1. Yeah man, that's pretty much how Mr. H uses his. just suits my bands sound perfectly as well Buuuut, this is a bump. So BUMP!
2. *blushes* yeeeah, I didn't go looking through for pictures of Steve's Trace and copy the EQ on it... I totally never ever ever did that Ok, I lie, I did... But now I've moved the mid slider up to add a bit of balls to the mix
3. Haha it's pretty insane I do love the tone I get out of this thing though Absolutely perrrrfect
4. Hey guys Basically, I've got the Trace Elliot Series 6 GP12 Bass head but the one I have is not the proper rackmountable version and has no where to attach rack ears onto so I brought one of those 2U rack tracks and attached that to the top of it (making no modification to the actual bass head at all) But now, I'm going to be moving to a bigger rack box and I really don't think it's the best idea for me to keep this one So, i'm offering this one up for trade for another Trace Elliot GP12 but it has to be rackmountable. Well, it can either be another GP12 or something similar. I'm not going to lie and say this has never been gigged or anything as such, because it has. This amp is from 1991. I've been using it ever since I nought it and it's never failed me or let me down. I have had it maintained and serviced this year just before I did a run of 10 gigs in 2 months In my eyes, the amp is in absolutely perfect condition and works like a dream. *Edit* Just been searching EVERYWHERE for the case sleeve that it originally came in and I cannot find it anywhere. My first suspision is that my dad has binned it. If I can't find it, I shall try to find a replacement one or you can have it with the rack tray attached to it *edit* Cheers guys and please let me know what you have Stevie.D x Here's mine btw
5.
I haven't had experience of the bass but I'm planning to get one too. I'd also throw on a Bad Ass II and SPB-1!! The SH P has totally changed my mind about precisions and I now must have another.
Yeah, tell me about it. I always wanted a Fender P Bass, but I was going to get one just to have one in a collection, but now I want another one after the SH P and think i'm just going to stick to Fender P's from now on. I'll get the Classic Series 50's, get the badass and spb-1's on it and go from there. Maybe have it re-finished in a few years time as well to something a bit cooler than a plain colour. For now, the black will do
6.
I have the SPB-1 in mine
They are a fantastic set of pickups. I think I've been sold on the bass now haha Just need to save up the £530 and get it ordered. Will probably just get it from a music shop and pay in installments. Seems the easiest thing to do Keep it stock for a while until I get the parts. Well, apart from the Leo Quan as I have one spare sitting in a box under my bed with an unused mirror chrome pick guard fully wired with SPB-3 pickups. Want to swap them though, Prefer the SPB-1's
7. Awesome, So far, good feedback on them apart from bad action (which can be sorted with the new bridge) and lack of pickup output... somethings telling me that a set of Seymour Duncan SPB-1's could be making their way into it if I buy one haha
8. Hey Basically, to cut a long story short. After buying the Steve Harris signature Precision Bass last month, I have decided to now get another Fender Precision Bass to pair up with it. I was looking around for something that's quality, but not as expensive as the SH model and came across this http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/68234 Now, for £529, that really doesn't seem to bad to me Alder body, 1 piece maple C neck, gold annodized pickguard and nice, thin neck profile Admittedly, I'd swap off the bent tin Fender stock bridge for a Leo Quan Badass II but that's just how I roll :') I'm going to go and try one out at my local Coda Music shop (if they have one in stock, they normally have about 300 Fender guitars and basses in there, so they should do) to see if it feels right to me, but yeah, if anyone's ever played one or knows anything about one then please, discuss below Cheers!
9. I've got a set of SPB-3's for sale if you want them
10. As the title says. I've got a set of SPB-3's that have been barely used but I want to swap them out for a set of SPB-1's instead as I'm finishing off my Steve Harris tribute bass to go with my new Fender Steve Harris signature model. I'll pay postage for both items in the swap and they will be packaged very carefully. The pickups have been used a handful of times in one bass but the body got sent away for painting. Still not decided on black and white checkerboard or pure blood red on it. Either would look awesome haha Cheers guys
11. Every Iron Maiden song we've jammed EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEECCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD Play the intro to Reign *smash smash smash*
12. He's also a massive bender =D And I mean... A massive... MASSIVE bender! Blitzkreig bop!
13. endorca - Glad this has helped you out, I can't stop cleaning the damn thing haha! Everytime i use it, i have to clean it before putting it back in the case so there's no finger prints on it. God i love this thing! arsenic - Thanks very much dude, I really do ^_^ haha
14. Ahhh phew! Glad i didn't miss out on this Shockwave, Can you pleeeease message me as soon as you decide to sell the Trace? I am seriously interested in it Cheers bud!
15. Cheers for the replies guys I'm going to keep checking back to the trace elliot website every now and then and even give them a ring to see what the latest progress is Thanks! =D
16. To RhysP Yeah, the first run of it was a nice bass, but the pickguard was plastic, it had the Seymour Duncan SPB-3 pickups in it instead of the SPB-1 and the blue finish was a nasty lake placid blue. Also, the body wood was bass wood which is no where near as good as alder like on the new version. Still a nice bass to play though. To Lojo I definately enjoy myself playing this bass It's just such a fantastic bass to play and definately the best Fender Bass I've played. The jazz profile neck on it is beautiful To Grand Wazoo besides you having a rather funny name, I totally agree with what you say about Steve Harris being the leader of Maiden and the aesthetics of the bass recieving positive reviews
17. To Yorick Noooooo haha, I had a my studded belt on, but also, luckily for me, i had the bottom of my shirt slightly wrapped on the underside of the belt so it protected it from getting damaged xD
18. to Musicman20 Yeah, it's the "vintage tint maple finish" according to the catalogue description. It's a really nice fast neck, completely one piece. I can imagine that would annoy you quite alot, I'd hate to spend out a load of money for it to not stay in tune properly. Cos it either means it's a bad bass or it needs a fresh setup, new bridge, new tuners or something else, and it could mount up to costing alot more money
19. Hey guys Last thursday, I managed to finish paying off what I owed on the Fender Steve Harris P Bass I had ordered from my local guitar shop. And gotta say, What an absolutely beautiful and amazing sounding bass it is Decided to trust Fender's setup of the bass and didn't take it out of the case until 5 minutes before my sound check at a gig that night so I could quickly tune it. This does also mean I hadn't looked at it until this point as well. Do you know how hard it was being the Iron Maiden nut that I am, not looking at that bass and resisting playing it? VERY! So yeah, Got to sound checking time, took it out of the case, went weak at the knees seeing the beautiful blue sparkle paintjob and all chrome hardware gleaming up at me. No finger prints, no marks at all as it was completely brand new and came in from Fender. One of the best things was, it was still in perfect E standard tuning when I took it out. Bit unfortunate that I had to drop it down to E Flat really... Went on the stage to do the sound check and it sounded amazing. Had it running through my Trace GP12 and Marshall 4x12 JCM800 cab. Stood there rumbling away through our tunes, and of course, broke it in before hand with "The Clairvoyant" intro and "Rime of the Ancient Mariner" bass solo (Which is how it also got introduced mid set after the guitar change over hahaha). Oh, and as you can imagine, at the end of the first full song with it, my left foot went up on the moniter and I gunned down the crowd. Apparently the smile on my face was from ear to ear xD The setup Fender had done on it was spot on, even just about handled being dropped down to Drop D Flat (when I was noodling about at home) without any problems. Usually not a fan of the Rotosound Steve Harris Flatwound strings, but they work perfectly with this bass. All in all, I would honestly have to give this bass 10 out of 10. There isn't one thing I can find wrong with it. The weight of a bass is an important thing to me, and this one is just right. Features - 10 Sound - 10 Setup - 10 Playability - 10 Looks - 10 Cost - £900 brand new Accesories - Fender gig bag, set of allen keys, Fender strap Moving you closer to looking like a Steve Harris rip off - 666! Hahaha Sorry, But as you might be able to tell, I'm slightly hyperactive, I friggin' love this bass to pieces. I would recomend anyone who's a fan of the P Bass shape to try this bass out. Even if you're not a fan of it, I would still recomend you try it out Stevie Dewar xx
20. Argh I really want this :@ Why don't I have £100 spare
21. Hi dude, do you need to have the power amp running to power it? or can you just plug that directly into a cab and go? Seriously interested if i can shift my series 6 GP12.
22. Basses: Fender Steve Harris Precision Bass (deposit paid, have it within a month) Fender Geddy Lee Jazz Bass Fender American Standard Precision Bass (White, Black Plate, Maple Fretboard) Amp: Ashdown MK500 Mark King Signature Bass Head (if I get seriously bored of my Trace Elliot GP12 Series 6) Yeah, I love Fender Basses. Gunna stick exclusively to Fender from now on, nothing comes close to how good Fender's are to me, apart from my Tobias Toby Pro 4. But I'll never part with that
