  1. There are other threads about lightweight basses here and elsewhere. Therefore a thread about basses under 6lbs is something different and would benefit people, but with people going off topic renders the thread not helpful to me nor anyone else.
  2. No. My OP had a weight and price limit. 🤔
  3. I think it's worse than that. I reckon it's a Starcaster - even lower quality than an Affinity.
  4. No, it's a 3 hole plate, so will fit VT and jack only!
  5. Pretty sure you could sell that on fleabay!
  6. Yes, the MIK E series are good. Though I replaced it with a MIJ Fender 62 RI which blew the Squier away in every way (except the machineheads!). Sorry, gone off topic a bit.
  7. Can you wire Jazz pickups to a P bass loom? I ask because I'm about to collect a jazz which has some electrics needing to be replaced, I already have a solderless P loom at home, so I'm thinking of connecting Live wires from both jazz picks to the Live terminal, same for the Ground wires from both pickups. This will make the jazz pickups wired in parallel, right? So both jazz pickups will always be fully on, adjustable only by single Volume and Tone, right?
  8. Had an E series p MIK which had Schaller brand machineheads, tuned it when I got it with flatwounds, never went out of tune in the whole three years I owned it.
  9. Well, this thread has gone off on a tangent. 😴
  10. I believe the spec of mid/late 80s Squier's are different to 90s ones. Earlier Squier's had better hardware for sure.
  11. Tele body with just MM in bridge position and clear/transparent pickguard. 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
  12. Nice threesome 😉 Which one do you like playing the most?
  13. You clearly didn't read the original post. Doh! Anyway, it's a Stu Hamm Urge.
  14. Oh yeah. https://www.wdmusic.co.uk/pickguards-c62/fender-basses-c111/precision-bass-50s-road-worn-series-c311/wd-music-fender-road-worn-series-50s-p-bass-b-w-b-p9947
  15. ???????? Wrong thread my friend. Just for the record, I don't like medium scale!
  16. The tell-tail shine in the bottom right edge/corner backs up T-Bay notion the bass has a satin finish.
  17. Something else from my parts box. A made in Korea precision neck, fully loaded, will come with neckplate and screws. Lovely rosewood and maple which has aged to a warm amber colour. Has marks, dings etc commensurate with an old neck (90's I think), minimal fret wear, truss rod fully working. 42mm nut and 63mm heel. £30 plus fully tracked postage to Mainland UK (£10).
  18. Does anyone know if this pup on fleabay is genuine. A low impedance EB pup seems odd to me. I thought the Gibson's were 30k and Epiphone's have 1k outputs? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Vintage-Gibson-EB-Bass-Pickup-Early-70s-EB0-EB3/163661974216?hash=item261b038ac8%3Ag%3AMiIAAOSwc0lcaqOn&LH_ItemCondition=3000
  19. Do a BC search for the weight, they are 3.3kg. Routing bodies won't reduce weight by as much as you think!
  20. 50s pickguards were 1 ply, so to get a 3 ply will be very difficult. 1 and 3 ply are the same thickness, standard screws will fit both. You can an 11 hole black one here... https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Guitarworks-11-Hole-Split-Coil-Bass-Scratchplate-Black/1BQF
  21. Nice. Warwick make some brilliant heads. Is that a cheeky Fender '51 reissue in the background?
