  1. I've used btn, excellent customer service, unfortunately took 9 weeks for yammie part to arrive. They will be able to get the part you want, expect a long wait.
  2. Pee'd myself laughing πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
  3. Sold Paul a Squier Bronco. Excellent communication and quick payment. πŸ˜€
  4. I'm not sure what "lock down" means. Strings come with all sorts of coatings these days, surely manufacturers can add a coating to the tops of strings should they need to grip better, which would be aesthetically better, and better for the environment as it would use less materials, dyes etc.
  5. Nice bass, red knobs look freaking cool. But don't think it's a RBX 260, wrong body and headstock shape, as well as an extra jazz pup!
  6. I think Rotosound were the first to introduce silks. Before then, original electric bass strings were flatwounds with no silks - these strings would last year's without being changed.
  7. Well, this thread has gone off topic 😣
  8. Not so sure flatwounds would do much damage, though ALL flatwounds have silks.
  9. https://www.premierguitar.com/articles/Rig_Rundown_Soundgardens_Kim_Thayil_Chris_Cornell_and_Ben_Shepherd The vid of this rig rundown is worth a watch.
  10. Exactly, and no lollipop tuners! Several red flags with this "all original" one. πŸ€”
  11. So many people think the most expensive basses in a range are the best. For some they are, for others they are not. There is a reason many pro players use a MIM Fender over a US one. Don't get caught in the hype, some basses work for people, some don't. Try them yourself, and you'll know if the CV, VM or any other brand or range best suits your tastes.
  12. Mmmmm, one very rare 1969 Mustang... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Mustang-Bass-1969-Competition-Blue-with-Matching-Headstock-Very-Rare/233268219465?hash=item364fde8e49:g:spsAAOSwsuxc2fBh
  13. There's at least two threads from March this year!
  14. With the prices they charge you would think so!
  15. Lindy Fralin's come to mind. But as we don't know what tone you are specifically looking for, difficult to give best choice?
  16. If you like some kind of roadworn 51 check out Nash (US) or Limelight (UK), both do excellent 51 style single coil P basses. Both will be cheaper than a Fender one.
  17. If it intonates perfectly, and the string alignment doesn't bother you, then the best solution would be to put a bridge cover over it. As the bridge is misaligned, then there is no drop in replacement. If it's slightly off as you say, then moving the bridge over, even half a mm will increase the size of the screw holes, meaning the screws won't hold the bridge solid. You will need to fill the holes and drill new ones with new bridge or existing one, which is a pain in the a***.
  18. This maybe why the new name change. Can't call them Classic anymore as the "woods" are different. Plus as others have said, good reason to increase the cost.
  19. Didn't he play that Tele bass throughout the 90s?
