desperately. Cheers Stevie.D THIS BASS IS NOW SOLD
17. Hi there I'm looking to sell my Line 6 Toneport UX2. I've been out of a job for quite a long time now and money is really getting tight so I'm selling a few of my things including my beloved custom orange Precision Bass (Precision Bass for sale) This Toneport Ux2 is the red faced one, it's in immaculate condition as it's just sat on my desk and not moved since I've had it. It comes with all the software it originally came with which includes Ableton Live and the drivers on separate CDs. I no longer have the original box for it (chucked it during a clear out) but I will package it very well in bubble wrap and what-not. Once you install the Toneport on your computer/mac, you can automatically download Pod Farm and Gearbox for free which are both really good guitar, bass and vocal amp simulators. I've recorded numerous demos through this thing into Reaper, Ableton, Logic Pro 8, Cubase and Audacity. Never had a single problem with it either. When I bought this new it was £165 so considering I've had it just over a year, I'm looking for £120 for it but make me an offer. Pictures: (Please excuse the quality. iPhone 3GS's aren't renowned for their amazing cameras. Better pictures can be posted upon request) Cheers for your time!
18. I tried that over a month ago just so i had one in time but haven't had a reply. It really sucks. I bought the pre from another user on here who took it out of his bass a while ago so there was no wiring diagram with it. I only need to know how to wire in the volume pot, input jack and if there needs to be any wires going from the volume or input to the blend pot, blend pot to input or vice versa. Someone must have a Spector out there with a Tone Pump Jr wired in for Volume, Blend, Treble, Bass who can help?
19. Hi guys I just bought a Spector Tone Pump JR to go in my Tobias bass but when I went to fit it, the wiring looked completely different to what it used to be when I had the Tobias pre-amp in there. Anyways, the controls that came for it are Volume Blend Treble Bass I've looked all over the spector website and google images but cannot for the life of me find a Tone Pump Jr wiring diagram. I would use a Tone Pump standard wiring diagram but there are 2 extra wires coming out of the Tone Pump standard than there are on the Tone Pump Jr. I should also mention that I'm using the standard Tobias input jack (which is the same as found on most active basses Please help me get this sorted, I need to get it fitted asap! Cheers Stevie
20. Ps. As I'm writing this, I've been listening to "Brothers In Arms" by Dire Straits on repeat. Greatest song EVER! and I know this is a bass guitar website, but Mark Knopfler's tone on that song is the most beautiful tone ever. Especially when he hits that overdriven chord at the end of one of the verses. OH LORD!
