  1. Good news. As you are probably aware, the BW speaker is decent. If you ever need a replacement Peavey BW speaker, check fleabay, they often pop up for dirty cheap.
  2. Brand new Roswell VTN4-B Vista Tone Alnico V single coil pickup, taken from a new Harley Benton PB50. Pickup only, no screws/springs supplied. £18 for pickup plus £3.50 postage (UK mainland only). Or will trade for Wilkinson split P pickup.
  3. If you can find one a SX SPB62 short scale P bass is also excellent. They are very well made, and come with a standard size P pickups, which means if you wanted to upgrade them later on, that would be super easy to do.
  4. I've sadly owned both the basses you have there. When I started learning bass 20 years back, I picked up the Jedson, because I thought it looked cool (vintage), however having played many basses since then I can say that was the worst bass I've ever owned - the pickups from memory were super low output. The P bass, although being super lightweight ( a plus) is very low quality across the board. If you want a decent short scale bass (especially as a beginner) I can't recommend a Squier Bronco bass highly enough, they are well made, the necks on them (I've owned half a dozen over the years) have all been excellent and super easy to play. You can pick them up around £80-100 and are far superior than the Jedson. The Bronco comes with a guitar pickup instead of a bass pickup, but don't let that put you off, it still sounds pretty decent. I also know from experience that flatwound strings on the Squier Bronco sound great, yes, flatwound strings are expensive, but you will never have to replace them (they last 10 years plus) and are very smooth so are easier on your fingers, which makes learning and playing for longer much more fun. Some may shoot me down here, but I put full scale Fender flatwound strings (£25) on a Bronco once, and it made the bass come alive. So I would recommend them, and you will have a very decent playing and sounding beginner short scale bass.
  5. I can't help resolve the problem, but you can definitely replace the speaker with any one of your choice.
  6. Noice. The white/tort combo is smoking.
  7. If you want more bright, much easier and vastly cheaper to change the capacitor, or brighter strings!
  8. Lovely. So many people bang on about the CV range (and rightly so), but the smart folk know the VM range are more than decent for the money.
  9. What happened to the headstock?
  10. Cool. In that case have you tried playing with your thumb instead of your fingers? Will give a much heavier and meaty tone!
  11. I'm guessing the OP uses a pick, coming from a guitar background. Simple solution is to use a heavier pick. I use standard gauge 45-105 strings, with 1.14 gauge pick (purple Dunlop) and like a heavy sound. The short scale will give a deeper tone than full scale, so really heavy gauge strings makes things more flabby.
  12. Like to see you go collect it from South Korea!
  13. Might want to look at sellers rating. Seems their feedback is only 12 - so I know I'd be cautious!
  14. Best you don't, it's not pretty!
  15. Good to see the OP chime in. 🤔
  16. Every time I see one of these I think of Arthur "Killer" Kane.
  17. I also have the neck, thought it easier to sell seperately. PM me if you want detailed pics of the neck etc.
  18. Yamaha RBX270 solid alder body in silver sparkle, fully loaded PJ pickups (volume / blend / tone) and all fully working. Very good overall condition, a few marks, small dings etc commensurate with age. £50 plus £12.50 postage (fully tracked and with insurance) to UK Mainland only.
  19. I think East coast are rebranded Stagg basses. 😫
