  1. I've seen many band mate ads where age is listed, but I know teenagers who are into 60s bands and I know pensioners who like modern music. The important bit isn't age, it's bands and influences you like. You need to list bands etc you like and find like-minded band mates! 👍
  2. If I want to listen to music I like I just use any one of my electronic devices. 🙈
  3. Lots of bands play live with amps/combo's on top of flight cases.
  4. Check the thread a few down from yours called "Scratchy pots", lots of advice and suggestions there.
  5. Not sure what a roadworn aesthetic has to do with the quality of wood? I don't know where you're coming from. 🤔
  6. Gorgeous. A cream or mint green pickguard would just give the bass the vintage look. 👍
  7. Like @Cuzzie said, I doubt very much it's the same quality wood on the G4M as the California!
  8. Ditto. My thoughts are the same as yours. I like the roadworn aesthetic, and doesn't matter if it gets a ding, less anxiety and stress. 👍
  9. Is it short scale or 32" (medium scale)?
  10. Look for a second hand 5er, I know there's a few cheap ones (Squier and Yamaha) on fleabay at the moment. I've had a G4M LA P 4 string bass and it was utter rubbish. Pickups and electrics were shockingly bad, neck was ok, body made out of paper - super lightweight and dented just by looking at it. The bridge kept becoming loose because the body wood is so soft under tension of the strings, it would pull up. 😪
  11. You can dull chrome by rubbing it with a normal scouring cloth, just rub it in the same direction. The thin chrome layer comes off very easily/quickly. 👍
  12. Surprised Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes isn't on the list, I hear it everywhere.
  13. Does anyone know if Fender's 5250xl short scale strings have silks at either end? Thanks
  14. Remember, it may be a 62 neck, doesn't mean the body is the same vintage! 👍
  15. Had a similar experience, I will never ship outside mainland UK.
  16. The Squier special P bass was made in Indonesia between late 90s and mid 2000's. So that and the width of the neck which looks 38mm, so reckon it is a 2000.
  17. I know what the IC prefix relates to, it's clear the OP does not.
  18. The OP was talking about the "Cort" factory. I suspect they mean the production of the VM range in 2008, which this bass is not.
