  1. Bought a Maruszczyk jazz copy off Mac in a shockingly good deal, he'd not only restrung it with a fresh set of rounds but threw in the original set of TI flats to boot. Mac saved me a good couple of hours off my round trip from Leeds by coming into Newcastle to drop the bass off, we had a great chat over a coffee and the time literally evaporated. Mac's a lovely bloke to deal with, friendly and knowledgeable and replied to all my niggling questions promptly and courteously. Cheers Mac!
  2. Bought a Squier 40th Jazz off of Bobby, not just a great bit of kit at a fantastic price but he went well above and beyond and delivered it to me next day to boot. We had a great chat for a half hour or so, Bobby's a lovely bloke with some cracking stories who's worked with some legit legends, well jelly. Cheers Bobby, very much appreciated.
  3. EHX Bass Preacher for sale, nice straightforward little compressor with controls for the amount of compression (sustain), makeup gain (volume) and a choice of three attack/release ratios. There's an internal trim pot (WHY) to set the parity volume, it's a little quiet by default so I've tweaked it so you're at parity with both dials at noon. Does the job well, if you're after an always-on "thickening" type compressor without any additional bells and whistles this is a good choice. Youtube demo: 60 notes posted.
  4. As-new Digitech Bass Driver for sale, can't find the box but it'll be well packaged. Nice little dirt this, goes from relatively subtle grit at one end of the "Morph" (where's Chas?) dial to ODB-3 style distortion around the middle and full-blown fuzz at the other end. Lots of decent tones to be had from it, and it's not as "fizzy" as the pedals it takes inspiration from. Apparantly has a cab sim on the second output which is accessed by holding the footswitch down when you power the pedal on, but I haven't used that so can't comment on it. Pretty decent demo of the kind of sounds you can expect to get out of it: 50 notes posted.
  5. Bought a fuzzbox off James, timely & informative comms and the pedal was delivered promptly in great packaging, cheers James.
  6. Bought a couple of basses off Dave in one of the easiest distance sales I've done. Dave was an absolute pleasure to work with the entire time, comms were friendly, quick and thorough throughout. Did me a great deal on two axes, a pickup and a bridge, and went so far above and beyond with the packaging it's not even funny. Like, I'm pretty autistic thorough when it comes to sending guitars through the mail but Dave went even further than I would - both guitars were compress-wrapped with bubble wrap into containers (the original box and a hard case), which were then further compress-wrapped into larger boxes. There must have been a good 2-3 inches of bubble wrap and at least 2 double-walled cardboard sleeves between the outside world and the axes themselves; they would probably have survived a direct missile strike, the lads in the Parcelforce warehouse had no chance of making a dent lol. He put up with my barrage of nitpicky questions with good grace and put a lot of time and effort into the transaction that he absolutely did not need to, I'm beyond impressed. And the guitars are great too, cheers Dave!
  7. It's got some old school cool for sure. Maybe a little basic / no frills by modern standards but if you want that 80s - 90s hard rock thump it's got you covered. And standing in front of a Marshall stack (even one that's only just over four feet tall lol) never gets old.
  8. Yeah, these are mint. You can get a zillion sounds out of them, and even if you don't fancy fiddling with the software the stock ones are all great. The desktop / laptop software is much easier to use than the phone app, but that's down to how many things there are to configure - it's difficult to fit all the options onto the smaller screen of a phone.
  9. Bought a guitar & case off Paul in an absolutely fantastic deal, took a little longer to collect than I'd hoped thanks to trains being out but Paul couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. Great comms throughout and a lovely bloke to boot, highly recommended, cheers Paul.
  10. Yowza, that's a beauty, incredible price too. I'd wish you good luck with the sale but I suspect you won't need it, can't imagine this'll still be here come Monday.
  11. Have now got a mahoosive roll of large bubble wrap along with an old bike box, so I'd be willing to mummify this and make a double-walled coffin to post it in for an extra 20 notes if anyone fancies taking a punt on Parcelforce not jumping up and down on the neck in transit.
  12. Calm down, it's the solid state versions, no valves here I'm afraid. Early/mid 80's (not sure of the exact year, they were in production from 1983-1988 and the 'R' at the end of the serial number would suggest 1983 but can't be sure) Marshall 5520 bass combo plus the 1934 extension speaker that was made for it. According to drtube dot com: JCM800 5520 Bass, 160W 1×15″ bass combo This solid state bass combo was in production from 1983 upto 1988. It was fitted with a 15″ Celestion G15Z-200 T3629 8Ω 200W speaker. JCM800 1934, Bass 1×15″ 150W 8Ω cabinet. These cabinets were in production from 1983 up to 1986. It fitted with a “specially made Celestion” 15″ 8Ω 150W speaker. This cabinet was primarily meant as an extension cabinet for the 5520 Bass combo. Dual channel combo with a built-in compressor, 4-band EQ on channel A along with a pre-shaped "contour" EQ that does the whole boosted bass & treble / scooped mids thing, along with a 3-band EQ with a different mids frequency on channel B. Comes with a non-original PEDL10013 footswitch (they don't make the originals any more, alas, but any dual latching footswitch will work), without the footswitch connected it defaults to channel A with the compressor enabled, which is the most useful / verstile configuration in my opinon. On the back there are two speaker outputs for 4/8Ω speakers, along with a send/return loop and a 6.35mm DI. Both in fantastic nick, no marks or dings on the tolex and everything's in full working order. Last serviced by Marshall in January 2020 and mostly unused since then, I've seen the internals described as "big 'n' beefy and easy to service". Dimensions for both are 57cm wide x 62cm high x 34cm deep. They're pretty heavy so collection only, the combo weighs 33kg and the extension speaker is a further 25kg. I literally can't get these up and down the stairs any more since I slipped a disc so off they go. 225 notes collected from just outside Leeds.
  13. That's a fantastic price for an M89, surprised no-one's bitten your hand off for that.
  14. It's only a tiny issue, but on android the notifications sent by the app/site don't get dismissed when they're clicked on. They redirect to the correct page but stay active in the notification log and have to be manually dismissed. Can get confusing if you've got multiple conversations on the go but like I say, hardly a showstopper. I don't know if this is configurable server side, usually it just requires setting a metadata tag on the notification payload but I dunno how much of the internal workings Invision exposes in this regard. Tried on 2 different android phones and happens on both, not sure about iOS.
  15. These Player Mustangs are superb guitars, the balance on them is just right and the satin finish on the neck is lovely too. Great price as well, surprised this is still here.
  16. Traded a pedal with Brian, super helpful with great comms and the pedal turned up packed really well the next day.
  17. 20 watt Peavey Microbass practice amp, solid state combo with a 1x8" speaker, has controls for input gain and a 3-band EQ as well as a 6.35mm headphone jack for silent practice. Good condition, no crackling when turning the dials and no dings or scuffs to the tolex, only what look like paint/plaster scrapes on some of the bottom corners. Weighs 8.4kg / 18.5lbs, dimensions are 32cm wide x 36cm high x 24cm deep. Surprisingly capable little amp with tons of low end, perfect for bedroom or garage use. 35 notes posted, or you can knock a fiver off for collection.

  18. What's the weight of this, please?
  19. Pristine 2013 MIJ Jaguar bass, with the series/parallel switch and 2-band active EQ. No dings or marks of any kind, had a full service a couple of months ago with the pickups freshly refoamed. Fully shielded so doesn't suffer from the grounding problems that plagued these models. 4.4kg overall weight, only ever been played with flatwounds so has very little fret wear considering it's age. Currently fitted with a fresh set of standard gauge LaBella Deep Talking Bass flats, nowhere near broken in yet. It's got a lovely gurgling Jazz growl with plenty of scope for tonal modification. The only issue is a tiny gap at one side of skunk stripe down the middle of the neck. Asked about filling it in when it was being serviced and the tech just shrugged, they sometimes do that over time apparantly, it's not in danger of coming loose or falling out. It's not really noticeable when playing but you can feel it when you pick the guitar up. Edit: This has been filled, sanded and buffed out, it's still visible if you know to look for it and you can feel it if you run the soft pad of your thumb down the skunk stripe, but you can't notice it when playing any more. Replaced the strap buttons with outsized Gotoh ones, they're not the best lookers but are super secure, as long as your strap holes aren't gaping open there's no need for additional straplocks. Still have the original silver strap buttons, along with the original parchment pickguard. Love this axe but it's time to face the fact that my back can't support full scale guitars since I slipped a disc, every time I wear this for more than 20 minutes or so I'm in pain for days afterwards so it's time for someone else to enjoy it. Edit: and here's a couple of shots in the daylight, so you can see what it actually looks like:
  20. Plugged it in and had a noodle this afternoon, no-one's gonna mistake it for a top-end axe but it defo punches above it's weight quality-wise.
  21. Boxed as new Pedaltrain Nano pedal board. Edit: M80 & Tick are gone, now just selling the board. Built to an extremely high standard, it has a reinforced exterior with a microfibre-lined padded interior and a reinforced rubber "boot" at the base, plus a rear sleeve, a deceptively capacious front compartment and a upper pocket as well. Reinforced carry handle on the side, as well as shoulder straps on the back that can be tucked into the rear sleeve when not in use. The case interior will fit most awkward-shaped basses, I don't have a Thunderbird to hand but it takes a Jag no problem: Also included, 2 artisinal, hand-crafted foam inserts for propping up short scale basses so their weight isn't pulling on the Headlock if you want to use them with it: The board hasn't been used, and comes with the original velcro and cable ties (although the velcro is allegedly prone to failure so you're probly best off binning that). And here's a rough idea of what you can expect to fit on a Nano: The bag with the tick & empty board only weighs 3.6kg (just shy of 8 pounds) so they're not heavy at all. Full specs are here: https://pedaltrain.com/collections/nano/products/pt-nano-sc 45 notes posted.
  22. You absolute star, I've been looking for basically this exact type of case for ages now. Using a Mono M80 at the minute (which this appears to be based on) with two foam blocks in the base so the weight isn't all on the internal velcro strap but this looks like a perfect replacement. Is this the G-ICONELECTRIC model, then? And does it have straps on the back as well or just the carry handle?
  23. Other way round, chief, updating the title locks the thread and leaves it where it is, I must have done it half a dozen times now. Quite a few people reply to their own threads with a "sold" post, however, which does bump it, and it's that behaviour I was (hilariously) suggesting be worthy of discipline. Just a joke tho, obvs it's not a joke ban them
  24. It's soooooooo annoying to see a listing get bumped to the top of the page just so the OP can let everyone know their thing is no longer available. Super useful, good to know! Ha ha ha only joking I'm not joking ban them
