  1. When was the last time you updated Safari or your OS? You may be running an older version of Safari, so things might be not running properly.
  2. There were many punk bands back in the 70s which used Ric's. I would definitely say there were more punk bands using Ric's than Bird's! I would say there were more Ric users than Jazz's and Bird's combined.
  3. Always rosewood. They seem to like alder, not ash. At least for me anyway.
  4. I'm currently playing with half rounds and like them. I found they work with some P basses and not others, don't know why!
  5. Mmmmmm.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/fender-jazz-bass-neck/223551589688?hash=item340cb68d38%3Ag%3Ai1oAAOSwWkNdA5bi&LH_ItemCondition=3000
  6. Totally agree. I also think people's preference for tone changes over time and in different bands, which may also contribute to peeps selling on their customs!
  7. Should do a poll of BCers to see if there is a preference for 34, 32 or 30 inch scale, then we'll see if there is a market demand for 32 scale.
  8. May be not. Minority market... business wise wouldn't make sense to make 32 inch budget scale.
  9. Had mine about 10-15 years ago. Not an original, but was definitely 32 inch. Made in Korea I think.
  10. Burns Marquee bass is 32 inch, I had one which was the best sounding bass I've ever owned. The three pickups nails P bass, jazz, Ric and even upright sounds. An awesome bass which you can pickup used for around £300 or less, I only sold mine because it's pretty heavy. So if you don't mind the weight, and the styling it's a belter!
  11. Roadworn (basswood I think!) precision body (black) with cream (naturally aged from white) pickguard, and bridge. Body weighs 1.8kg and has 63mm neck pocket. Many dings, marks, dents, scratches. If you like prestine and new this NOT for you. If you like roadworn and mojo, this may tickle your fancy. £45 plus postage - fully tracked to Mainland UK for £10.
  12. Glad you like the la Bella's. Would be interested in how they cut through the mix with the tone half rolled off. How will you set your eq on your amp as imagine that would sound very muddy?
  13. FSR = Factory Special Run. Squier's are FSR as well, it's a Fender/Squier marketing term.
  14. Always wanted one of these, but could never find one!
  15. If you could confirm weight, that'll be most appreciated?
  16. You have such lovely wood there it's a shame you will cover it with a pickguard, had you gone for a 51 style control chrome plate with those 62 CS spilt pickups, would be sooooooo nice.
  17. There are lots of reviews on the Mikro about, all say it comes in 7lbs and over. You must have an ultra light one! Elfin is a mini bass, bit too small, I'm over 6ft so it'll look like a toy.
  18. @Marc S I know the Mikro is over 7lbs, so little too heavy. Don't mind short or longscale, but no mini or travel basses please. Is the rumble cat 6lbs or less? If so I may be interested.
  19. Due to back problems I'm looking to lighten the load with a lightweight bass, must be 6lbs or under, budget upto £300, used or new not bothered. I'm thinking Hofner Ignition or Club or any Danelectro. But what else is out there???
  20. No pics, no bass. Those the rules!
  21. Think the Hofner rounds may be steel. You need to use nickle rounds which will be more meaty than steels. Daddario nicklel rounds or DR lo riders are best imho.
  22. You could get a MIM, upgrade the pickups and still have change over the American Performer.
  23. As there are two types of flats "Old school" and "Modern Hybrid", I suggest you use both, one on each bass. The TI's are old school - thumpy, warm, smooth. Modern hybrids (Chromes, EB Cobalts, Fender flats) have a warm, brighter tone, more articulation through the mids, which may be good in your big band, will help cut through the mix better.
  24. Why do you want to change the pickups? The stock ones are well regarded by many! I'd be focused on the choice to strings being a shortie than the hardware or/and pups.
