  1. Is the yammie passive and your others active? If not, 10k is medium output for passive, might look for some hot pickups.
  2. I'm guessing, Mark buys a mint green pickguard and relics that.
  3. Wow, very nice collection of great basses. Which one is your goto?
  4. I had one just like this, same colour, fabulous sounding and playing bass.
  5. That's is a bronco with modifications, including fake fender logo on headstock.
  6. Do a Google search on bronco bass mods (or modifications), there's lots of threads about it, with tonnes of advice. Loads of options available! I recently switched to short scale, picked up a SX spb62, which is really well made for a bass similar to the bronco in price, upgraded the machine heads and bridge to Wilkinson, and dropped in some SD Quarter Pounders, Daddario half wound strings and it's a beast. Neck on the SX is super slim and nice to play.
  7. The 760fx and low tension Labellas will sound similar to the TIs. If that's not the sound for you, i doubt you'd like either.
  8. The Hofner will give a very different sound to that of a bronco or Mustang. You can't go wrong with a Mustang, they are a classic bass, and classic for a reason - they are excellent basses. If you like your bronco, which are well made and the necks on them are excellent, then a change of pickup and electrics for the bronco maybe a quick and simple solution. There are some amazing pickups which can drop straight into a bronco. Alternatively, this website will give you great insight into short scale basses and strings... http://www.shortscalebass.co.uk
  9. Don't recall the OPs question specifically being about 5ers. Generally speaking they are good value.
  10. Depends on how efficient the speakers are, but generally more cone surface area the louder.
  11. Line 6 Lowdown 400 (2x10) combo would be ideal. Makes lots of different sounds, weighty but not the heaviest combo, and can be picked up very cheap used.
  12. +1 for Gear4music, generally the lowest prices for decent strings in UK.
  13. Whatever you do don't use Rotosound flats, the highest tension strings I've ever played. Like playing metal rods, not strings.
  14. You posted this in the wrong section. This is for bass gear!
  15. I was just checking out this vid, bass sounds awesome...
  16. Scrap the Colbalts (modern sounding flats) than. Going from rounds to old school flats is going to be a very big difference. Anyway, if you want low tension and old school warm thump than Labella 760FS is what you require! Lovely G5440LSB by the way.
  17. Flats are nearly always higher tension than rounds. Rotosound and Fender flats are some of the highest tension flats, so I would not advise these. Without knowing what style(s) of music you will be using flats for and you require fairly low tension, then there's only one set of flats which will suit what you've told us which are Ernie Ball Colbalt flats.
  18. As a bass these old Kay's are total rubbish, the pickup is microphonic. However, run it into fuzz or overdrive and these are super fun to play, they suddenly come to life and work great in a garage rock band. Nothing else.
  19. The 57 style two tone just looks sooooooo good. 🤘
  20. This is very tempting, very cool bass. Necks on Danos are just amazing.
