  1. Also I’m finding that many venues are now insisting on £5M cover rather than £3M which is further increasing premiums!
  2. Pretty pricey but I’m wondering how much better can strings get? https://www.thomann.co.uk/dogal_jh171_jonas_hellborg_bass_set.htm
  3. Try the D’addario XTs. I didn’t get on with D’addario XLs at all, they felt rough under my fingers but the XTs are great.
  4. Gig money? People get paid for gigging? 😂 Some of us, yeah! 😀
  5. That’s my point, the “doesn’t really deteriorate” definitely didn’t work for me! Maybe it’s another example of snake oil? Those who seem most perturbed about my dislike of Elixirs are the ones spending their hard earned gig money on them.
  6. Elixirs are like marmite, you love ‘em or you hate ‘me. For me the longevity just doesn’t work so they’re not “worth the money.”
  7. Check out Read Audio. The customer service is incredible and they can come to you to do the moulds! www.read-audio.com
  8. Fantastic effects power supply solution with 6 x 9V outputs. Comes with an extra 5 outputs plus and extra isolated out. Mains lead is only short as it was on my board but it’s just a standard figure of 8 mains lead if you need a longer one.
  9. I have 2 of these amazing cabs to sell. Both in good condition, one with a fabric cover that’s seen better days and one with a pvc cover made by a fiend. These are fantastic cabs, loud and defined, even down to a low B. Specifications: Frequency Response: 25Hz-15kHz Power Handling: 300 watts RMS Sensitivity: 95 dB/watt Impedance: 8 ohms Connectors: Neutrik Speakon Dimensions: 16.5h x 13.75w x 17.5d Weight: 39 Lbs. £250 each.
  10. Hi Crispin, I do have someone interested but I’ll holler if they don’t take it. Thanks!
  11. Already a classic Fender bass, this Olympic White 4 string, made in Japan in 1998. It’s been a working instrument so there are a couple of dings and some cratering of the pickup cover but otherwise, it’s in good shape. Recently serviced and set up by Joe White at J.White Guitar Workshop in Aldershot. Hung against a white wall shows the slight yellowing of the Olympic White which you’d expect on a 25 year old instrument. Sorry, no trades.
