I just creamed my knickers, this is a dream bass for me. Only ever played passive though, is there a huge difference in tone?
In the case of this guitar there is quite a difference between the active and passive tones (it can do both - one of the pots is a push/pull switch). The active mode gives more powerful tone although this can be shaped to suit your needs and as I mentioned before the range of tones is huge, you don't have to twiddle the knobs very far to have a big impact on the tone.

Would a Shuker Jazz satinline prototype be of any interest ?

    Here's a link to the production model - http://www.bassgear....nline-4-string/

Mines the prototype and this was the original thread from when I bought it - http://basschat.co.u...satinline-sold/

Thanks for the offer, will have a think about it - got any pics of the actual bass?

    don't have a jazz bass I'm afraid.
can you not put the MM pup in single coil mode and turn the preamp off?
Yep that is possible but not really doing it for me. I'm not gigging at the moment and I guess I just fancy a change as well.

Feel free to hit me up with other offers, I'm quite easily tempted!!

  4. Up for sale is this Sandberg JM4 that I got off here last summer. A really fantastic bass but it's not suiting my needs at the moment. This bass is an absolute tone monster with a huge varieity of sounds available from the Jazz and MM pick ups and the superb onboard preamp.

As you can see, the bass does have some damage which I feel is reflected in the price. From what I remember a previous owner said it was caused by falling off a stand, I think if you search through previous sale threads you might find more information. When I got the bass I was going to get it repaired but have never got round to it, its one of those dings that you can't see whether its on a stand, hung from the wall or on a strap - it never bothered me enough to do anything about it.

Fire away with trade offers, open to any suggestions, though I'm only looking for 4 strings at the moment.

Further pictures can be made available, just shout if you want anything specific.

It comes with a Sandberg gig bag so I'm not totally sure about posting at the moment, have yet to find a courier that will insure a bass shipped without a hardcase. I guess I could get hold of a hardcase and post if need be, would have to come to some arrangement about the cost of this though. I'm in Nottingham if you want to have a look at the bass.

  5. Up for sale is my Stagg EDB. This isn't getting played as much as I thought it would so the time has come to move it on.

Its the honey coloured one - pics to follow this evening.

It hasn't been out of my house so is really in fantastic condition.

I'm looking for £250 plus postage, I'd be happy to send this anywhere in the UK. Collection from Nottingham would also be fine.

Not a lot more to say about these, there's a lot of info in the other forums here if you search or I seem to remember there being a long thread about them over on Talkbass.

Shout up if you have any questions.

    Cheers

    Mal

  6. I sold Matt the neck from my Sue Ryder P, received prompt payment and Matt was very patient as it took me a while to get the postage sorted out. Great comms throughout, a pleasure to do business with, hope you enjoy the neck!

  8.
Perfect P bass for me right there.... Any interest in trading up for my Veillette 5 string, or any of my PJB gear?
Many thanks for the offer but not really my cup of tea I'm afraid.

New pics added, let me know if you want to see anything else.

  9. For no other reason than I fancy a change.....

For sale is my USA Fender Precision from 2007 in black/black/maple. In good condition it does have one dink on the underside of the lower horn but this hasn't gone through to the wood and is pretty hard to spot, also a small scratch on the back - tried to show photos below but its really not that bad. Currently strung with La Bella flats. Includes Fender SKB hardcase, pick up covers, strap and usual case candy. This is the newer spec without the S1 switching and with the high mass bridge. It's currently got Schaller strap locks fitted and I don't have the originals, I'm sure I could source some if this is a deal breaker.

Would like £600 plus postage for this but could be open to offers, though I'm in no rush to get rid.

I could also be tempted by trades, anything other than a Precision or a Jazz - let me know what you've got.

A quick pic below, will get some better photos taken tonight.

  10. Just bought a set of strings from Pete. Great price and recieved them the day after the money was sent. Wouldn't hesitate to do business again!!

  11.
Natural plywood wouldn't look too hot though.
Having had the neck and pickguard off mine I'm pretty sure the bodies are solid alder - as described on the Sue Ryder website. You can just about make it out on one of the photos I posted a few pages back.

  12. The results are in! The neck fits - not perfectly but not too bad and no major surgery required!! see here for more details. So I now have a spare Ryder neck - give us a shout if you're interested.
