  1. I see them, though I am wearing my Stealth glasses. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  2. Without seeing pictures to judge condition it's difficult to give a comprehensive reply regarding price. But it's in the right ball park for a 70s fender, maybe a little low, but without pics... If it's a player's bass then after market add-ons won't affect price too much. If it's a collector's bass, mint condition etc then it absolutely will.
  3. Don't use pedals. Bass direct to amp or FOH.
  4. Very nice. Killer basses these. Shame about the thumb rest holes.
  5. Listen to any Squier classic vibe video, toneriders were used in them (original run, not the newer one's). ๐Ÿ˜
  6. How's it sound with neither pickup being in the sweet spot?
  7. I like D'Addario strings, I've had a few sets of Half rounds, they sound great after they're worn in, at first they have some kind of coating on the strings which feels a little tacky, it wears off after a few weeks playing. I like a similar dead nickel tone, and once broken in the D'Addario strings feel and sound really nice.
  8. D'Addario half rounds. GHS Pressurewounds. Elites Groundwounds.
  9. Half rounds or pressure or ground wounds, three names for the same type of strings. Rounds which have been ground down, for a more mellow tone.
  10. Someone buying a ยฃ2k bass should know how to set it up themselves, or rich enough to have their own tech. Either way I don't see the buyer paying a shop which doesn't look at details, to set up the bass for them.
  11. If you have multiple applications open at the same time, close all but the one you are using. Also make sure you have updated apps as well as the operating system.
  12. Anyone live near or in Truro who'd be able to help me with a bass purchase? The seller is in Truro and not willing to post, so hoping some nice BCer might be able to collect the bass and package it up, I'll sort a courier to collect at a suitable time. I'll also cover costs. Thanks
  13. Ok, do you have lots of free space on your hard drive? When a hard drive gets to below 100gb of free space you'll find certain things will slow down. A switch to a SSD drive will make the whole system more responsive.
  14. If you've never upgraded the RAM, then do this as it'll aid with applications like Logic.
  15. If it's working fine now, no need to go for the SSD. If you encounter a slowing in the future than you know now what to do next. ๐Ÿ‘
  16. Did you watch a lot of Blue Peter as a child? ๐Ÿ˜‰
  17. Yes, will be cost effective to buy another (refurb or secondhand). Make sure you remove the hard drive before getting rid of it. I would advise reformatting the hard drive, but as you say it's no longer working, you'll have to manually remove it, else the info on the hard drive may be recovered by some unscrupulous person!
  18. This. SSD and extra ram will certainly speed up you imac. I have an iMac similar year to yours, I've done many upgrades on mine over the years, which now more resembles a hackintosh more than the original iMac. Changing the hard drive in iMac's are fairly easy, I've done it before. You'll need the right tools, which can be picked up very cheap, and there's lots of tutorials online to guide you step by step through the process. If you're not practical, or good with your hands, then take it to a computer specialist.
  19. Check how much free hard drive space you have, if it's nearly full, this will slow your iMac down. Also sometimes the hard drive itself could be on its way out, this will also slow down your iMac.
  20. Whatever happened to all basses sounding the same? ๐Ÿ™ˆ
  21. Yes, the bass is not an Affinity, it is from the Standard range from very early 2000s, which quality wise is above the Affinity range, but below the newer Vintage modified and classic vibe ranges. It has a jazz neck on a P body, so a slim neck, which is why it is called Precision Special.
  22. This. There were no classic vibe range with both P and jazz pickups on one bass. As said by @Woodinblack it's either a Vintage modified or Affinity. A picture would help to easily identify?
