I've had a couple pb20's and they were fender spec. The Roswell pickups in the more expensive HBs are more than decent imho, and with the build quality, very decent and inexpensive basses.

Nickel rounds are not like pure nickel rounds. Pure nickel rounds are much beefier, warmer and thumpy, with less overtones than nickel plated rounds.

Have you tried pure nickel strings? I love that knackered tone also, tried loads of strings, eventually tried some Fender 7150 pure nickel (vintage tone), and they sound amazing. Warm and full sounding straight out the packet.

Nope. They are Fender strings, it's difficult to say which model they are, and they're most likely NOT discontinued!

How do you know they are Fender 7350s? My Fender pure nickel rounds (7150) are exactly the same coloured ball ends. I think most, if not all Fender strings use this colour system. 🤔

Definitely not a Hofner, a Chinese copy by the looks.

Both are really good little practice amps, lots of nice sounds. Or if you just want a solid bass tone then the standard rumble v3 40 are also nifty little practice amps. 😃

Mine weighs just over 8.5lbs. it may be basic, but it's a quality bit of kit. 😃

They do look cool. It won't sound like a classic stingray mind, as the pickup isn't in the traditional position. 😃

I'm guessing this is a "general" string she uses or even 'used'. Not sure it's what she's using in the video. 😊

Looks like a 2202 with single pup and some gold paint. Probably £150-180.

Not any real difference between the two, other than the J&Ds come in various colours, and the HB only in black. Alternatively if you look second hand SX short scale basses are I would say a step up over the others. Also older Encore short scale basses are arguably better than HB or J&D mini, in terms of build quality and sound, but you'll probably need to give it a good set up before you see the difference. 😃
